Morning, all.

Still hot, and they say that will remain the guess for the next week :( Nothing below the mid 80s in sight.

This is called 'wake up' and then 'go back to sleep' ..

Yay! The heat wave is gone for today at least. Only going to 87. 92 tomorrow, but then into the low 80's for the next 10 days. Whew! We were almost completely melted!

Those 2 bands of storms blew around us yesterday. Only got about 4 minutes of a good rain, but around 11:30 last night we had quite a storm with lots of rain so no watering needed today!

I was looking for clothes dryer balls on Amazon this morning and found these different kinds of gadgets to collect the lint from the washer and dryer. Anybody have any suggestions for a kind that gets cat hair and random tissue debris out of the washer or dryer? I try to be so careful checking for tissues, but every once in awhile one gets past me - what a mess!

Good morning. We had lots of rain last night so don't have to water today. Just have to check the potted plants on the deck and dump out the dishes under the pots so the plants don't drown. And it looks like possible rain each day til next Saturday! Hope my tomatoes don't split! At least the temps will be in the 80s instead of the 90s. Humidity is still really high - we'll be covered in moss if this keeps up.

I'm enjoying the antics of the hummingbirds. Looks like we have several partaking of the nectar in our 2 feeders. Don't know why they have to chase each other, there's plenty for everybody. And the birds are enjoying drinking out of the ant moat. Never saw them do that at our old house.

I took a shower, bath, shower last night! Took a long bubble bath. Boy Mr. Bubbles does not work the way I remembered it when I was a kid. Maybe Perry has hard water or something. It was still nice and relaxing.

I got some of the prettiest porkchops out of Perry's freezer. I like the Shake-N-Bake BBQ and Perry had never had it. He said he always fixed his chops in the crockpot. When I was in the bath, I heard him tell his friend about the supper I fixed for him so he must have been impressed. I enjoyed too. Perry told me he could not have gone anywhere to eat and gotten a meal that was as good as I fixed. I think I earned a point or two. heehee Wild rice, peas, slaw and a salad. It was rather tasty, if I say so myself. I was just pleased that I figured out his oven. I have finally gotten over my fear of using gas. I like it. It seems to cook faster too.

Happy Friday to all. Hope everyone has a nice weekend. I have no plans yet but that's okay. Stay cool all.
I grew up cooking on electric ranges, but once I found myself with a gas stove I was hooked. I love cooking with gas. It feels more efficient and just seems like I have more control (but still end up burning some things! My multi-tasking is not as good as it once was...)

That's a problem? Don't have to mow the moss ;)

All of which, here, has gone dormant. Grass still very crunchy, so no need to mow, just walk around and it's shorter.

No change in sight, although probably only the mid to upper 80s.

We've used some dryer sheets that collect some of the cat hair, but not all.
Back when I had a bunch of cats, I always called cat hair condiments at my house. It has been almost 10 years since I had a cat and I still miss them. Maybe one day I will get another one after I decide where to call home and stay there. heehee

Boy I am! I can't believe I've never cooked with gas. I have not burned anything yet but knowing me. . . it's bound to happen. I love Perry's kitchen gadgets. I used a Instapot for the first time this weekend and the chicken was delicious. After we got finished, Perry made bone broth so tonight, I have a pot of chicken veggie soup cooking. I hope it turns out good. I am using the frozen corn I worked so hard on and a bunch of other things. I'll let you know if it is edible.

Guess I need to vent somewhere. I had no idea a root canal could cost 1700.00. Dentistry is one giant rip off now. I was in the office for 1 hour. Wish I could have made that much money for an hour of work.

What's always poed me is that it's not part of medical insurance. Uh, gum disease can cause fatal heart conditions ( and other things). Why is it NOT part of basic health care?? Yeah, I can see purely cosmetic procedures not being covered, but otherwise...

Some of mine is actually covered by a Medicare advantage plan but gets used up quickly when a procedure costs so much.

IIRC that was an option (on some plans) that just got rolled out last year? Glanced at what our Advantage had, and our current(for dental) was cheaper with the same coverage, so passed. Thankfully I was able to keep the plan we had when I retired, so a big group and "lower" cost. Probably check again come "open enrollment" time, to see if the program has improved.
