IIRC that was an option (on some plans) that just got rolled out last year? Glanced at what our Advantage had, and our current(for dental) was cheaper with the same coverage, so passed. Thankfully I was able to keep the plan we had when I retired, so a big group and "lower" cost. Probably check again come "open enrollment" time, to see if the program has improved.
I have had it for about 3 years and also comes with a 'benefits' visa card that is good for several hundred dollars to be used toward some medical/dental expenses that are above what they pay. Also, it has a pharmacy benefit for otc items like toothpaste, etc that is about $150 yearly iirc. I get all my antiseptic sprays, dental care items and lots of other stuff. You get to pick what you want.

Guess I need to vent somewhere. I had no idea a root canal could cost 1700.00. Dentistry is one giant rip off now. I was in the office for 1 hour. Wish I could have made that much money for an hour of work.

Not liking the reason you popped in ... but nice to see you both here.

    Morning, all.

Still hot and dry, but they have decided to tease us with a guess of moderate temps. Soon. Not yet, of course, and far enough in the future to be wrong. We'll see.

Wow - that's a perfect post for today!

I work for a company that manages a health & fitness club (tennis, swim, racquetball, fitness etc). We just announced today that we've been bought, a new management company will take over as of Sept 3. I'm going to go crazy for the next couple of months during the transition. The upside is at the end, when my company files it's taxes for the year and we shut down, I'll be retiring from that tech-age prison!

Well David, you know the old saying, be careful what you wish for... I wanted rain and boy have we gotten it. Fortunately the hard rains have been interrupted by a couple hours of dry spells. We'd be more than happy to send you some if we could figure out how to do it. The grass is going to be knee high soon.

@WhiteHighlights That's great news about your impending retirement. Don't know if it'll work this way for you, but as soon as I knew when I'd be retiring my whole attitude about my work changed. It became easier knowing I had a date to look forward to.

My calendar for Sat. and Sun. doesn't have anything listed that has to be done. I love days like that. Hmmm, maybe I can work on my projects and I'll see if I can get my nails done.

I've been enjoying watching the olympics, but that's coming to an end this weekend. The timing worked out well because the Phillies have been playing out west so their games are starting too late at night to enjoy watching them.

Our son and his family recently got 2 rescue kittens. Geez, they are so freak'n cute I can hardly stand it. We've had to run over to their house to take care of them a couple times and it's always a joy to play with them.

    Morning, all.

Still hot and dry, despite them saying Thursday night that Saturday would start the cool down. That got changed to Sunday...

Yeah, weather does tend to move from the west to the east, so hard to turn it back :)

Hmm, might be on to something...

Good morning all! Looks like it is going to be a beautiful and SUNNY day. After getting 9 inches of rain in my rain gauge, I am ready for the sun to shine. Now the humidity is a bummer.

I told y'all I thought Perry liked my BBQ pork chops and I guess he did because when I asked him what we would do for supper yesterday he said he wouldn't mind some more of them so I took 6 out of his freezer. I was thinking we would go out on a date date but I do understand how much he has been working and he is tired. So pork chops are what we had along with mac&cheese and mixed veggies. I also made some deviled eggs because I know how much he loves them. I do too!

He worked yesterday and I stopped by to see my friends Sharon and Kenny (the couple I go out to eat with). So nice to see them. I took them some of the salsa we made because I know they like stuff like that.

Came home and worked my .... off getting all the trim work, edging, blowing, and weed eating done. Perry was supposed to mow yesterday but he ended up working all day so I guess he will be mowing today. That is relaxing for him so I think he is looking forward to it.

Hope everyone has a nice relaxing Sunday.

    Morning, misfits.

After getting 9 inches of rain in my rain gauge,

Uh, that's a bunch! Guess you're on high ground!

No such "luck" here, although the temp has been slowly dropping. And they have the nerve to claim some might be along in a week. Yeah, right. Half the time they blow it for one day out, we're supposed to pin our hopes on a week out??

    Morning, lizards.

The rocks are actually cooling down, seems the guess of cooler temps was right. Looks to be mid 70s all week, and they're still talking about some rain Saturday. Glad I'm old school and still have a Funk & Wagnell's to look that up :)

Riddle me this. Yesterday I moved a dead wren from in front of the garage door and laid it to rest at the base of a tree. Today I checked to see if a squirrel might have eaten it. But what the heck. In the exact spot I put the bird is now a big brown egg.

Do dead wrens turn into brown eggs?????
    A new kind of Phoenix????

The egg is bigger than the xtra large eggs we buy at the grocery store.
