That's a lot of hair to trim! Your head must feel so much lighter!
It is but y'all have known me long enough to know my head has always felt light!

I stopped taking 2 medications that I did not feel were necessary and I have started to lose a bunch of my hair again. I am hoping it will calm down with time and I also hope taking iron, like the doctor told me to do, will help also.

Morning, all.

Cool and damp persists here, although not much rain. Yet :)

Yeah, the media grabs one story and beats it to death. Nothing else going on anywhere in the world except that one story... until they decide on the next one. And worse on the weekend, when apparently nothing happens...

Sad day, I had to put my sweet Phoenix down today. I am heartbroken and miss her already but couldn't let her suffer another day.

Oh my goodness, I'm so sorry. This is such a compassionate thing to do for your beloved pet, but it's gut crushing all the same. I still miss our little Phoebe cat and our grand dog, Izzy. But I also remember the silly antics and the unconditional love we shared. How lucky we have been to have shared all the wonderful times. I'm sending you a big virtual hug.

Yesterday afternoon our son and his family came over for a fried chicken dinner. It was a nice respite from their daily work schedules.

When it was time for them to leave Mike put the floodlights on outside and we all were all transfixed watching the breeze cause so many leaves to fall. It was snowing leaves!! Very cool! Yep, Fall is definitely starting here in our corner of Pennsylvania.

I think we all know exactly how you feel and the emptiness that that right decision causes. I still regret not taking my dog. It was during covid and I could not find a vet that would let me come in and be with her when they did it and I just couldn't stand it. I looked into having a vet come to the house and it was going to cost so much and I just couldn't ask my dad to pay for that also. Luckily she did not have long to suffer and I think my dog understood.

I also understand that making the right decision still makes you sad. As Janet said, remember all the joy that you both brought to each other. That is truly unconditional love.

Sending a hug to you too!

Went on my second double date last night and it was wonderful. Of course, it was a friend of Perry's because the majority of my friends are on here!

heehee (or at least I like to think I am your friend)

Took the other couple to my fav restaurant that has the most awesome best ribs I have ever put in my mouth. They agreed and we had a great meal.

I am not sure why I have such a ferocious appetite lately. I think this is happy weight gain but I have got to get back to eating the way I used to and get it off. I eat more than Perry and he is a big man. He had a gastric sleeve operation a couple of years ago. Lost a tremendous amount of weight. He was diabetic before the surgery and everything is normal now. It is wonderful what they can do to help people. Eat is such a social thing and I don't think I could give that up. Guess I could if there was a medical reason like Perry. I do love good food!

Never an easy decision to make. Your mind says its the right thing to do but your heart has a hard time doing the right thing. Hold tight and dear the fond memories you have of Phoenix and know deep down you made the right decision.

Huh! Off to buy new tires for the Honda Pilot. The Pilot will be happy, but my checking acc't will be sad. Long time since I paid 'bout $25 per tire (today it'll be like 10x that amount). Some places want that much per tire for installation. Nope - not using one of those places.

Thank you, all for the kind words. I was with her till the end and the vet gave her a sedative first to relax her so she didn't feel a thing. Her trachea was almost completely closed so she had trouble breathing and I knew she was suffering so my vet met me after hours and I was glad to pay for that service. We had been trying to get her better with meds and such but it wasn't working. She was only 10 which is not very old for an Alaskan Klee Kai but she had health issues her whole life, IBS and such. The steroids made her gain a lot of weight/muscle which didn't help with the breathing issues.

Good morning. Looks like it's gong to be a gray day and the high is only supposed to be 67 degrees! I've got to start thinking about where I'm going to put the plants when I bring them in for the winter.

I think our hummingbirds have left. They've been at the feeders a lot lately and now I haven't seen one at all this morning. I'll leave the feeders up for a few weeks for any that might be passing through, but I'll miss their antics at the feeders until next Spring.

On Friday we'll go to our daughter's house to watch her 2 boys for the night. Then on Sat. we'll bring them to our house for the day. Our son can drop off his 2 boys so they can all play for the day. We're so happy that the cousins like each other so much. Now that they're older it's a lot easier to handle 4 boys at once. Still, after we take the boys back on Sunday Mike and I will probably put on our PJs and turn into sloths for the next 24 hours.
