Wonder what the 'fuel' mileage on this 'rig' was.

I think I told y'all months ago that I had lost my tooter on my lawn mower.

And, I lost my oxygen meter. I later found it in the box for my inhaler. Seems like everything turns up, but you never know where or when.
I always tell Mike that whatever is missing will turn up when he's not looking for it. turns out I was right...

I am sure y'all are all wondering how my first fruit dehydration turned out. View attachment 1019418 Well, I'll tell you anyway. I liked everything. The apples are still my fav but the strawberries were really sweet and tasty. I put them on our salads tonight. I had leftover beef stew and Perry ate it for the first time. I swear it gets better every time I reheat it. Perry was impressed. I hope he understands my meals taste different every time I make them because I do not measure or use the same ingredients each time.

Well, I am glad I enjoyed the sun today because they are calling for rain again tomorrow. Sheesh! I am so tired of feeling this way. I wish I could send this rain to the people that need it.

Hope everyone sleeps well and has a nice, relaxing Sunday.
I think stews always taste better the next day and beyond! And, like you, I don't measure ingredients either (except when baking). It would drive me nuts when women I worked with would ask for my recipes. They didn't like that I'd tell them the ingredients and they'd ask for measurements even to what size pot. Sheesh. Sometimes, with a new recipe, I'll make it according to the instructions and then make it my own way thereafter.

I had to google that one and that is pretty neat. I've never heard of those. I do love taters though! View attachment 1019409 Can't wait to hear about how they did.
We didn't get many potatoes, but then I didn't expect to this time because I took a chance planting a couple from my cabinet, Potatoes from the grocery store are sprayed to help keep him from sprouting, but supposedly if they do sprout it is ok to plant them. A couple years ago I got the grow bags and ordered seed potatoes. We got a huge crop of spuds and they were delicious!

There's lots of Youtube videos about growing potatoes in bags.

I love my dehydrating divorce-a-versary present! I was a little bit disappointed in my first attempt though. I tried frozen and canned peaches and the both just gummed up like sticky jerky. The raspberries have been going since yesterday at noon and they are still soft. I will save my money on the green beans and just go outside and chew on a couple of sticks.

I will still experiment more stuff. It came with a very nice recipe book and I will definitely try most of them. I am sure it will make good jerky. I just ordered a jerky gun from Amazon. A friend of Perry's made some turkey jerky using a gun. It had a different texture but I thought it was good.

It is pretty sad that the only exciting thing happening to me is a dehydrator.

Ever heard of a country called Guinea Ecuadoria? Me neither. Ir's a country in Africa and Hux had to cut out a paper doll and dress it in traditional garb. I felt kinda stupid going to the fabric store to ask for 4" wide piece of fabric but the boys were with me to prove I wasn't nuts. We got home and pulled out the hot glue gun and got the cut out doll dressed. Hope his teacher liked it.

I can't seem to get the photo of the doll to show up here so you'll just have to use your imagination unless I can get Mike in here to show me how to do it - again.

The previous owner had the kitchen re-done and he put in a Thermadore range with 6 burners and a huge oven. Suddenly the light in the oven wouldn't work. Turns out there are 2 of them in the back that require special bulbs. Of course. Gotta be a contortionist to get to them, Looks like he must have had a fire in the oven because the seal looks burned. So, the repair guy is supposed to be here at 11:00 to replace the bulbs and seal. I'll have to get him to show me how to take the oven racks in and out too. I think they make things complicated so the homeowner has to call a repair guy.

Hey, I just found out that I can dehydrate fruit in my oven! Of course the oven would have to be on for 9-15 hours. The repair guy said he uses an air fryer that's much quicker. I don't have one of those. Guess it would be worth it if I did 3 full racks worth of fruit, Thermadore doesn't advise doing meat due to "food safety concerns" Huh? Isn't that how jerky is made? Maybe it has to do with the temperatures required?

Hey, I just found out that I can dehydrate fruit in my oven!

My stove went out last Summer and it was not worthwhile to repair .. so, I bought a new stove over the 4th of July holiday time since that's when they are generally cheapest .. 'it slices, it dices, it makes Jullien fries .. ' .. not really, but it did replace my convection unit and my air frier since it has those built in .. I think it will also braid your hair

Winning ..
