Good morning.

Tuesday night I had a scratchy throat and woke up with a cold including laryngitis. Mike is probably thrilled that I can't talk much. Ha Ha. I guess this is expected with Fall colds going around. Hux has been out of school for 2 weeks with a fever until his mother demanded a chest x-ray. Yep. He's got pneumonia. He got started on some meds and this morning he woke up fever free!! Finally. His brother is coughing now and our other grandson has been out of school this week with a cold.

This morning we're waiting for our contractor to show up and replace our gutter guards. With all the trees around us we certainly need them.

We woke up to 45 degrees this morning and only going to 68 today. My plants are all inside now, I'll be taking down the hummer feeders very soon, Haven't seen any for awhile now. Sad to see them go, but they'll be back next Spring. My garden is cleaned out except for the radish seeds I planted. Never planted a Fall garden before so we'll see how this goes.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Friday!!

Morning, all.

Cool and cloudy here, but not expecting rain.

Good they (finally!) got Hux on the right path!

Removed mine and replaced last Spring .. took me some time, I'm just not as good as I once was .. very happy with the new guards and saved some real money ..

At my 6 month check up on Wednesday, I got the Covid and the Flu shot .. had to get a Moderna Covid, though all I'd ever had before was Pfizer .. they said it was OK since I had not had a Covid shot in at least a year ..

Problem was, nurse hit them both in the same arm .. still a bit sore .. oh, well .. whateryagonnado .. ??

Got mine a week ago and I swear I have never had two shots hurt so much, so quickly. My arm was burning before I left the pharmacy and was swollen and red for days.

Really? I got both about a week ago. One arm for each. The right arm was a bit tender, but that went away by the second day.

I only got a flu shot at my Dr check-up visit a couple weeks ago ... the needle was so thin I didn't even feel it going in or out. No sore arm or anything. Te didn't have the RSV shot so I'll have to get that at the local pharmacy.

Mike doesn't like heights and I'm not about to climb up there. This guy has done some great work at our daughter's house and ours so I trusted him. He also put on our new roof. His prices are great and this work had to be done. So, now it's done and we can get on to thinking about screening in the small deck next year. The landscapers are coming next week to talk about what to plant and where. We'll see what his bill is going to look like. Sheesh. We already took out a lot of the old bushes and the river rocks that encircled all the flower beds so that work is done.
The front of the house looks empty and sad right now. I just don't have the energy to do the big stuff anymore.

You might want to let your doc know about your reaction to the shots. You might be allergic to something in them. My sister had that happen to her arm and they told her not to get the shot anymore. Don't know what she did instead.

The aurora was visible in our area the past 2 days. We have so many trees around us we can't see much of the sky, but I was able to see the pick glow through the trees about 10:30 Thursday night. Last night there were clouds in the way so didn't see any of it, but someone posted pictures taken at a lake about 20 minutes from here and it was quite beautiful.

Last night Mike got a call that looked like it was from the home office of our credit union. They asked him if 2 purchases on Mike's card were legit. No, they're not. After more discussion they asked for his member number to verify who he was. The guy seemed frustrated that we wouldn't give him that number. 2 people that spoke to us had accents which was unusual so Mike hung up and called our fraud dept of our credit union and nope, that call did not come from them. Definitely fraud. Geese, I can see how people could be taken in on calls like that. They have just enough info that you'd think they were legit.

They were techie scammers for sure ... they new my name, my email address, the name of my credit union, and they even spoofed the incoming phone number to show the correct city, state, and telephone# of our credit union. At one point the 'voice' said if you don't believe we're from your credit union google you credit unions telephone# and compare it to the incoiming number. That will prove we're from your credit union. I thought, no it won't, it's well known that telephone#'s can and are spoofed all the time.

Damn I hate scammers and spammers. I can only assume there was a data breach at the credit union that revealed names, phone#'s and email addresses. Luckily it didn't include our account number.

Yep, you did the right thing. Then hanging up and calling the REAL CU.

Heck, I've gotten spam calls where the caller ID had MY name and number... no, didn't answer! I don't need any electronics to talk to myself :)

Normally I don't answer calls if I don't recognize the number, but I did recognize this one. I just figure if the caller doesn't have ALL of my info they've got to be scammers. This guy asked for our member number - dead give away.

I've had some unidentified calls come in that were legit, but I figure if it's real they'll leave a message. It's frustrating when you're expecting a call back and might not recognize the number.

Yeah. Wish the legit ones gave their real identities. We get calls now and then from our docs, and most of them show up as "Washington." Uh, really??

    Good morning.

It's only 43 outside right now going all the way up to 59 today. Tonight and tomorrow it'll be in the high 30s so I'm glad I got the plants moved inside. Guess I can take down the hummer feeders now. Haven't seen any since the last 2 lone little guys visited over a week ago.

Yesterday was pretty blustery so there's a ton of red leaves littering the ground. Mike will be out with the blower again I'm sure.

Guess I should bring out some Halloween decorations. People in our cul-de-sac don't decorate much at all and we only get the 3 little kids from across the street trick or treating so the holiday here is kind of a bust. Oh well, it still looks nice with all the trees decorating our neighborhood with their colorful leaves.

    Morning, all.

Dang, the guessers got it right, and the atmo river has arrived. About time.

Spent a beautiful Sunday afternoon yesterday making sawdust and wood chips in the garage.

And now that it's Wednesday, have you assembled those pieces? Into? ;)
