Morning, all.

Rain continues. We seem to be at the "low" end of it, only a couple inches. Parts north and NW are looking at several. Nice start to the rainy season. :)

For his birthday, I took Perry to Carolina Theater here to hear Eric Gales. Fantastic guitarist. It looked sort of like a nursing home event because everyone was our age or older. We had a wonderful time.

Made more chicken broth this weekend. You just cannot beat $4.98 for a rotisserie chicken at Samsclub. I doubt I could make them that cheap or that good, for that matter. I have really gotten into bone broth. It may possibly replace my morning coffee.

Had my first disposable vape. Only took 11 years and 5 months (I didn't include the days but you know I have them)

On impulse, I bought a few flavors because they were on sale. When I first met Perry he was on Chantix but that did not work well. My strong vape made him coffee something awful but he liked one of the 3 I bought. I am keeping my fingers crossed that it will help him stop smoking. The price of ciggies alone would make me want to.

I have not mixed any flavors in a long time so I imagine that is why I found them all tasty. I am not sure how long they last yet. It say 9000 puffs but who knows. I suck pretty hard so I doubt it last that long. We will see.

Hope everyone has a peaceful Sunday.

Oh, I am so glad the eye surgery went well Mike. I have been waiting on them for years because the doctor said he could get me better vision than I have with glasses. I have never had 20/20. Last time I had my eyes examined, he said I had the beginnings but not to get too excited that it would still be a while. I can't wait.

Continued good luck with the peeper, Mike.

Good luck!

I suspect the disposables are higher nic than what you mix, but also probably not free base, so the "hit" feels different. Hope it does the trick!

How beautiful, as far as the eye can see.

Gotta love those cheap rotisserie chickens! Sometimes I'll buy 2, pull the meat off and make broth out of the rest. It's so nice to have some in the freezer to pull out whenever. The broth I buy at the store doesn't have nearly the good taste.

Yeah, they were watching Mike's for a couple years and then suddenly they were ready. I didn't know I had cataracts until a check-up. I thought the doc was crazy, but boy what a difference after they were replaced. I have no idea why they develop the way they do. Mike has his 2nd eye scheduled for 11/6. So far he's doing fine after the 1st one.

Morning, all.

Was this just a different time or a different universe than we live in today? :?:

Maybe both?

I didn't know I had cataracts until a check-up.

Yep, they tend to sneak up on you. Pretty much how my wife "found" hers some years back. For months she'd been cleaning her glasses, well, hourly, since her vision always seems to be blurred. Kept blaming it on fumes from her sun screen... nope ;;)

All this talk about glasses / cataracts .. I guess I've just been lucky .. yeah, I have glasses hanging around my neck for reading, etc .. no problems with distance vision and at my eye exam 3 months ago, no cataracts .. in fact, the eye DR made a point of how good my eyes looked for my age ..

I did think I was having some hearing issues (besides my near lifelong Tinnitus) .. GP said get one of those earwax flush kits and do it a couple times a day for a few days ..

I won't gross anyone out by describing the ear wax that popped out, suffice to say, using q-tips was probably a bad idea ..

'It's a Miracle, I can hear again .. '

Well, I could hear before, just had to crank it up to 11 ..

Good beautiful morning from here. Going up to 77 today with plenty of sunshine. It's a good day to finish cutting down the butterfly bush. It's gotten out of hand.

Wow Willie, you're doing great. Don't pass up the check-ups though. Those cataracts are sneaky little things. You don't know they're creeping in there until one day the doc says you need to get the old peepers fixed. I told the doc she was crazy until I had mine done. Mike was surprised too. But it's always best to not get them in the first place. You must have good genes, or good luck - do you play the lottery?

I am so tired, sorting this vape stuff. Filled a garbage can, sold a bit and now down to 2 big tubs plus a couple boxes. I have room in my closet, lol

Next up is getting rid of about a thousand flavors I don't use.

Why are you getting rid of your vape stuff? Did I miss something? Just making room or are you done vaping?

Too much stuff and probably moving back to WA state next year. I am tired of dragging it around and have enough for a few lifetimes. At my age, I need to downsize as I can't possibly use all this stuff. I don't plan to ever quit vaping but arthritis keeps me from using the heavier mods/tanks. I have narrowed down to my favorites and it is still a lot of stuff.

Thanks for asking. As she says in Matlock, "older people are invisible" so no one in my circle pays any attention to my vape stuff.
Isn't that the greatest show, btw? I just love Kathy Bates and she is excellent in that show.

Well, I have not been very busy this week. My knee started hurting Sunday and got worse as the week progressed. Finally, I called the doctor yesterday and they suggested the emergency after-hours clinic of an orthopedist.

She removed almost 2 tubes of fluid (which did help) but she suspects I have a meniscus tear.

I wake up every time I move so I'm sleeping less than normal. I hope it feels better today. I go back in a week. The bad news is I have to wait 6 weeks for insurance to cover the MRI she wants to do. That makes no sense to me. Then again, a lot of things confuse me.

I am just going to take it easy. It has been a while since I did that.
