    It's not funny .. ;)

They need to equip these things with a 'monkey bar' mounted securely above the drivers side door, with which to grab onto in both getting in and out ..

Trucks I've owned have always had a plethora of grab handles, here and there ..

Some years back, when I was in SoCal for some tech work, I rented a Tesla .. did not really give a lot of thought to ground clearance, etc .. my, oh my, how flexibility can gradually erode .. I guess I should follow my DR's advice and start Yoga or Pilates .. or even Zumba .. (not)
I use one of these which also works to break windows in case of emergency.

You know, given your love of music, you might like Zumba. I conned my DH (74 yrs old) into trying it a few years ago. Zumba Gold, the senior version, can be a lot of fun. Between the arm, shoulder, back, knee, ankle, and foot problems, no one in the class is doing quite the same thing at the same time - and that's ok, you do what you can. My DH can't roll his hips (think hula hoop) to save his life, but he does a sassy hip shake left to right instead. Yes, some instructors are better than others. We've been lucky and had one who was awesome. Others have been very good but not quite up to her level for routines or music selection. Most instructors take feedback seriously, when we've told them the music or the routine is lousy, it's not repeated or if musicians or styles are requested, they add it.

This could be us, at a supermarket when a Zumba song comes on

    Could not agree more.

I've got a Toyota Corolla. Used to be easy entry. Something has changed, and it has to be ME. It's a struggle to get my right leg under the steering wheel.

It has been chilly here and we have some teen temp mornings. Burrr We had a tiny dusting during the night but I missed it. I was up every two hours with my back but did not look out the window.

I am feeling better but still hacking. Surely I have lost a pound from blowing my schnoz!

Everyone sent Perry their turkey bones and I have been making bone broth. I made a gallon and a half yesterday. So proud of my tiny accomplishment. I now have a section in Perry's canning goods pantry.

He has been working like crazy. I went one day to help. That is why I was up so much with my back. Did just a bit too much heavy lifting. It is better today and I did sleep last night. Today, I have to go pick up my deer from the processor. Perry told me to put it in my new freezer (which should almost fill it up). YAY!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

Yes, I have a bunch of deer to experiment with my cooking. I liked the cube steak for sure but tonight I am going to try to make meat balls for spaghetti. I hope Perry does not mind but I found some of his canned sauce when I was organizing his pantry. I hope it turns out good. As long as it is edible, I don't care.

Still cold here and they say 19 degrees in the morning.

Good morning. 30 degrees here going up to 38. We had some snow and rain last night, but this morning everything just looks wet. Would have been nice to get a little snow to make everything look pretty.

Yesterday I had my check up and after looking at my blood work results said "You're phenomenal!" This was a new doc and he's young! My regular doc is retiring - the 4th doc we've worn out. This one is only 40 and I love him! He spent an hour with me chatting and going over stuff. Guess I'm not going to look for a closer doc after all.

Had my colonoscopy before T-day, mammo done, dentist done, Life line screening of my arteries done, gyn and eye doc in January. Good grief. I hate running to all these doc appointments. At least I'm getting good news from all of them so I'm grateful for that.

Your deer? Did you go hunting?

Glad you're feeling better with your cold. Maybe you could make some soup with some of that broth you made?

I know exactly how you feel about all those appointments. I live for the day I can tell someone else what day and time we'll do something.

Yep, a good one is worth the extra miles!

Yesterday's low 50s were only 10 degrees high, low 40s. So I'm guessing their same guess for today will have the same result.

Oh, good gracious no. I catch bugs in the house and set them free.

Perry just let me order how I wanted it cut up and he told me to put it in my new freezer so that is why I am calling it mine. Perry buys a license and has a friend that has a lot of land. We call him the day before to tell him we are ready for one and the next morning he calls us to pick it up.

I will say that when they walk through Perry's yard. . . all I see is cube steak.

FYI, the deer meatballs were a hit last night.

It is in the crockpot as I type.

I picked up two rotisserie chickens yesterday at Sams. I think it is going to be delicious on a cold night. It is veggie chicken soup. I think Perry's canned green beans and corn is what is going to make it tasty. But I cut up every thing and cooked the egg noodles. It's mine too!

Got my mammogram over with too! It has been a couple of years so I am late. I still have not scheduled my colonoscopy but it is on my todo list. Have not had one since 2016. A bit longer than 4 years.

I get my knee checked out the 11th and my peepers done in January. Always something to do.

I can't remember if I told y'all my washing machine broke. Gotta get on that soon. I've just been busy as a

Oh no, a broken washing machine. That's an emergency!

Yes, we're staying very warm. We've got the first fire of the year going in the fireplace, Boy does this thing put out the heat and it burns the wood thoroughly. No chunks of partially burned wood to clean out, just ashes.

    Good morning Fran.

It's 26 this morning but we're going up to 39 with maybe some sun so it shouldn't be too cold.

I dug out the rest of the carrots from the garden and they were fine but the radishes didn't fare as well. Too bad. I do miss being able to pick tomatoes from the garden, but I guess it's now just something to look forward to next year. I just might try starting some plants from seed in Feb.

Our woodpecker is back. He drums at the chimney to mark his territory. Try as we might we've yet to see which bird it is.

Oh, I bet it does. I would love to be sitting beside a fire. Perry took both fireplaces out of his house. I'm not really sure why. At my house, even though it was built in 69, they only had one fire in it. I think the electricity was off. After that, he said it made the rest of the house colder. I suppose it seemed that way. Boy, do I love a fire.

but I guess it's now just something to look forward to next year.
Me too. Perry says he is going to get my tractor going so we can have a small garden next year. I am looking forward to that. I don't think there is much wrong with the tractor. It was working. Probably old gas or a clogged carburetor. It is a 51 Farmall. Kinda cool. Dad loved it.

He drums at the chimney to mark his territory. Try as we might we've yet to see which bird it is.

Here I am think of my dad a bunch. He had a woodpecker on the house and he said he was going to shoot it. I think it is our state bird but not sure. I did not think he could shoot it since he had been retired from the Police Department for so long. I was wrong. Blew his head right off from a good distance. Still makes me sad. I do love the birds too!

It was in the teens when I woke up. I fixed poached eggs, sausage, and fried leftover taters from last night. Not a bad breakfast. I love his sausage. He has a farmer that he orders from. So much better than what I get in the store. He just put in another order. You just cannot beat fresh.

I was so glad that Perry was not going to work today but he is sitting beside me sleeping so it is not much different. Bless his heart. It is hard at our age to work 11 or 12 hrs. It catches up with you.

No plans for today. May go home and check on the house since I have not been there. Hope everyone is staying warm and having a great Saturday.
