Beautiful new flower from Bea! A first-time bloomer too.

Wow, it's gorgeous. Orchids are such amazingly complex flowers. I'm waiting for one of my amaryllis to bloom. It looks like it should be open for Christmas, not that I care a whole lot about that timing, but it would be nice. I'm just happy anytime they decide to put on a show.

Meet Me in St Louie Louie
Blast From the Past ..

Anybody ever hear anything about Sandra (Yiddle) or Johnny (Iffy) .. ?? Or even Kay, for that matter ..

Funny, but I was just thinking about them and Grace. No, I haven't heard anything and don't have private numbers.

I just figured after the 'gang' gathered up and vacationed together in Florida some years ago, at least a Christmas card would be exchanged or an occasional text ..

Guess not

Kay used to call me but it has been some time. I was worried about her and got in touch with her granddaughter on FB. She said Kay was fine but I am not too sure. I keep trying to call and email her but I have heard nothing. That does make me sad.

Me too! Guess we all are thinking the same. I miss them so.

Dropped off the 3rd deer at the processors last night. Boy, my new freezer is getting full. After Christmas, I am going to make some spaghetti since I liked it so well. Perry wants to can it and that is fine with me. I usually freeze it but I think canning is better. Might get him to can some country style steak too! Yum.

I finally get to go for my knee MRI tomorrow. I still hate they said it would take a couple of weeks to get the results read. They are the only ones that I have heard there is a radiologist shortage. Go figure.

I am hoping they tell me it is nothing and will eventually heal. I am sort of tired of it hurting all the time though. Guess we will see first of the year. Boy, isn't that a good way to start 2025? I hope I start the year with a new or fixed washing machine. I haven't thought much about it lately since I just do my wash at Perry's. But it is something I am going to have to do.

Is everyone ready for Christmas? I hate to admit this but I am just not feeling it this year. Maybe I will get more into the spirit when we take the gifts to Perry's 3 grandchildren.

Hope everyone has a nice and relaxing Sunday!

Good morning. 10 degrees here going all the way up to 29 today. Brrrrr!

So, we haven't been here for a few days because Mike is in the hospital. His cold went from bad to worse and spiked temps up to 103.9. Turns out it developed into double pneumonia. He's on 02, getting pumped full of antibiotics via IV and last night started on a nebulizer. Yesterday he felt well enough to take a stroll up and down the hallway, but it doesn't take much to tucker him out. In the ER I was told there is a lot of pneumonia going around this year. Our daughter said at the hosp in DE they were seeing a lot of mycoplasma pneumonia. The cultures aren't back yet so I don't know if that's what Mike has or not, but at least he didn't get septic like they feared.

One thing that surprised me is that they put an IV line in on the back side of his elbow. Genius! That way he's not always getting poked every time he bends his elbow. Much better.

So, I've been holding down the fort here at home and running to the hospital every day so haven't had time to check in here. We're hoping they're going to let him come home, maybe today.

Sorry to hear about Mike but very glad he went to the hospital. Hope he's home soon.

i’mmmm baaacck! Got released late afternoon on Monday. Plans were to get out Tuesday morning. I told the Doc let’s do it now (Monday afternoon) because our weather was calling for snow and sleet on Tuesday and I didn’t want Janet driving in nasty weather. Doc was Ok with letting me go. His quote “the sooner I get you home the sooner you start getting better. The hospital is no place to get better. It’s too disruptive an environment for healing” So poof … I was gone.

Still feeling sickly and as weak as I’ve ever felt in my life. But thankful to be home and on the mend.

    Merry Christmas everyone!
