Life was full of surprises for you today. :(

A restaurant is a good way to do it, and it's quite fair. Everyone pays their share, or pays for their family and whomever they want to include. My youngest sister's 25-year anniversary was at a restaurant; Copeland's. The food and service were great, and we had a large room all to ourselves.

We do a large room off by ourselves. We gotten our own waiter too. Poor guy, we kept him running.

Son here BBL

Hello Sea, My Boo.

Sorry you had that problem. What I do is keep every auto repair receipt in my glove box.

The envelope was too large and bulky for the glove box, so I think I put it in one of the China cabinet drawers. My oil change receipts I always keep in the glove box. I also keep my insurance card in there with my roadside service number on it handy. But then one day I thought, what if I lock the keys in the car, then I won't have the # to get someone out to unlock it, so I added Roadside Svc as a "Contact" on my cell phone ... problem solved.

I'd like to have that to boo-hoo over!

By the way it did snow here last night.

It gets colder in Ill. than 65 in the autumn? If it does, that sounds more like winter ... especially with the snow!

A restaurant is nice. A bit expensive for anyone with large family but we get waited on, cooked for, and no clean up!!!!!!!!!!!!

We used to go to buffet restaurants for celebrations ... no clean-up.

The way I am about "a place for everything and everything in its place", I would have a nervous breakdown over this, as soon as DH was out of sight...... .....even if that "place" means stuffed in a closet!

I don't save enough paperwork to have folders, but I do have a file cabinet ... oh yeah:blush:, I bet that's where my tire receipt is.

Then maybe rotate the latest auto repair receipts for the glove box, and remove the older ones when you get a newer one. IDK which might be more work for you. I only keep the latest oil change, etc. Things like batteries and Tires aren't replaced very often, so they stay on the bottom in the glove box.

Heh-heh-heh! jj ????

Today was one step above down coat!

I always told my Dad that the reason I didn't want to move to Syracuse was because I didn't want to have to dig my car out of the snow every day. But the real reason is, I can't stand to Shiver!!! Been living in the South too long. I know it's a different kind of cold up there, and snow was a big part of that decision. The Beauty of the Autumn Changes might have been worth it, but I told him No back then.

All of my family was in New Orleans then. There's not really much keeping me here now.

VG, it's all relative. When I moved here, I couldn't believe that during the winter, nobody is outside! I still don't get it! All you have to do is dress properly, put toe-warmers in your boots, whatever. I go to the Arboretum to walk and I'm pretty much alone except for the animals. I get out and run as long as it's 15 or above (colder causes breathing issues). It's weird here. I went to Montreal one winter and loved the fact that people were outside doing things.....no matter what the temperature!

Is it unusually cold earlier this year, Lisa, or is that the norm for this time of year?

Yes........yesterday it snowed a little (but melted, the ground is still warm), the first time this early since I think 1930. When I left for Greece it was 80 degrees and two weeks later, pre-winter! Usually it's in the 50's right about now.

I was anxious to get home after work but had to stop at the supermarket to go to my bank inside. A woman stepped right out in front of my car while she was looking right at it ... not an accident. Then instead of crossing the lane, she walked diagonally right down the lane to go to her car.:grr: Why do ppl do insane stunts like that? Then decide to walk down the middle of the lane so you have to creep down after them at 2mph for 20-30 feet? She must have been on Valium. It took every ounce of strength to keep from air-horning her.
