Dad goes all over the place alone and has these

Once he went to the bank and the lady teller had to call mom

I'm not supposed to know he has them
I know, there's not a thing you can really do in that situation. If he doesn't want you to know. :) Course, there's really not a thing you can do even if you do know.

Good mornng Dale.

Good morning to all the lurkers in fact.
Good morning Bobbi

Well, it's a beautiful day here. DH headed back to the lake, he gave me a pass and insisted that I not go. He said he's just going to go clean up some.

So, I'm going to go outside and maybe pull a few weeds. I know it may sound like work, but it's really therapeutic for me. ;)

Just talked to my nephew who's up in Alaska. He's doing great and having the time of his life. :D

He was telling me about seeing a brown bear yesterday. It was across the river from where he and some others were hiking.
Then he was telling me about the Russian Bear Dogs that they have at the lodge. Had never heard of them be he says they're bad :censored: dogs. They keep the bears away from the lodge area. He said they have three.

Had to google to check them out, they're HUGE!!

Goodness!!! Some look as big as a lion!
I know! Some are pics of other types of dogs, but I think they're the ones that like you said, look like lions.
He said one came up from the woods the other day with a face full of porcupine needles....but he also had the porcupine. They had to take it to the vet so they could put him under and remove the needles.

Good Morning Lurkers :)

I'm already ready for a nap.

Good morning GG!
Good morning Chim!
Oops, I'm 16 minutes late saying that...

Lori those are some big pups! Glad I don't have to buy his feed.

Naps sound lovely to me.

I have 20 rows on a broomstick lace piece done. Too lazy to deal with a broomstick so am considering smaller color blocks and then putting them together to make a queen size afghan. I've made them for others just never for me so maybe I will work off some of these pastels by making one like that. Who knows what they will really become. I thought the dish cloths were a good idea but this yarn is much too fine for something like that. I'll put up a pic a bit later.

In 1983 or 84 Bruce was out in one of the pastures by himself (SE New Mexico where a pasture is apt to be very large) he suffered from heat stroke. By the grace of God and Bruce's gentle hand when breaking a horse, when he fell from his horse Nubbin a 3 year old colt; Nubbin stopped and allowed Bruce to get under him out of the sun until he could get back on. This was repeated 3 times before he made it back to his pick up and water. He managed to drive himself to the ranch headquarters where they called him an ambulance. After 3 days in the hospital and nearly losing him; all 4 of us are much more careful about heat. Each horse broken by any of us can be mounted by either side, will stand fast until you are well seated and will allow you to crawl under him or sit under him without fear. The boys were 8 and 10. I went back to school and got my degrees because I realized I might suddenly be alone one day and have 2 sons to raise.

Being strong is good. Working hard to support your family is important. Taking care of yourself is a sign of your true love for them. I thank God everyday that a 3 year old colt did what a mount in his teens wouldn't for most people and saved the love of my life.

Wow Bobbi, that's an amazing life story!! So thankful you all are such wonderful horse trainers!! That could've easily ended very badly for your husband.

It could have been very bad for all of us. I am so grateful I didn't have to raise the boys by myself. Our lives would have been so very different had that happened! As it was we changed at lot of things about our family life. I went to college and got a much better paying job. The boys were raised going to work with Bruce during the summer break from school until we moved back to Colorado when they were in high school. Christmas became a celebration of Jesus birth instead of a lot of gifts, Easter became resurrection instead of eggs, we found everything we did became a family activity if it could be one.

I guess we all learned life is about being with who you love instead of struggling to have more to give to who you love. It was a good thing for us although at the time, it didn't seem all that good! God is amazing and one of the greatest of all of His gifts are those who love us.

Oh my, I'm getting way too serious here. Sorry!

Not yet Bobbi, home for the night now though so I'll be heading to bed soon.

How ya doin?

I'm good thank you. You get some rest, I'm sure you need it. Stress can be exhausting.

I'm just sitting here watching the thread and crocheting a bit here and there. Pretty much a lazy day here today.
