Oh no!! Refresh me, who is Benji???
Opps! Sorry, that would be DD & her SO's youngest boy.

Girls I'm getting off at 5pm. Sacraficing a good chunk of overtime but that's ok
So glad to hear it hon

Being strong is good. Working hard to support your family is important. Taking care of yourself is a sign of your true love for them. I thank God everyday that a 3 year old colt did what a mount in his teens wouldn't for most people and saved the love of my life.
What a sweet story Bobbi, thank you for sharing that :)

    hello again peoples :)
    Hello again ;)

Not yet Bobbi, home for the night now though so I'll be heading to bed soon.

    How ya doin?
Sweet dreams Welsh. Let us know about your Grandfather when you know more.

It could have been very bad for all of us. I am so grateful I didn't have to raise the boys by myself. Our lives would have been so very different had that happened! As it was we changed at lot of things about our family life. I went to college and got a much better paying job. The boys were raised going to work with Bruce during the summer break from school until we moved back to Colorado when they were in high school. Christmas became a celebration of Jesus birth instead of a lot of gifts, Easter became resurrection instead of eggs, we found everything we did became a family activity if it could be one.

I guess we all learned life is about being with who you love instead of struggling to have more to give to who you love. It was a good thing for us although at the time, it didn't seem all that good! God is amazing and one of the greatest of all of His gifts are those who love us.

Oh my, I'm getting way too serious here. Sorry!
That's okay, we all get serious here sometimes. ;) Nothing wrong with restructuring your family life as things change, and different things become more important. :)

That is WAY COOL!! I really wanted to learn how to make glass beads, using a very similar process, but was always afraid I'd wind up with two bloody stumps for hands. But oh so fun to watch!!!
Did you and your mom ever see anything like that done at Branson?? We did, but I think it was at Silver Dollar City, and I was pretty small, but do remember the glass blowers, and the men working the hot iron making horse shoes, I believe.

You know, we never went to Silver Dollar City; I wanted to but Mom didn't so ...
So no, I've never seen it done in real life :(

We used to go to Mexico every time company showed up to visit when we lived in NM. There is a place called the glass factory over there that has pretty much all the things you can dicker for in Juarez and an excellent restaurant (best ever chili con queso soup in the whole wide world). They have several glass blowers working at any given time making anything and everything. Even through heavy glass walls it is hot there but you can watch them as long as you can stand the heat. Even DH's mom and dad bought a set of glasses after they watched them make them. Mom still has a couple of juice glasses left from her set though mine all got broken years ago. It was fun when all the people watching would start trying to guess what they were making. They would work for a while, put it back in the fire and to get it hot enough again and then pull a bit more here and a bit more there and poof something beautiful would appear! I hadn't thought about that in years now. :)

Gosh, I bet I couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 when we went.
Next time you're up when you have free data time, do a search on You Tube for Glass blowing, really cool to watch. I haven't checked, but I'm sure there will be videos....they have everything else under the sun on You Tube.
