Happy 4th of July to everyone!! :)

Morning all!

...30 years since HS for me. ;) I skipped my reunion last month. No one I truly felt the urge to go visit with.

Jeff, we miss you too!!!

Hope you sleep/slept well Torey!!

Morning Dale  You all ready for your big day??? Hope it all goes well for you sweetie!!!

I'm just sitting here vaping. Just finished my breakfast, am going to finish my coffee, then get dressed and ready to head over to the lake. DH just left. We're not going to stay there tonight though. :)

Bobbi, did you find some basic crochet info yet?? There should be all sorts of things available online.
I know that even on You Tube there are videos for crocheting and for knitting.

Just looked and here ya go.

Good morning Bobbi and Lori, how are you ladies today? :)

Guess I'm ready Lori ...
Not too bad. :) It's an absolutely BEAUTIFUL day here (again). I think it got down in the high 50's last night!!!
I tell you, Rita was about a basket case by the time we went to bed last night. Went to bed around 10:30, and could still hear people setting off small stuff. Course it didn't keep me awake at all, I think I fell asleep as soon as my head hit the pillow. :)

okay, off now for a bit.

Good morning Lori! Happy 4th! I know how to crochet, just haven't done it in forever. My pintrest has so many patterns that I truly do need to get serious and practice up. I just struggle so with reading patterns for some reason. I even know how to knit somewhere back in the darkest corners of my mind. We had lessons when we were little girls an a few times back in the past I have gotten around and done a bit. I'm just lazy since I always had someone else to read for me. Then too it was always afghans or scarfs so it was repeating instead of having to count so much and pay attention...

Don't work too hard today! Sponging isn't so bad, kind of like cleaning the kitchen counter, then cleaning it again, and again...:) Be careful on your drive and stay safe!

Good morning Dale! How are you feeling today? Hope you slept well?

All is good here. 2 more big mice last night, both on one trap! Yikes where are they all coming from and why in the summer! I'm ready for them all to be gone! Does look like we are getting the best of them though! (fingers, toes, ankles, all available body parts crossed!)

My big plan for today is starting a roast, making my bed and putting the laundry I folded yesterday. That should be doable right?! :p

Would think that would be "doable" yes ;)

I was a bit confused at first how you got two mice in one trap, forgot you're using the stickie's

Well I am now dressed and the bed is made so 1 down and 2 to go!!:p

Turns out family dollar has them for $1 a package and they are quite large. 2 good size ones, back to back; which is a good thing because once a few years back we had 2 facing each other and they woke us up fighting with each other! Each seemed to think the problem was the other one, it was a bloody mess! I know tmi...

Well my roast is in the crock pot... 2 down and 1 to go...

which reminds me of this story...

A young newly wedded woman was fixing a roast. She carefully cut off 2 inches from each end, laying them one on each side of the roast before adding onions, potatoes and carrots. Her new husband watched until she finished before asking why she cut the pieces off. She replied I don't know but that is how my mom has always done it.
Later talking to her mother, she asked why she had taught them to cut the pieces off. Her mother responded, I don't know dear. Call your grandmother and ask her, she's the one who taught me to do it that way.
Calling her grandmother the young woman asked her why their family recipe called for cutting off the 2 ends of the roast. Does it make it more tender or what is the purpose? Her grandmother laughed and replied, well I don't know why you do it but my roaster is small and a full roast won't fit in it if I don't cut it up!

    :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

and that is exactly why I did it, wouldn't fit in the crockpot other wise!;)

Ugh!! I need to defrost our deep freeze :(
Just had to pull everything out to get to a bag of ice ... on the bottom of course!

I really should straighten mine. I have 2 boxes with bottles of nic and 3 other bottles of nic just in bubble wrap and then sealed in heavier plastic. They always seem to be in the wrong spot. Plus nothing is in the right pile anymore. Seems like "people" always think they have to paw through everything to see if something else is there... Umm if it looks like a pile of arm roasts it's a safe bet it isn't a steak... if it looks like a t-bone it isn't a round steak the 2 don't even begin to look alike, I mean really? I am OCD, if you were there when I put it in you know that I stacked them exactly by cut because you watched me... Now you tell me you were looking for ice cream, butter or something else and it just tipped over...REALLY???

I know exactly what you mean. I used to do more involved patterns. When I was in high school, I made a whole set of Strawberry Shortcake dolls (three or four of them), the strawberry one, blueberry, ??? lemon....can't remember all the different dolls now. The heads were the soft plastic whatever that stuff was, so the heads were the actual trademark Strawberry Shortcake msde., the bodies and clothing, shoes  were all crocheted and stuffed.

....NOW, I only do granny square type throws/blankets. Easy to pick up and put down, only a few stitches to remember and count too. You don't have to refer to a pattern to figure out where to go next...just a whole lot easier. Kind of boring sometimes, but I get the satisfaction from the actual crocheting part, just a relaxing rhythm and repetitive type motion.

I do have another pattern that I love for scarves. The first base row is just a chain stitch, I'll have to find my pattern to say how many to start with though. But the rest of the time you alternate double crochet, with single crochet. It forms a really interesting and pleasing pattern, and it has a nice flow and rhythm to it also.

Thanks for the well wishes!! I won't work too hard, I promise. :D

Well, I'm heading out. If I can muster a data signal out there, I'll try to pop in later, but I never know if I'll have one or not. :)

Have a wonderful rest of the day everyone. :)

Nice site Lori! Just a few quick seconds of video and my mind was straight on which was single, double, etc. That is my actual problem, I can never remember how many wraps for which stitch! You'd think by this point in life it would have found a spot to stick by now!
