Well some of it is stock piling we have quite a lot. More than that DH is a bit of a hoarder and likes to have lots on hand. I think I could go a couple of years at the least on nic. I contacted the politicians and received the nice reply that means, I've written you a letter that really means nothing because if it will help me I will destroy you and smile doing it... I've gone through the same thing with them over the VA in the past. They write nice letters then they stab you in the back. But I did my part for what little good it will do. I do sound a bit of a cynic don't I...
When it comes to politics and politicians I think that it's a good idea for "we the people" to be cynical.

LOL I love genealogy. I've got one line traced back to the 1100's but I haven't done anything in over a year. The most famous relative is King Edward "Longshanks" both of my mothers lines and one of my fathers lines traces back to 3 of his daughters. So he is a 3 time Gpa. :) I could talk hours about genealogy so I completely understand. ;)

We are related! Shirt tails no doubt but Longshanks is in ours also! I believe it was mom's dad's side. :)

The first time I got that in my line I thought it was cool then the second time I got him I thought OH no I've crossed lines somewhere so I went back and checked everything and it was a completely different daughter. Then the third time with yet a different daughter I was shocked. :)

I lucked out and found the name of siblings on a 3 great grandma's stone so was able to use it to locate some census that they had mis-spelled her name on. Never know when it will help you out.

I've never dealt with any Canadian records. Do they have good census or access to some other form that is good?

OMG my grandpa Stone just passed away in May. LOL

Ooops I'm bad I just realized you meant headstone. LMAO

There are a number of sources in Canada and there is excellent information on Acadiens on the internet. Those who keep those records, want the Acadien descendents to know who they are.

Acadia or Acadie, as the French Canadiens call it, was taken over by the British in the early 1700s, during Queen Anne's War. In the the early years of the French and Indian war, the French in Acadia were exiled by the British and Acadia was renamed Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and northern Maine. Some descendents have moved to Nova Scotia and fly the Acadien flag over their homes.

The Cajun flag is similar, but also has the Spanish Castile or castle and the French fleur-de-lis on it.

Thanks again, Balwin. I will have to check that out. Except for some Cajun relatives, my family was in Canada, until the early 1890s.
I bookmarked that site, that you just gave me.

There is also a site for military graves located here:
Nationwide Gravesite Locator

Here is a place to find Quartermaster records (I found a relative here that was a teamster and turned out he is buried at cemetery from Custer's last stand, had no idea just had a letter that said he died at Fort Keogh in Montana)
Records of the office of the Quartermaster General [OQMG]

Don't know but one of them might help you in some way.

I didn't know men could multi-task
I didn't know we could either [emoji12]

In all reality though no human can truly multitask. Our brains can only focus on one task at a time. What our brains are good at it multitask skipping. Rapidly focusing on multiple things one thing at a time that seems like multitasking to our brains. Sorry lol I did a report on human brains and multitasking in high school [emoji41]

If you find royalty anywhere back there you will link to most all royalty in some way as they always intermarried. It was the only way to keep the linage royal. Also if anyone in your family has hemophilia that is probably where it comes from. Once upon a time it was a disease of the royals... why they couldn't have just left us money... but no, a great medical condition instead.

Do y'all just do your record keeping on paper or do you use a genealogy program? I use the Legacy program. I researched for a year on how to properly do record keeping before I even started doing research. :) Then I went gungho racing back in time then I scratched that and started over because I didn't keep the best records when I found something I'd get excited and sidetracked. LOL So I started over and stayed focused and detailed my records. :)

It's easy to multi-task. All we have to do is separate the two halves of our brains. LOL

I found a site that detailed how to petition your heritage if you could prove your link they will give you a title. LOL I'd be afraid I'd be Princess of Warts or something. They have some strange titles. :)

I keep a record of my maternal grandfathers side on paper. It's the most interesting side of my family, since my English/Scottish ancestor was a soldier (some say officer) in the British Army. He came over with the British invasion force, during Queen Anne's War and settled in Acadia.

Princess of Hogwarts would be kool !!!!! LOL

I have heard that my French ancestors were nobility. One of these days, I may go there and claim the throne of France. I want to live in Versailles Palace and have lots of money to spend and give away to the needy.

Based on DH's ability to keep up with 2 tv with a different football game on each, a radio with another one and a laptop with stats and videos of Lord knows how many others I don't know what you want to call it but he certainly keeps track on more than I can! He does the same thing with Fox news, CNN and laptop news sites so it isn't just football! I suspect males have been falsely accused on this count! :?:

Would that be the top half or bottom half? Because I always thought if the bottom was in control the top half completely stopped working. :p

I use Legacy also. I started years ago with a different one but when I reached 10,000 it gave me an error and said I couldn't add anyone else. There are close to 10,000 in the Heikes Red Book, The Decedents of Nathan Spicer also has a huge tree so that was only my mom's side. Legacy allows you too continue on as far as I can tell. I have 23,360 in the tree I am working on and haven't added the last few years of babies... have let it go since my mom passed away.
