Alright, I can't stand it anymore! Tired of crappy auto batteries and juice in my mouth...

I'm getting the 510.

Anyone know where I can find a white manual starter kit with a PCC on the same site? I'm looking at heaven-gifts right now, which is a great deal, but no charging case and it only comes in black. Not a deal breaker, but not what I'd prefer.

Thanks so much for all the great advice in this thread. :) Wish I'd listened to you all earlier, lol.

For White, Totally wicked has them in stock. TECC Titan 510 and they have white atomizers also. Just not the best prices. But if you really want white that would be the way to go. I picked up some white ones from ChoiceVapor. Had trial packs (1 atty,1battery,USB Charger, 5 carts) for 23 dollars with 30 percent off. Not sure if they are still in stock though.

Ruyandirect.com has good prices. Just picked up a bunch of atomizers for $6.00 each. Shsss, our secret.

Ruyandirect. Starter kit 43 dollars. Only thing is I didnt' see passthroughs or PCC's there.

Okay, 150 bucks later I have a starter kit on the way from e-smokey treats, and a PCC from the Widow. Went with e-smokey treats mainly because of Terraphon's great video review, and the fact that they're US based -- I hate waiting for parts! Love the widow's shipping price -- you can't beat free. :) I also splurged on a passthrough, which I hope will be worthwhile...not sure if I should have gotten that, or a third battery instead. Time will tell I guess. I'm just hoping this will be the last model I'll have to try! I want to stop getting starter kits and start getting back-up supplies and fun DIY liquid stuff. Enough of this tomfoolery. :p

The supplier list was definitely a huge help, thanks to all who contributed to that. Saved me a lot of google searches. :)

edit: Wanted to add that I'm justifying all this to myself (not to mention my husband) with the fact that today is my 30th day of being smoke free! Woo!

I expect you'll be happy once you get used to the 510, and really, there's not too much to adjust to, just the manual battery.

The USB PT is a godsend, although the wiring's kinda way too thin..am waiting on a 'universal' passthrough from Puresmoker, versus buying another 510 PT, but I don't regret buying the 510 PT (or PCC< just got a second one) one bit.

Of course, we want a review once you finally get it, after this hugely long thread.

(I actually do kinda agree, and the 401 is nice, just different :) )

    Well I only have a 401 (EVO)...
    3) Dipping! I can't imagine fussing around with droppers and all that nonsense. Just dip the atomiser in the juice and carry on vaping. I just carry around an EVO (or two) and a contact lens case of liquid. Compared to the carts and droppers and bottles other people lug about it's a piece of cake. Less paraphernalia than I carry as a regular smoker in fact.
I have only been using 510 since I got it few weeks ago, but this thing about dipping makes me really want to try the 401 model. I am topping off the 510 cart all the time, and this dipping method just sounds so much more convenient.

dipping is nice, 401's are nice, but, it doesn't hit real hard.. It's convenient, it will last you all day long, it vapes the flavors truer than any other model (i think the atty's fire a bit cooler, preserving flavor MUCH better than other models)..

    BUT!!

I'm still considering a 510..... had a dream about one last night... that's pretty bad (and weird too).. I woke up and all i could think was "must get a 510"..... weird..

I will say ALL of my 4081's (which honestly seem similar to the 510), hit WAY better than my 401's do... a 4081 on a p/t is more than i need...

Maybe i should just stop now.... I'm not really a collector, up until now... not liking that guilty feeling everytime i buy more e-cig stuff i don't really... NEED, per se...

I have a new 510 (my first e-cig) and I've got to say, if the m401 retains liquid flavor well & the battery lasts all day, then the two models are probably about on par. The 510 has a great throat hit & lots of vapor, but I find myself swapping batteries very often (every 2hrs of light use), it's juice hog, and the flavor only comes through strong when dripping. It's great, but it's not perfect, and it seems like the m401 succeeds where the 510 falls short, and vice-versa.

Personally, I get much more flavor from my 510 than I did from my 401...

If you are a 401 owner, it is easy to justify purchasing a MANUAL 510... I could not use my 401 in my car without the auto battery constantly turning itself on... that is why I purchased my first MANUAL 510. However, I found the 510 so superior, that I gave up on the 410 altogether.

My wife was an even bigger 401 fan that I was... she tried my 510 a few times, now the 510 is all she uses too...

The 4081 is under rated, but it doesn't hold a candle to the 510. Its main drawback, IMO, is that the carts are miniscule. But it does give a nice hit, and I like the stealthy look of it for certain situations.

That is about the right summary IMO. I like the 510 when I need a fix, but I have gone back to the 401 as my primary vaper. I like to dip (even with the pen or the 510 I still don't like carts), I can't trust the 510 batteries if I am kicking back away from the charger for a while in a situation where I know I will be puffing away (even with the PCC), and I get a better flavor out of the 401. I don't know if it is about more flavor but the 401 has a better flavor IMO and definitely allows for the more subtle flavors to come through. With the 510 I can't tell the difference between Turkish, Camel or Kent. They all taste tobacco, but with the 401 they are all very different. Really though if you like carts and vapor and don't puff like your life depends on it the 510 is great. For me its different tools for different jobs. For others it is different tools for different preferences. Also I think the 401 requires more of a learning curve to get teh best out of it while all you need to learn with the 510 is to let go of the button every once and awhile and not bake the snot out of everything.

I guess after reading all of the posts on this subject I to need to throw my 2 cents in. I first started on a RN4081 "POS" I then moved on to the 901 Nice PV. Then went to the M401 and the 801, 801 happy with 401 POS. Picked up a 510 from E-SmokeyTreats a few weeks ago. I feel embarrased, angry, and disgusted that I did not pick the 510 up sooner, all of the others are just toys the 510 is a vapor god!!! Yes the batteries do not last long but head over to Widows and pick up a PCC and you have a machine that will keep you vaping all day and night. Do yourself a favor get the 510 you will not be sorry!!!!

I could not use my 401 in my car without the auto battery constantly turning itself on...

This whole automatic battery thing is going to drive me nuts. I drive a Miata with an aftermarket exhaust and the top down every day. I never had a problem with the 401 batteries from multiple suppliers, but did have a 901 batt try to burn its way through the console. I would have sworn I somehow got all manual 401 batteries. Then my 401 got hot in the car the other day. Drove 20 miles on the highway today with the same battery and no problems! Arrggh!

Anyhow, I now have a 510 on the way. The 401s are by far my favorite so far, so we'll see...

Sorry to cherry pick you comments, Gatsby, I'll try not to take them out of context.

Also this is 401 vs 901 (pretty close to 501)

    I have a 901 and a M401.

The 901 is a blast with just about any mg juice (using 16,24 &36), but like you said the flavors are lost to me other than the really sweet ones like wild cherry. The 36mg juice is almost too strong for me on the 901 when I take a long poke. Chest crush, nose run and watery eyes when I hit the 36 hard on the 901.

36 on the M401 is just right. The flavor of smokey treats RY4 appears and is very satisfying. 24 is a little weak in the throat hit, but I can vape it all day at work on my 401, all the flavors come through. 16 or less however, on the 401 is just flavor and vapor, not very satisfying.

    My 2 dubloons..

Wow. Those are the wisest words on this whole thread! :)

People trying to decide between a 401 and a 510 makes me want to chuckle.

    Yeti invasion at my house!

I'm not going to post a real review till I've had this for about a week, but my 510, PCC, and passthrough all arrived today. :D One thing I didn't realize was how small and pretty it is. They looked really wide to me in the pictures, but the one I'm playing with now is shorter and the same width as my 901. Awesome.

I got a set of white ones, and it's really nice to have something to break up the unrelieved black gothiness of the rest of my collection.

I'm playing around with the passthrough right now, and so far I'm pleased. The taste is definitely *different* on the 510, can't say yet if it's better or worse. I suspect I should let the poor passthrough charge for a while -- anyone know how long the initial charge is on these? -- but I can't help myself. I'm trying to take it easy, at least.

One other question: Can I plug in my second battery to the charging case for its initial 8 hour charge? Or should I stick with the wall charger? The PCC is on its first charge right now too, and I don't want to stress it out. Trying to do everything right this time.

Signs look good on this one overall. I wish I hadn't screwed around with my four (four!!) other models before this. The 510, at least in looks and first impression, is *exactly* what I was looking for.

Although the manual battery is definitely weird.

    More later!
