WOW. Just wow. Have adjusted to the new squonking method...seems I have to squonk a little more often than with regular attys.....don't mind one bit. And I've been using 357s lately, so I'm used to sound...gurgles...even when I'm just straight vaping (not just blind squonking, I mean)....this is different. No sound. It has a really soft draw (love it) that produces ENORMOUS vapor. I'm getting more nic than I'm aware of because it's so smooth. So far I'm really loving this.

I have better performance if I just give the bottle a firm squeeze. I am thinking when I replace the coil, to leave tail ends of the wick that way I can get more juice into the Chalice withou flooding it. The tail ends of the wick should absorb the excess juice, maybe giving me more vape time between squeezes. I hope I was clear enough, I know what I mean. :)

That vertical mesh setup is very cool, gonna have to give that a whirl. I made my first coil, came out at 1.87 (I was shooting for 1.7-ish), so not too bad. I used cotton wick - first few pulls had a bit of an off-taste, but it's OK now. It still isn't vaping as well as my carto, but I removed my reducer tube from the feed tube, and have been tipping the Grand up and the draw seems better (the coil was already opposite the air hole). This is a new ball game that will take some getting used-to.

Vertical mode? Well, son of a.....how's it working like that? I'm presuming you've coiled it right into the inlet hole at the bottom of the mod, right?

yep thats what i did. i put it in the inlet hole and it works really good. its like a straw so all the juice just shoots right up so that it saturates really nice.

Hey all,
I have 2 Grands and 2 Chalices' on the way... I read the first few pages and then skipped to the end. So excuse me if I'm being repetetive. I have been a Genny fan for a few months now and last week I read about using 270x270 mesh then 200x200. I have the 270 and the 200 is on the way. My gennys have turned into vaping machines. This stuff can be had at McMaster Carr. Its 304 style mesh then pick what count you want. After reading this thread I cant wait to get these guys rocking. Should be here any day.

For anyone using small diameter cotton wick, you can leave the wick long and wrap it around the posts. It gives a few more good hits before it gets dry.

That looks sooooooo weird. Kind of like a wet worm.
Thanks for the tip!

I can't wait for the post office to open tomorrow!!! I don't have a REO right now but I'm going to try it out on my Provari.
I'm also going to make some low nic juice to prevent a nic OD.

Just got mine set up like this. How do I put this? This is the KING .....! It takes a bit to get it right, but when you do, there's so much vapor... and so much flavor... AND it keeps a decent amount of the liquid that you squonk up at the wick since it is basically plugging the hole. The fine mesh soaks it up nicely though. THIS is what I want in a bottom feeder. GOD I can't wait to get a Reo now...

EDIT: I've got a full bottle in the Bottom Feeder Vapemate, and a 2.6ohm coil running 5.2v on the Provari.

Mine was 2.2ohms. A little high for the Grand, so it's sitting on my VVW for now.

LOL If mine was there I probably would have left it for a bit before tinkering. Mine came with 2 and a half loops on the coil. If I remember correctly it read 1.2ohms. I haven't upgraded my Provari yet, so that was a no-go.

BTW, JUST remembered... If you do a vertical SS mesh wick, be careful about sticking the wick down in the hole. The first time I did it, I accidentally pushed out the positive pin. It goes right back in, but still. When I got it right, the wick was just barely down in the hole... In fact I kinda rolled the mesh at a very slight slant, so the part that fit into the hole was kinda funnel shaped.

In other news... Isn't it considered a genesis if it is a rebuildable atomizer with a vertical ss mesh wick? Or is it only genesis if it has the built on tank?
