Ok still going on the adhesive.. Did my post not factor in? I wrote that I found the exact same in reg soft cap horisontal coil cartos, and that they DONT burn nor taste FOUL? Think your looking the wrong places, cus the bloogs i took apart had the same amount as the kangers and they taste very different.

Diff: O ring made of diff material, its solid white and a bit shorter. So maybe its the entire Oring and when cryx shortened his to rid of adhesive, he solved the prob by the shortening instead?

Just another theori for ya ; )

has anyone had any success with cleaning the fouled cartos? I myself have had prolly eight of the last 2 five packs I opened be unusable. I would hate to toss em .... Ive never cleaned cartos before with alcohol or anything else. I tried the "wet Burn" thingy on one and it just made it worse ... lol. If cleaning them doesnt work, hopefully bloog will replace all the nasty ones once they get this sorted out?

The real moral of the story is that yesterday was my birthday.
I was hoping for a bloog re-stock.
Instead my cat died.
So I replaced her with bourbon.
Woodfords reserve... mmm Sure would go well with some ry4silicone, where's the stock at?

Ohnooo...I'm so sorry to hear about your cat. :( what sucky timing too. damn

I also took apart my Bloog and another brand that I got from my local smoke shop. They are identical, even the o-ring and silicone adhesive are the same. I have never gotten that burnt taste from the store ones like I have from the Bloog. The batteries that I run them on and their threading seem to be the only other differences.

Edit: I stand corrected, upon further examination the Bloog does have close to twice the adhesive as the other one and the little metal post that makes contact with the battery is thicker on the Bloog.
And the coil around the wick of the Bloog is wrapped tighter then on the other.

I've been holding back on posting since I'm tired of being mocked, but I'd like to clarify for you what I did. I shaved the adhesive off the o-ring (or what I have called the silicon sleeve), but that is not what I shortened. I cut the adhesive ring off the inner tube, then slid the tube up a little from the wrappings to compensate for the removed portion. So when you look at it from the mouth piece side, the tube is now recessed ~1/4" down into the wrapping.

If you have cartos that have developed the foul taste, please try removing the adhesive as described and report back your findings. Thanks.

(note: I suppose this is ok, since kanger is a manufacturer and not a "normal retailer")

Wonder if these have these problems?

This blank tasted horribly burnt from the first puff. Couldn't stand it any longer and pulled it apart. Of most interest, there is a distictive burn mark on the sock(I purposely removed one section, in order to get a better pic) the small singe mark on the center pin is where it attached to the sock. The wick appears burnt on one side. The carto was filled with an 80/20 PG/VG juice and tried on a V4L batt that was almost totally discharged.

That's odd. Mine all had a thin fabric wrap around the tube, but yours show a braided sock type thing. Has anyone else seen that? The second pic looks very familiar. Ie. Burnt residue onto the silicone. It should clean off which means something in the carto became quite unhappy and deposited itself there.

The "charring" is apparently norm. My resuscitated ones have developed it again too, but they are still fine. The texture of the wick appears to be different than mine, and none of the leads on my coil were anywhere near that long! Mine just barely, if it all, emerged flush with the battery hole. It sure would have made reassembly easier.

I'm probably the last person anyone would expect to question the pics... Are you sure these are BMF cartos and not the Kangas others have talked about? Are they 1st or 2nd batch?
