...

Thanks for the informative post. You probably saved a few people from committing the same error.

Btw, there is a simple fix to this. The use of a diode inside the charging unit would prevent this from happening. A diode only allows DC current to pass in one direction. I wouldn't be too quick to claiming guilt via user error here.

Richie,

Thanks for the response. What I would really like is some form of response from Janty on this. I've emailed the contact on their website, used their web form (before the site went down for maintenance), and have posted this in the forum. Still no response from Janty. All I want to see is Janty take the responsible actions, and update the user documentation, and consider adding this safety feature to their product.

uhhh, first email a week ago, second email yesterday....nothin. O well, just a waiting game I guess.

Janty's site has been down since the 18th, they expect to be back up and running on the 26th. My fingers are crossed and hoping I can order soon!:hubba:

I have every confidence that JantyUSA will take good care of you in resolving this issue.

Just a word of advice: go with Janty batteries instead. I had 6 spare brand new Ultrafire batteries lying around from my e-cigar days. Fully charged them for 12 hours. I was so excited that I already had spares for my Stick. Unfortunately, they only last for about 5-15 minutes of vaping, and the current is extremely weak at best. I knew that that stated 500mah capacity was overstating it (a review on DX said they were around 300mah), but they feel more like 50mah to me.

My advice is, spend the extra little bit of money and go with Janty's batteries. It means better vaping and less frustration.

Just my $.02

Why change the battery, that battery should last about 6 months, or better. The battery it self lasts about 8 hours, and you can charge it while vaping at home, in the car, and at work. I can not see a reason to change the battery everyday, only but twice a year.

I have found the battery to last about 4 hours or so, if that. Then again I use it constantly.

The only thing I don't like about it is that battery cover. The grooves should have been a little bigger, so a dime would fit. When the warentee expires, I'm going to glue a little dowel or something on there so I don't need a screwdriver to change the batts.[/B]

Hi Ladybug,

An essential piece of vaping kit is a paperclip. The fat end of this is ideal for screwing/unscrewing the battery cover. Hope that helps! :)

Spot on comment Chris!

I bought 10 spare 10440's from Janty Europe and each gives me up to 8 hours use. I use a multimeter to randomly check voltage to make sure their not going bad (had the odd one with capacity issues - simply wouldnt hold charge). Fully charged these pump out 4.2v (+/- 0.2) and I've found the batts hang on to around 3.6-3.8v for the majority of vaping time (6 hours or so). Generally speaking when the battery is exhausted (in the JS) it stops working (LED flashes) at around 3.4v, well within safe discharge limits.

Best advice is if you have batteries that are not charging, not holding charge or are damaged in anyway... throw in the bin... not worth the hassle or potential dangers for what is a pretty cheap consumable.

Yep, third time the new "up date" has been updated. I ordered 2 weeks ago and have nothing yet - no ship email or stick.

I've seen a lot of chatter that we'll all be cared for but the silence is slowly working on my nerves - plus they were OOS and back to pre-orders so I'm really hoping I'm not on that waiting list now.

I have a friend who just got his dura-c order today- I got my stick replacement last week within 2 days of asking for it - They sent it before I sent the old one back -

They are starting to get it together - Unless you have ever dealt with the launching of a new web-site - You can not possibly imagine what an undertaking that is - They are good guys - Always done right by me - Just was a very unfortunate time to order - But it looks like the orders are starting to go out again - Hang in there :)

Ok, I received my Janty Dura auto w/LED today. I was very very excited about it since it's my first e-cig! I procede to take everything out the box ( KUDO'S for the extra carts) and noticed the PCC that I ordered looks like it was used. At a closer look it is a used one, scratches, plug used, I am shocked. If you pay $55.00 bucks you should get a new one! Then I notice that they gave me one white atomizer and one black. Also the plug that charges the Dura is for the Europe model, the plug doesn't work in the U.S etc
I placed my order using Janty Europe, at the time I didn't know there was a Janty USA. So folks I guess I will have to send it back to get the right parts. I need to get extra atomizers and batteries, can anyone help me out with a website in the U.S. that has the Janty Dura auto at a good price?
