With all due respect to other companies out there, Janty is the only company that is truly building a PV from "scratch." Most of the mods out there are just battery cases (I own and have built several) but what they are doing is innovative and will help bring personal vaporizers to the next level. People will hopefully begin to see that these are not crude and rudimentary but beautiful and classy devices. I don't think I can be accused of being a "fan boy" as I only own their atomizers but I do respect what they are doing and look forward to their progression as manufacturers as well as a company. Keep up the good work.

Vary true. they are probably the best company out there. If they just bring out something high volt then they will be sitting comfortably on top of the game.

And another round of answers:

mik, do you know when the baby j will be ready to be sold?
october? november?

I cant say that yet im afraid. As soon as possible we all hope!

Well, if you can't find the beauty in a perfectly-turned down piece of stainless, chrome or aluminum like the Super T, the AdapteveR, the Vapre51, the Silver Bullet, the Pure Smoker mods or any one a dozen mods cranked out by Cisco we don't have much to talk about.

Dont get me wrong, i love shiny stuff. But theres a difference to me in loving something shiny and then buying it because its shiny. I personally dont like the mods you mention there if we are talking looks only - and this is MY personal view; not Janty's not anyone elses.

but in MY personal view - they are nice to look at. They just dont look nice- in terms of what theyre being used for. I think theyre sending the wrong signal. I think they are saying "Look, this is an e-cigarette, and if you want to smoke e-cigarettes you have to be waving a gigantic steel tube (yes i know its not steel but bare with me) - and this is not sexy in my eyes.

Sure if someone made a beautiful aluminium polished / whatever, design - that i liked, then i would probably like it in metal. But i would prefer to have it in plastic - why? Because it weighs less, and i will be carrying this thing everywhere with me; In jeans, in smoking, in shirts.

We wanted an improved JS.

And im working on it.

The solid feel and luxurious look of metal would have been a step in the right direction.

For you. Not for everyone. We have a large, and very diverse customer base. The majority wants stuff to be lightweight and look nice. Also, - if you like metal so much why is your mouse not metal? Or your keyboard? Or your glasses? Or your chairs? Or your toothbrush? Metal is not necessarily equivalent to something being "luxurious" - and speaking of which, we are not creating "luxury" items here, we are creating products that are to be used, for the masses. But, again, I respect your opinion - and if you really want something in metal, its nice that there is alot of home modders and small business out there at the moment, doing just that: Metal mods.

I respect your opinion and understand your purpose here in the forum, Mik. I just whole-heartedly disagree with you. From the looks of the "Would you buy a Cameo" poll, I'm not alone.

And thats why we are putting it on hold and completely redesigning it based on what you guys said...

Here ya go, Mik. A whole new niche. Custom made e-cigs. Anyone who is so into 'their own needs, and anything else is crap' mindsets... Have a custom design division. Here you go, one all metal, ___, ___, and ___ (fill in your own blanks) $1000. 00 and free shipping. Six weeks from order, to fulfillment, to your door. I like it!

Im afraid the price would be higher than that.. :) Just for the fun of it, i can tell you that the mould for a 801 cartridge is 2000 euros. And thats 2000 euros until you get it right - if its 0.1/0-2 mm off, its useless. I know you are talking once off productions, and i do think someone out there could build a business on it, but the sell price of each item would be high - it involves alot of time making the design, buying pieces, testing pieces, integrating pieces - and then the mould: If you are not going to make a mould of it for mass production you would be forced to do it in metal - and then were back at square one.

What I really like are the mods where you can use different battery setups to change the voltage. Please look into that and see if you can incorporate it in the Baby J. Give customers the choice whether to vape at 3.7v or 5/6v.

For the Baby J we are thinking of doing it so you can buy a new battery house for it with a high voltage battery in it.

Also - we are currently trying to change the design a bit, so the customer themselves CAN get access to the battery and change it. We will still retain the battery house idea, but will now let you change the battery inside according to your needs, repairs, and so on.

Again - as a direct result of this post - and your feedback. :)

Hey guys.

I agree with both of you.

There is also a third viewpoint to this:

Maybe we can make a new Cameo based on the ideas and feedback - first without the mp3 player and if that one goes live and is a succes, then maybe we can integrate a version of it, with an mp3 player.

But this board is not the only "Poll" we go by - we have boards all over the world discussing the Cameo - and our result of what we will do, is a balanced view of all those boards. So for now, we are removing the mp3 player, and re-designing the Cameo.

But not to worry - it might even get better ! ;)

Hey Mik, thanks for giving us the opportunity to input in development. Many of us just want a better and more versatile (batteries, voltage, etc.) ecig; yet I can see niche markets being encouraged by something such as the cameo w/mp3 for airport travel or cubicle land where people can say "oh, that's just my mp3 player." Keep us informed.

Just make the usb port/charger the 'cap' to the battery compartment...screw off/ screw on.

Thats a bit harder than you might think - trust me, this was my initial idea.

The only reason there is even a cap there is that i think it would look stupid if youre smoking across someone else, and they see the USB port at the end.

;)

Hee - that would drive them nuts! Almost cross-eyed. Hmmm, could be good grins.

I'm a potential for your concept, I want a toned down device that passes as a Cigar/Cigarette doesn't look like a drug device and has a long lasting battery. Actually the E-cigar was perfect for me except they are poorly designed and I bought two of which neither lasted more than 2 weeks.

I also have tried High Voltage vaping and so far don't like it. I'll be getting a juice that's designed for high Volt Vaping and than the jury will be in.

I think you are on the right path with this device.

Sir, you have certainly hit a home run with that, beautiful

If it could incorporate a 14500 battery it would be excellent.

Im afraid the 14500 battery is not ideal due to its length =/ We have to look into something like the CR123 for starters. But even if thats "only" 600 MAH that should still give you almost double the vaping time of the Jantystick so .. it should be more than enough to be honest.

And who knows, maybe we can do a durable battery house that includes a much more powerful battery as an addon?

We will have to see!

Answers:

Now you're talking. Put the Cameo on hold and get this out ASAP.

It is, and we are ;)

Is the picture posted of the Baby J a rendering or an actual real life pic?

It is a rendering - unfortunately. But i do have some of the other / earlier prototypes of the Baby J here physically with me. They just dont look *that* cool... yet!

Also, Im not talking about the cameo, or baby J specifically- but how long does it take to get from an idea to prototype to production? Just curious on the time line for mass producing e-cigs

Let me put it like this: It can take as little as one month, if everything goes perfect and smooth, or it can end up being a Duke Nukem Forever. Noone knows.
