Well, ive a bit of an update, but its not 100% confirmed yet, but i doubt it will change much.
I looked into changing the design so we could get USB charging while vaping, AND access to the battery - while keeping the USB port at the end of the Baby J - but .. its impossible.
Well.. nothing is impossible i guess, but from a financial standpoint ( amount of work, wires, etc ) it would be suicide to implement both at the same time.
So the two solutions i was forced to pick from was:
1) giving the customer ability to change the battery themselves - but only have USB charging on the "inside" - meaning in order to charge you would have to unscrew the battery house, and then plug it into a USB port -and not vape at the same time or
2) Keep the design as it is, - USB charge from the front, ability to unscrew battery house and also charge it separately, and keeping ability to vape while charging.
And .. i chose 2!
The reasons i chose 2, is that even though i know alot of people have their own batteries, then its a rare thing these days that you do get to mess about with your own components. I mean look at our ipods, cellphones, and what not - they all have built in batteries: Because this allows for much better designs.
And in my eyes, the Baby J is ment as an "exclusive" device, in the sense that its something nice you love to look at, and use. So, i really wanted to keep the ability to vape while having USB plugged in - and also i like the whole interchangeable battery house idea. I am working on a highpower battery house for it now - this means ofcourse, that the whole e-cig will become a bit longer (1-1.5cm estimated), but would give you the option of 6v.
So all in all, im satisfied with it - now i just have to wait and see if there are any complications in making the first "real" prototype of this version - and .. then wait on it being shipped to me!
But, - once i have it, and if it works and all that, ill do a small video preview of it for you guys - so you can get a feel of the size of it!

Well to be honest, if i didnt tell you about it, i wouldnt be open now would i =)

I do think the Baby J will be awesome. Plus, i _might_ have a trick up my sleeve for it.. but i have to see if its possible to do first.

is the 6V option going to be any fatter or just longer?
I like it, it's really attractive! I really like the led ring, will there be led color options?

Yes, - the initial idea is that it will come set to a factory default. If you then wish to change the LED color, you will plug it into usb, then the LED will flash five times in a row, and if you press the power button once during those five times, you will be in LED select mode.
I believe the choices you have will be red, green, blue, and white - simply press power button once to change, and once youre happy with your choice, unplug usb.
If you plug it into usb, and you do not press the button while the LED flashes 5 times, then it goes out of LED select mode and continues operation as normal!

Im not sure yet. Both is an option, but i need to have a physical "copy" of the prototype to see whether or not adding 1.5 cm ( as it probably will be ) will be too long to look at - if it is, ill look into a fatter battery house instead.
In regards to the USB port. Is there anyway to charge from the bottom/base and unscrew the top (with all the electronic guts/switch) like an adapter?

The way it works is that the USB port is located at the end. If you want to charge you plug the USB cable into it there. You can also unscrew the entire battery house and put it on your table or something, and then put the USB cable into the end of the battery house there - charging it, separately from the Baby J.
what you are describing would have been the way to go, if the customer would be able to take the battery out on his own - and also be able to use the USB section.
LED select mode...Hmmm, sounds like a built in time delay before kicking into normal functioning and another source of possible breakdown. But the colors are pretty.

Look at the computer in front of you. That has a billion more functions and its still working isnt it? =)
But yeah, it is more functions - and while unnecessary it would be cool - and i will test it thoroughly first!
hey can you try and include a no led mode as well for those stealth times
The leds are placed so you can hide them with your finger when pressing the button IF you dont want anyone to see it =)
Um <drool> can we just <slurp> get the first, 3.7 volt with current LED shipped pelase?
Thats the version we are making first - the rest is just discussion for addons - such as another battery house etc.
