Can anyone confirm their purchase of a SS MERLIN, from a U.S. site that has BOTH the latest "build deck" oblong juice channels, and WIDER juice HOLES?

I wanted to support SubTankSupply, but they are a honest company and just wrote me back, they only have the first versions with the fixed bases.
I have two of the first versions in black but want to buy a SS version, with the latest updates.

THANKS!

Anyone else here ever used this on a Lavatube V2.5? I just filled mine and went to use it on the lavatube and if I barely screw it down it reads 1.7ohm but I can rock the tank back and forth on the post. If I tighten it more it reads 0.0ohm and doesn't work. I was using it a minute ago with it barely tightened down and it crackled and then read 0.0 again. I have another thread about using the Merlin with silica found here.

Maybe the screw is too thick??? I've heard some people sand it down a bit. Or you could get or make a washer out of plastic to fill the space between the tank and mod. Just throwing some ideas out there.

My gemini has similar gap issues on my eleaf mods and I haven't got around to making anything yet (well, tried one and failed) but I plan on ordering some of these from kidneypuncher if it has similar issues on my rx200s and istick 200 TC - KP Mod Guard - 5 Pack

I found some thin mylar washers at my local hardware store for about $.50, works perfect.

Have another mod to mount it on and check the behavior? Sounds like the 510 connector most likely on your mod. If the Merlin is good on another mod, and any other tank misbehaves on the Lavatube, you'll have found your culprit.

I was able to get it to work. Knock on wood. I won't mess with it anymore, but I had to get a pick and pull up the center pin on the Lavatube. I think my device is just getting worn out. It was pushing the center pin past the rubber o ring in the 510 connector. I pulled the metal plate up a little and pushed the o ring down and it seemed to work. I will be getting a new mod soon so I just need it to last until then.

One question that I just thought of. On the Merlin tank, wouldn't a washer like that mess with the airflow adjuster if you screw it onto a mod and the bottom of the tank is pressed against a washer? Assuming the purpose of the washer is to keep the 510 post from threading all the way in.

Doesn't affect my two Merlins at all. The washers were 7/8 inch diameter or about 22 mm so they don't even touch the airflow.

It shouldn't, I think.

On mine... I can see about a tenth of a mm (it's very small) of the atty's base below the rim of the AFC ring.

If the AFC extends below the base... that might indicate some of the issue of the press-fit base not being tightly together.

Mine doesn't so I'm speculating. Do you have any leaking issues?
