This actually came off the front page? I've NEVER had to look very far to find this thread.

My new toy, and the first one that fits/feeds on/from my Reo! It's also in my own excitement thread, but here it is for continuity:

rba: BF Cyclone
Core/Bore: 1/16" drill bit
Wire: 28ga Kanthal
Resistance: 1.1 ohm
Wick: CVS Sterile Rolled Cotton

As easy as I've been finding the round toothpicks, I broke down today and picked up some 1/16th drill bits.

Coil is smaller, but very easy to get tight. Seems to perform just a bit better than the toothpick ones. Poor Mr Toothpick fell in the garbage can.

^ Nice build bro :)
Other than the direction your RBA is oriented on the mod, it looks identical to mine. I too run a very short wick on the he side. :)

I'ma button towards the chin with the thumb Reonaut :)

Unless it's the VV, then it's button out with the index finger.

So, with Vap's video up there, which is a fine reference resource, THANKS VAP, we get to talk about how much cotton we use in our coils. since there's a video representation, we can use it as a base-line for a scale. Let's say the scale is from 1-10 and Vap's cotton quantity (inside the coil) is a 5. When we talk about too much or not enough affecting flavor, etc, we can say . . . . . . I use about a 6.5. (I do)

BTW: 1 is the leastest, and 10 is kerstuffled.

A genny actually makes a really good tasting dripper. A little cotton on top, micro-coil, and ignore the tank. Wouldn't say "go buy one", but, hey if you can't sell
em all, there's that.
I've liked them for convenience while working but part of the flavor is missing a good bit of the time. I've been using RDAs more and more. Looks like the Reo is the best of both worlds. I will try a cotton wicked genny with a micro and just tilt to replenish coil but I see that being a short term measure.

Yeah, that's the last thing I was doing* before ol' Supe set me up with my first REO. It's really not bad (just not as good)

*cotton, and nextel

Very good video vapdivrr. That is the first vape related video I have watched more than 1 minute of. I'm proud of ya man. You done good :)

Really ???? ....... Not about the good video it was awesome Vap and really helped me ....... Thank you Vap !!

But you don't watch vape videos SXD ??? I have (let me go check ... tik-tok-tik-tok) 159 you tube subscriptions and at least 150 of those are vape related. I decided a long time ago I was spending too much time on ECF so its been replaced with YT vaping vids. Plus they are great in the background as I do my builds (although not as much fun on my iPad lately). I need to get my computer back up and running with my huge screen.

I watch more youtube than I do TV :D

Congrats on the shout out from Vap.

No, I can't stand them. I get bored easily. The two or three I attempted to watch were so filled with mindless bulls hit, misconception and opinion that I couldn't go on watching. That's why juicejunkys pictures struck a chord with me. I didn't have to listen to someone, rather just look and read.

Vapdivrrs vid is the exception. It is EXACTLY my setup other than wick length, coil resistance and wire gauge. I also don't fire and squeeze my coil like that. Oh, and I take my battery out before I touch the innards of the RBA (learned that by surprise one day :)) it was funny to see him fogging up the room. And I learned a new technique from him wher he exhales slightly and nose hits it - the nic taste from that (cig like) is amazing.

Yeah, that is cool when someone "shouts ya out". It made me feel proud to see another enjoying their vape as much as I do with a near identical setup :)

hey guys just thought that a video on these micro coils might help some. hopefully it turned out pretty good.

Hey diver, another great informative vid from you as usual. I used your vids when I was building with the fc-2000 ceramic on the ac9 and rsst.

Glad to hear you're enjoying your grand. My gennys have been quite neglected since I received mine. There's just something ingeniously clever but simple about the reo paired with the rm2. No flooding, gurgling or leaking and perfect control of the wicking process. Gotta love it. Thanks for the vid.

cheers

Great video diver. Thanks. One thing left out and I think very important, especially with RBAs other than RM2, is to check coil for shorts before firing on REO especially mechanical without a protection fuse. It's not as critical with the RM2 with ceramic base and so much room inside but most of my other RBAs are more prone to shorting with so little room and lacking the protection from shorts from the ceramic base.

Plenty of peeps have shorted RBAs causing spring collapse. As your video will most likely used by many newbies and some not using an RM2 I think checking for short is even more important.

I usually build on the box ohm tester, out of habit, building coils in more prone to short RBAs.

As an example, several of us REOnauts, several experienced RBA users, were sitting around a table building coils for various RBAs. Sterno built one of his famous coils on one of my Surface. It kept shorting. It was passed around a bit to try to figure out the problem. I finally realized that a phillips head post screw was touching the cap, almost impossible to see. Without metering it we could have potentially collapsed several springs.

Feisty Alice

{edit} Solution was to use a hex screw instead of big head phillips.
