The funny thing I notice about Cyclone/RM2 comparisons, people seem to prefer the one that they got first.

I can somewhat agree with this. The RM2 was out of stock when I got my Reo, so my Cyclone came first. I prefer it, but not on all planes. Building the RM2 is bar none easier, and the function of the drain hole is wonderful, but the look of the Cyclone is much more appealing to me. Maybe once I get a Silencer drip tip or something similar I would use the RM2 more often.

Here is my first attempt at a micro coil. I just got my Reomizer this morning. After several failed attempt, and a few great looking coils ruined by stupid mistakes, I ended up with this. It measures out 1.2ohm on my Vamo. I am pretty satisfied with it though. It hits way better than the 1ohm 5 wrap coil I made quickly this morning before I went to work. It is 28 gauge Kanthal with just some natural cotton.

Don't mind the very dirty Reo. I kept firing it without the top cap on and juice is splattered all over it now. It will get a nice bath tomorrow.

There's nothing awkward about that build, only awesome. :)

First attempt? Sure doesn't look like it. Very well done!

Technically it was attempt number 8 or 9. But it was the first time I have tried making micro coils. I made 4 or 5 that were just as nice but they were far too small diameter and the cotton wick dried out too fast. I finally settled on using one of my small screw drivers to wrap the coil on which is about a 2mm diameter.

Tried to make micro coil and had 9 wraps with 30 wire, coil looked nice but ohmed out at 2 ohms, everything was okay except the vape was to cool I could have added 2 or 3 more wraps but the vape would have even been cooler. 6 wraps around a double 2.5 mm silica wick gave me what I wanted 1.5 ohms. I made it like Rob's video. What would I do to get a 1.5 ohm atty with say 10 to 11 wraps and a silica wick. Thanks.

What did you use to wrap the wire around? I only ask because I've gotten 1.4 using 1 1/16 before.

28 ga Kanthal! It will give you just what you want. A 10 wrap of 28ga gives me almost 1.4 ohms.

OK, Supe, found it. The bottom end, that is. Built a coil where the cotton can't keep up. Well it does fine for about 4 seconds; but I like a longer pull. So, here's where I found my "Road Closed" sign on this little highway of me and cotton and micro-coils. Mind you, not a problem! I'm very happy with my regular setup; but I was curious about certain allegations re: the REO not being able to deliver enough zip to your zap. The REO, btw, does it's job just fine. It can deliver more voltage than is necessary or sane.

26g Nichrome, 0.4Ω

ok got it (on the Reo business)... but what about another wicking material ? is that a no go?

i just ordered some cotton core eko wool from ebay... not that i need a .4 ohm coil.

how does another few wraps of 26 nichrome pan out btw?

Well, dizzie, I was about to answer you. 80 is 80% nickel and 20% chromium / 60 is 60% nickel 16% chromium and 24% iron

So as I was saying before I realized what thread I was in.........I was wondering about the differences between 80 & 60. I know 60 has iron in it & 80 doesn't but what does that mean for vaping? It seems like 60 (with iron) is more popular but 80 is also used. Iron is the majority of the content for Kanthal A1 where NC60 is only about 1/4% iron.

My regular setup is w/ same 26g Nichrome wire, 8 wraps, 0.5Ω. Great.

Man, seeing y'all running that thick wire makes me want to try some just so I can get the shirt n all, but I don't order it cause I am pretty much a LR - SR kinda hombre with micros. It'd just be a waste in my case. It looks rugged as heck though.

I'd probably get some if I ran scientifically proven, coil commission compliant "standard" coils or dug SLR though

I'm glad your trip to the edge went well my friend. Glad to have ya back :)

X, I don't have any NC26 but I do have Kanthal 26. If ya want to try some I'll send you some to play with. It's pretty thick but still workable. I made a 1 ohm micro with 26 & it's working much better than I thought. The .7 ohm coil I have in the adjustable air flow atty is making crazy clouds. Im tempted to try lower but I'm good for now.

Didn't think I would ever get 26 but science told me to, not really, it was pdib'z fault. Dude keeps going to that next cliff & I start to wonder too.

See, I'm kind of caught in the middle. This 1 ohm coil is treating me real nice right now. I don't have a VV Grand (not for long anyway, once my Provari sells it's the first thing I'm doing), so I can't go above say, 1.5 ohms, but I'm really not a guy for anything below .8 ohms.

But hey, if it works for you, vape it. I'm gonna sit on my identical 1 ohm coils on both RM2 and Cyclone till the cows come home. Or my VV Grand does. Then it's time for some 32g micro coils.
