Promised you a pic, here it is.
I meant seeing the coil through the air hole quite literally =)

Looks like a miniature blast furnace.

Thanks for the tip Rudy. I'm headed up to Home-D this afternoon to pick up a load of PVC pipe, this will work out good trip-wise.

Thanks, again.

Looked at ordering the "correct sizes" (12mm or 13mm x 2mm or 2,5mm thick) from Oring com but looked at prices. It was like $10.00 with shipping for like 8 rings! The 8mm orings from Home-d were little tight but was able to stretch over the base no problem. Actually I like the tight fit as they will not fall off during rebuilds etc. plus you get a box ful for $2.50! :)

Just ordered some 30g Kanthal wire from Temco and I was wondering if this is the right gauge to achieve 1 - 1.5ohms through a microcoil build? I've read about some people using 28g Kanthal and was wondering what is the difference between the 28g and the 30g wire when it comes to vaping?

I'm planning on testing microcoils out on my Penelope, where you would have to attached NR wires on each end of the microcoil. Has anyone tried this on a Penelope or Oddy?

Thanks for your help,

- Dok

I use 30g wire and 6 wraps around double strand 2.5mm silica wick always gives me 1.5 ohms, if that helps, this is on RM2.

Hey Supe, I got your pkg. That was an awesome thing to do brother. Cant say Thank you enough.

I dont have time to peruse the threads. How many wraps of 27G on the 17 will equal roughly 1.2 ohms. I'm gonna drop it on my Grand.

Hey Ed, I think that 13 wraps will get ya there bro :)
I'm glad you like it man :)

13 wraps it is. 1.24 perfect!! I run my VVG around 2.3-2.6. Can I even wrap enough wraps with 27 to make that happen. Sorry for the noob questions, I'm just too tired to research it.

It'd prolly take about 20 wraps to get there with 27. With the 30 it's about 10 or 12? Dude, ask away :)

Don't know if 27 wraps would fit. The 14 is pretty long.

Get some 30 ga. I find it the easiest to wrap. I can get them pretty close without having to heat and squeeze. 27-28 ga is a bit easier to get through post holes, though. For me 32 is a nightmare.
