Whats up Reonauts? I just wanted to share my first micro coil on my RM2, nothing special yet but I plan on getting creative very soon.
10 wraps of 29ga kanthal on a 1.4mm micro-screwdriver, reads at 1.4 ohm and is kicking some serious ....!

I have a .8ohm micro coil in my Oddy Clone. It does a great job but you can't fit too many wraps in there. And it was tedious but since I was using cotton I was able to set my coil up and then insert my wick.

I'm in!!! Just received my first Reo Grand/RM2 on Friday, and have it wired up with a 9 wrap 28g micro coil using a 1/16 drill bit. Drilled out the RM2 airhole to 1/16 and after the help of super-x's great info and the videos from vape and stats, I have this bad boy rockin the frickin house! A most excellent 50th B-day present to myself. Really appreciate all of the helpful info shared here. Damn this is good.
^^ I think this guy has a case of ECPS. For those who are not in the know (everyone, because I just made it up) ECPS stands for Epic Coil Predisposition Syndrome.

Thanks, coming from you guys thats a real compliment. I've been rebuilding coils for a while on my vivi novas but, yeah, this was my first attempt at a micro. I've gotta say this coil on my Grand/RM2 is pushing out some serious warm flavorful clouds! I was barely able to fit the cotton yarn through but it's keeping up nicely. I've got plans for some different setups, so I'll be around checking out what you guys are throwing down and sharing my progress as well.
Supe and Stats. You guys really rock. Supe for sending me this 27 and some luer locks to wrap it around. And Stats for showing me how to roll that first one. I'm curious to see the service life on this build. Think I'm gonna go a few more wraps next time, it seems just a tad to warm for me. Anyone put one is a VVG? How many wraps can I go 27/17G. How many is safe to pack in there. I'm shooting for 2.3-2.6. I gotta get my VVG rockin' with a 27G setup. Appreciate it! K now I'm really off. Later...

I am no expert when it comes to calculating expected resistance. I can usually get in the ballpark.
I'm gonna say it will be very difficult to get up over 2ohms with 27g wire and a 17g inside diameter and still get a good amount of airflow around the coil. I would "guess" 2.3ohm in that case would require somewhere around 17-18 wraps. Somebody please come along and give him some better more educated feedback

27 awg wouldn't be an ideal size to use for anything over 2 ohm. In fact IMHO it's not ideal for a micro higher than 1.1-1.2 unless you don't mind waiting for the coil to heat up & don't care that it takes long to cool down. With VV device you may get away with the heating up issue. I use 30 awg in my VVG at just under 2 ohm.
