Huh, a kind of large scale capillary effect.... That makes sense. I'll play around with this a bit. I've felt that since I started with micros I've nailed the left side of the coil and wick, i.e. near the squonking hole. The right side, however I'm not completely happy with yet. I can't decide whether to let the cotton billow out (floating in the air), or touching the ground (leading to a wicking effect from that side as well). At the moment I'm doing the latter, but I'm unsure how well it works or how necessary it is.

it's tough to wrap a proper coil. this stuff is STIFF! that aside, the above coil is a 17ga ID at ~1ohm. It has a lightning fast response time akin to my .7-.8ohm 26awg nichrome coils.
Vapor production seems... Fuller? maybe more dense. The flavor is clean and fresh. If I had to do a comparison, Nichrome would be tap water where the Rene is coming from a natural spring. I am quite impressed. If this stuff does what it is supposed to do (get harder over time with heat and have superior corrosion resist... I may just start making wire art with my kanthal and nichrome.

Anyone found any safety issues, precautions, or concerns in regards to Rene'?
We did quite a bit of off the books discussion about it and decided that there should be no more risk than kanthal or nichrome... Now, that being said... none of us are scientists.
Speaking frankly, I've been shot at, blown up, and seen some nasty crap... I'm not too worried about a piece of wire. If it kills me, it kills me.
Absolutely!! I gave a similar response to a question about eliquid safety a while back and got a huge azz chewing from some broad with a stick in her hiney. Anybody that vapes is taking a calculated risk. Can't stand the heat? Get out of the fire!

So, this hard to wrap René 41 is, as you might guess, somewhat more pliable with repeated torchings. It will basically bend once. So any complex shapes are going to require some doing . . . . . . . . . fun!

I'm not horribly worried, nothings seems scary on the chemical breakdown. I wasn't trying to be "that guy," more of a "if you try it, make sure you don't .............."
