Amen Fog, that's no small advantage over gennys, for me.

At first building coils was fun and exciting then after about three months it became loathsome.. sad but true

Cotton is a cinch. Finally I can go from deciding it's time to change my wick to a fresh wick ready to rock and roll in less than five minutes. It's awesome :D

New Kid, I think you may have overdone it with the wicking on that one. Too much wick thickness means it can't expand inside the coil and chokes things off. A new wick should slide in effortlessly and just when you get to a bit of resistance when pulled through, stop and trim it. Also make sure your coil is up off the floor of the atty.

In my pic above, I wrapped that 3 days ago and just tonight rewicked it, even though it didn't need it. The juice in that hornet is light fruity/menthol/minty stuff. So wicks last a long time. In my other hornet, I have darker, sweeter and heavier juices and I usually rewick and dry burn each day.

Ya gotta keep the cotton really WET New Kid...but I guess you already figured that one out. :p - The bright side is how FAST a wick change is w/it. My heavy caramel tobacco DIY gunks coils up right quick, but it's no biggie now that I can dry burn the coil & installl a new wick in just a few seconds. AWESOME!!

Well, I cannot do it that fast yet. Takes me at least 1 minute.

But changing these out is easy compared to making a whole new coil, testing the resistance, etc.

Well, I have no idea what made me think of this...but i thought, hey, maybe it needs a cleaning and some TLC. So I cleaned the contacts and then applied some stuff, um, I think it's call Noalox. May be I read this in the instructions that came with it? Oh, well.

Working much better now. Warmer vape. I'm a bit dizzy. :vapor:

Thanks everyone for your tips. You guys are great putting up with a old foggy like me but you got me on the right track.

Heck, this is fun!

Edit: I was just cleaning up the Vape Cave and looked at my Lava Tube 1.5. I remember thinking it could not get much better than this...wow, was I wrong.

I'm starting to see that talk of REOs and REO friendly atomizers, like the RM2 are starting to become more and more prevalent in the "Rebuildable Atomizer" sub forum. I like it. It's almost like a small vacation cabin on the lake whereas REOville be my primary crib.

I love to post pix of micro coiled RM2s in any thread where the door is slightly ajar. Sometimes I even break the door down too. I hear all the silent cries for help in nearly every non REO post... :)

Started reallly, really good. But now its ... well...lousy. Heating slow, only hitting 3.3v on a fresh battery. So, checked the wick - burnt.

New wick and back up. Going to keep running with this tonight, shot for a 1.8ohm coil tomorrow.

Does this make me a Scientist? I measured it "scientifically".

Edit: one thing I'm noticing is the vapor is fairly cool, I prefer warm.

If you prefer warm vape try dropping 1 wrap next time. Good Luck.

as far as my micro coil goes.... this is what happened, right after I wrote that it started slowing down, I changed the battery and still not a lot of vapor and close to ZERO flavor with the vapes. I dry burned and replaced the wick and still no flavor so I decided I must need a new coil... when I rebuilt the next 1 I did 12 wraps with 32g and got 2.1 ohms and when vaping it just didn't seem to be hot enough and not near the vapor I was getting so I went back to 8 wraps and under 2 ohms. I will try again in a few days. I just think over 2 ohms is just too cool a vape for me. It could also be because with the reomizer I got spoiled QUICK!! Seriously, my cafe coffee just doesn't taste as good because I found that I prefer the hazelnut coffee on this, it taste amazing!! Now I have 2 bottles of cafe coffee I have to vape because I just can't stand the thought of throwing it away so I mixed it and am vaping that until its gone. I realized that I need to find different cheap juice or spend some time in the DIY forum since I haven't the first clue how to make my own juice.... sigh.

For your Cafe Coffee try 1.3ohm or 1.5ohm if you think that might be too warm. I know everyone prefers higher resistance for micros but I still prefer 1.3 ohm for tight coils. I love hazelnut too. At 1.3 ohm the hazelnut is crazy delicious. I also have Christy's Cappuccino from AVE, good, but it doesn't seem as flavorful cause I think I'm just used to the hazelnut. With the coffee flavors that I tried they seem better at 1.5ohm & lower. I think it because coffee juices are usually thicker with more flavoring so it needs more heat to get a good vape. I like warmer vapes and at 1.3ohm with a micro it's not too warm for me but for some others it is.

yeah, the flavor just seems better with the lower ohms for some reason. I might have done it wrong so I will try again just in case I'm missin something but under 2ohms the flavor just seems better. Think I might order some caramel coffee next time because my cafe coffee just seems to be missing that little bit of sweetness I get from the hazelnut.

Ah yes.. Well that is soon going to be my ohm meter for my Reo. For now though it's my humble provari :)

I really love my provari actually I'm just ready to try something different. The provari will always be in my heart just maybe not always in my pocket.

xxbodkinxx; Don't worry about the homophobic comments on the tube type vapors. I wouldn't trade my GG Mechanical for two box mods as far as I'm concerned. Besides only a man "Comfortable and confident" in his sexuallity does not concern himself witch such Alpha mao stupidity such as "What this LOOKS like" being a reflection of his preferences. If I have to look like I am pleasuring the tin man on the wizard of oz to have a vape, so be it, only my chauffeur and wife know's I'm straight and I don't care.

Seriosly, most of us spent 30 years putting what looks like a spider monkey's body part up to our face and lighting it up.

Now suddenly we shove a battery in that thing and it's no longer cool? Talk about Bovine Sovereignty.

I agree with your post 100%. I wouldn't have a problem using a tube mod because of it looking phallic. Having said that, I prefer a box mod over a tube mod but different strokes for different folks. Whatever works and keeps you off the cigs is a good thing.

Yep, yep, that used to be me back in the day (became a reonaut on 5/30/13 :D). I'm pretty much done with tanks and cartos, etc. I've already given a lot of that stuff away thus reducing the vape rubbish pile I've been accumulating. I will hold on to at lease one of my shiny silver tubes because....well....I'm attracted to shiney things

But seriously, I know this has all been said before but let me reiterate: the reos are easy, simple, reliable, consistent, well designed/made vaping machines and with the right atty (meaning what's right for ones personal taste) it's a no brainer.

Yep, Yep, right on! It doesn't matter if it's a tube, box, pipe style, curved, slanted...what ever it takes to get off the analogs. As far as what device you use to deliver vaper/nic, I say "to each his/her own, different strokes for different folks, what ever gets you through the night"....and all that jazz. :D

Bovine Sovereignty<------- This went over my head...:?:...:)

I was wondering about that too and I was so impressed at the time that I saved the photos thinking I might try something similar:

reosba.jpgreosbb.jpgreosbc.jpgreosbd.jpg

Thanks pdib, I can sleep now ;)

That door looks amazing.

I'm curious about something regarding your other REO. I've seen pics where it appears almost all of the red paint has been brushed off. I also remember a pic with that door but the REO was dark blue. As I am typing this I guess it was blue painted over red

I already made my submission to the door deco contest :p, although it would be unfair to that majestic beast to brand it with the likeness of its detractor. Maybe he can go on the inside of the door so he can always behold the awesomeness inside? lol
