I'm pretty sure a single is doing the job for me but I love learning about this stuff.

I miss Mr. Wizard.

Generally speaking, I think micros are a great way to explore dual coil builds. They are so concise that it makes it easier to deal with factors like the one you brought up, #1. Much easier to be precise with them.

One more question... Waiting for my 26ga nichrome to come in... How much vapor production difference is between a 1 ohm and .5 ohm coil? I feel at one ohm it's pretty good but I feel like it could do a lot better

Somewhere in there (btwn 1 & .5Ω) you'll probably want to enlarge your air hole. Not much. I think Rob does them at about 1.2mm; try 1.3 and then 1.4mm if 1.3 isn't enough. Visible steam production is increased by the amount of energy you are applying to the e-liquid and the amount of cool air you draw across it.

I'm starting to see that talk of REOs and REO friendly atomizers, like the RM2 are starting to become more and more prevalent in the "Rebuildable Atomizer" sub forum. I like it. It's almost like a small vacation cabin on the lake whereas REOville be my primary crib.

I love to post pix of micro coiled RM2s in any thread where the door is slightly ajar. Sometimes I even break the door down too. I hear all the silent cries for help in nearly every non REO post... :)

Any chance of a list of REO friendly atomizers or at least a few that are available in US or Canada or China? Most drippers I see don't have an air hole in the bottom. Is it possible to drill a hole in those ones and if so what size would it be? Not sure of the physical size of the tube and its height.

There is a stickied list in the REO forum.

I've drilled out a few (through the pos. post) with a #57 drill bit. There is some room for variation. 1/16" is too big, as it might hit the threads of the pos. post wire-clamp screw. I'd say 1.1-1.2mm would work as well.

I also like the RM2 best.

Agreed, 1/16" too big. #51 is the largest I have used & worked fine but it can get slighty leaky if you go bigger than the 510. I use #53 which is the size of the Reo's 510 & for the RM2. Cisco bridged is #50, Cisco unbridged is #49. I use a lathe so if doing it by hand or some other way it's best to step down a few sizes to account for runout.

One more question... Waiting for my 26ga nichrome to come in... How much vapor production difference is between a 1 ohm and .5 ohm coil? I feel at one ohm it's pretty good but I feel like it could do a lot better

believe me, you are going to have many inches of 26g to play with and you will be rehearsing your next build as soon as you vape the last one a few times...
try them all:
On a Reo, with the RM2, i prefer .7 or .6+... faster response time compared to 1. Ohms and up,

...and its not dangerously (in terms of flavor not safety) hot. OK i theorize there because unlike Pdib, I haven't tried .5 Ohms on a RM2 yet; it may be fine.

Of course you are using good IMR batts and using a meter..... :)

Noticeable difference! I love the 0.5Ω coil, but it visibly fogs up the family room. My wife's concerned about the PG / VG settling on stuff. Definitely NSFW if you're trying to stealth vape--the huge amount of vapor hangs around. The 0.8Ω coil doesn't exhibit this problem much and it's still like a good 58-60 ring gauge cigar. I haven't tried anything in between yet.

Would 1.2mm air hole suffice for a dual coil? Wanna try it but not sure the easiest way to try lol you guys have artwork going on.

Its not going to hurt anything. If your vape seems to hot, or too intense, then you consider opening the air hole (a tiny bit at a time). Hard to make it smaller again.
