Well switched to Ekowool today. Went with the skinny stuff doubled and pulled through the micro threaded on a piece of wire. Quick and easy and getting really good results. Might be my favorite setup so far. Threw a black Smok Mini in the cart when buying batts, was a PITA to convert to BF but seems worth the hassle. The 2.1 is officially in Stealth Mode. I've been worried about glare when hunting, problem solved.
Tell us a little bit about that, Mr. Twist and torch? Torch and twist? Torch twist torch wrap torch fit set? That's the thing about this 27g, tho, by the time I get enough in there to do a dual . . .. its too much wire. Must say, its impressive!
I torched the crap out of the wire, folded it and placed the 2 ends in a drill. Put a screwdriver in the folded loop end and held pressure and twisted until it snapped. re-torched the twisted wire, then did a 10/11 wrap on a 16ga supe-x syringe. Pinched the coil with pliers and torched it in the pliers while compressing. Once hot I quenched without releasing pressure, Wash, rinse, repeat x3

I can't even describe it... the cloud is as tasty as a standard R41 coil, but so thick that it actually sinks as I exhale

Looks great, vapes like crap. Single coil alt, two top coils were wrapped around a blunt needle while the mid was wrapped around a drill bit. Still going to keep experimenting. Maybe tomorrow. My fingers hurt from inadvertent blood draws from 28g Kanthal... Coil building does get addicting..
On another note, Since BTV shut down is there any other place to buy Kiln/Heat treated XC-116? Google has not really been that much of a help.

7wraps of 27g around a 1/16" bit. R41 on the left, K A-1 on the right. The R41 was nice and tight but spread apart during some dry burning.
