FWIW, the AW in super_X's REO setup video is a 2000. So he uses (at least one of) these.

Yep, those are all I have. I do probably demand less of my battery than say a SLR vaper though, so I am very happy with them. :) but maybe I don't now what I'm missing or not miss what I'm not knowing :)

For me, the flavor and vapor production of the R41 is superior in every way.

I was worried this would be the case. It is just so much more expensive per foot that it is hard to justify the cost when I already have 300 feet of Nichrome. Though I think I might still have to try it just to see. Are you planning on running the coil long term to see how it holds up over time? Because if you can get long lifetime out of one coil, then I supposed that would help make the cost per foot not be so bad.

In other news, I built my first dual coil on the RM2 last night. 28 gauge kanthal, about 10 wraps on each coil. Meters out to .7ohm. I wasn't satisfied with draw so then I did something stupid. I enlarged the hole with a paper clip. The draw is perfect for the dual coil now. But I fear that I won't like it if I ever go back to a single coil. Oh well. It looks like I just found a good reason to buy a second RM2. I will probably need another Grand so I have a nice sturdy stand to build the coil on. :D

So I just made my 3rd coil.... 30 gauge kanthal. 2 ohms.... My juices kept tasting very sweet. Read where someone else had this problem. I'm trying less cotton.. Like hardly any. Would silica wicks fix this? Also I think I will order some 28 gauge next. Want more wraps but less ohms, maybe 1.2-1.6.

a 28g coil in that resistance range is gonna fire pretty slowly. (unless you're doing VV?) Maybe try 29g?

I'll tell you what I've been doing. This is pure coincidence, in that I wasn't having sweetness issues, per se. But its food for thought, maybe. I recently decided to try a simple DIY. I was wanting to try unflavored anyway, so what the heck. I'm enjoying the unflavored; but as an alternative, not an ADV. I vape it about 1/3 of the time.

ANYWAY, I started cutting my flavored juices by 1/2 with my unflavored mix. Its very good that way. And, hey!, it'll cut any sweetness issues in 1/2 instantly.

My mix is 100mg nic in PG, which I cut to my nic level with VG. so its a VG heavy mix. Very simple to do!

I am slowly coming to the conclusion that the RM2 and micro-coils are a "sweet" combination. The micro generates alot of heat, and the ceramic base reflects that heat and cooks some extra juice instead of absorbing said heat into the metal of the atty. I think that these contribute to the sweet factor.

Well, I'll tell you what might setup is. I don't get sweetness issues with it . . .. maybe some aspect of it will help you sort out the factors. I vape Lemonade (MEL). Also, Magic Fairy (GLV) mixed with Blacksmith (MEL). I do a micro with 26g Nichrome @ .5-.6Ω in the RM2. Air hole is at 1.4mm.

ETA: 50/50 PG/VG

ETA: btw, I reject most juices bc I find them to be too sweet (even before RM2/micro)

Very few people find silica suitable for a micro coil. Especially with lower resistance setups. I'm sure its worth a try . .. you never know. I would wrap a coil on a drill bit (oh, say like, 3/32") and then fold your silica (say 2mm style) over a bent piece of thin wire. Fish the folded wire through the coil and pull the silica through.

Another way to do it is to fold your silica however many times you like (for finished wick) and hold a needle alongside it (in the bundle). Wrap directly around that and pull the needle free.
