Mike's Fish!

Mike confused me..he was talking about everyone else's fish.
Mike's was a 1 and 1/2 foot fish. he said it weighed 3 and a quarter pound.

He gave it to his best friends son in law..newly weds with a baby on the way. Mike didn't have an ice bucket to bring it home..I was making Spaghetti anyway.
He had a good time, but the walking up and down the pier and the sun did him no good. He says he will go at dusk next time.
But he forgets we are going Sat. daytime..he needs to get a cart and take his golf umbrella.

I lightened the pic a lot..I couldn't see the fish!

Trout! There was a time you could only get trash fish at Ballast Point..but they sunk some huge cement slabs and rocks (for the fish to hide among and for bait fish and oysters to live on)after they dredged the area to make it deeper and they are getting some big fish out there now!

i miss fishing. loved going out early in the morning and spending all day just fishing and listening to the water and birds.

We had a camper trailer at the lake at one time.....I could do that all day there. It was so relaxing!

And the bugs..bizzz right in your ear so you slap your self!

MK if you had brought that fish home would you have cleaned it also? I just don't think I could bring myself to clean fish, weird because as a kid I would watch my uncle clean rabbit after he went hunting, and it didn't bother me.

yes, I know, I don't know why but it just didn't bother me as a kid. As a kid I thought it was kind of cool, like biology class. I don't think I could do it now as an adult. I still remember the smell.

I used to help my grandpa clean fish all the time. Mostly just scrapping the scales off of the blue gills.

Since I am from Florida and everyone in my family fished, Uncles' Aunts' Mom and dad and Grandparents, our carport was fish cleaning central!. I learned really youing and can catch, clean and fry up a mess of fish!

Nice fish. My hubby's idea of fishing is walking around a pond bass fishing. I can't see how that's enjoyable but I go anyway. I'll take landing a shark any day over pond fishing...LOL.
