Helloooooooooooo, MM'ers, and a VERY Happy Newest Year to all of you!

As I sit here, in the quiet and warmth of home (FOR THE FIRST TIME IN PROLLY 25 YEARS!!), I'm being entertained by the sites, sounds, and smells of a perfect NYE. Fireworks are abundant outside, the moon is full and bright, and I've got my Xmas MM tips atop my fully loaded mods.

USPS. Oh brother, tell me about it. I have NO klue what hand is talking to the other these days. We ordered some sweet and unique devices to have by Xmas. The vendor is about 30 miles from me, door to door. Welp, that package took FOREVER to get here, as it went from 30 miles east of me, to the main PO station about 30 miles north of me... (so far so good, right)

Then....... boom! Headed straight to Amarillo, Texas!!!! Excuse me?? WHAT?? All I could do was laugh (and hope).

Cookies. I think you guys know I do cookies for Xmas most every year. I did it again. I think I made well over 500, and ran short!!!!!!!! So tasty, so yummy, and gawd help me when the gas bill comes due. ;)

Kayte, those trays are fabulous!! What nice gifts! I'm always so impressed by your (multi) talents!

My best to you all.... huge warm hugs~

G'morning ! :) Welp, our 2018 already started off with a "crisis." Ha! I didn't know it until hubby got up and informed me the furnace was blowing cold air. Hadn't noticed since I sit at the kitchen table with my little ceramic heater by my feet, but he looks at the thermostat first thing when arising. 59 degrees showing when it should be 64 degrees. Yikes!

Of course, stuff like this only happens to us anywhere from early Friday evenings through the weekend; and always we have to figure out how we can survive catastrophe until normal people are at work and available to help us in our dilemma.

First thought came to mind was that we hadn't lost power 'cause my trusty little heater was keeping my feet and legs warm; and if I want to sit in the family room, the electric throw works wonderful well. Then, of course, the fireplace actually keeps the room warm and we do have a cord of wood left....... See? .........We can make it 'til tomorrow the hearty pioneers that we are. :p

Second thought was to get some coffee into hubbs, have him turn off the furnace and have him check the pan to the furnace for backed up condensation.........but first I have to "catch" him.

All is well. As it turns out the hose we use to direct condensation water away from the foundation froze up the entire length, 15', right up to where it connected to the outlet......... Plug up an outlet and you just know nothing is going to "work" right. Take off the hose and a "dose" of a couple buckets of scalding water on the outlet "clears" up the situation real quick. The furnace's sensors recognized hubby's efforts and is back to providing heat once again. Ta dah!!

Third thought is that I'm going to have to listen to the "play by play" for the rest of the day, and since we've not had this happen in the 25 yrs. of living in this house, make a plan to remember to take the hose off during extended freezing temps. By Jove, I think we've got this. ;)

Happy 2018 to all.......and may your furnace work to perfection. :)

Happy New Year, Kat. :) USPS trouble? Good gravy! Don't they know they're messin' with the Kween !? ....... At least you made yourself some "therapy cookies." At least we now know the USPS is not picking just one region to foul up the works. They've blessed the whole nation with their new plan of efficiency.

Chili, we're well acquainted with Murphy. Pays to be nimble and positive around him. We not only learned to have a Plan A, but figured Plan G's could work too. We're warm, we're cozy with plenty of food in the house and a working dishwasher. What more do I need? :p
