Ms.C, for 7 yrs. as a "service brat" spent time living in "trailers" before they were known as "mobile homes". Lots of service people lived in trailers during the 1950's, so it wasn't unusual; but still crowded in first one 24' long by 8' wide for couple of years. Then youngest sib came along and a bigger trailer, 52' x 8'. Her crib was 2' from my lower bunk bed. Brother slept topside. At least mom and dad had their own bedroom. Last yr. dad was in service we moved to 3 bdrm townhouse. Holy cow! Room! And a full sized bathroom! Yay-y-y-y!!!!

Momma, not sure how the pineapple will turn out, but why not try? :) Just a few pats of butter, sprinkle some brown sugar, then put the pineapple slices. Cover it with the souply bisquit batter. Sorta sounds like upsidedown cake! LOL

Nice woodvil (since it looks very similar to mine)! I am actually using a wood tip on my bloodwood that was (I think) a Mexican Cocobolo and it would look even better on your mod. Doug has lots of woods and there is no one better to get a great tip from so just send KAYTE a PM and inquire!

Kayte - I'm a bit better but they didn't like the looks/sounds of me at work today so I came home around noon and have been working here all afternoon. Like KS, I didn't sleep well last night. I wanted to be able to get up so I stayed off the codeine and I coughed all night. It probably wasn't worth it in the long run. But, I've been able to sit upright most of the day (in one more hour and I'll be horizontal again).

Chooch - you have the most wonderful memories and stories!!

Hi 2 buildawall - welcome! We can match one or both of the woods, or do something that compliments them. Feel free to send me a pm and we'll get it figured out. :)

Ms.C - I'm glad they sent you home. It's so easy to overdo and end up in bad shape again. Such a fine line between overdoing and getting some stamina built back up!

Chooch - It's quite a feat to pack a family of four into a 24 x 8!
We spent our first winter in this house with all four of us sleeping in the kitchen. I was worried about the snow caving in the roof over our daughters 'bedroom' so she had to sleep on a pallet by our bed any time it snowed.... and boy did it snow a LOT that year. (Yes... our bed was in the kitchen. lol) Our son slept in a little pop-up tent. I hung a sign on it "Matthew's Room", for him. He was five and liked it. ;) The house wasn't livable, but we did what we had to do and have tons of good memories. Both of our kids are very adept at taking on challenges now. :D

This is pretty close to what it looked like when we moved in ---

There's even an old wooden windmill... minus the top. The last people that lived here (squatters) stole it while we were at the realty office signing the papers - along with every light fixture in the place. :glare:

Thank you, Ms.C; and I agree with Kayte about pushing yourself too hard too soon!

KS, hope your day has been a pleasant one. An afternoon nap sounds delicious!

Kayte, couldn't have been the house.....Must have been the scenery. Isn't it amazing what we as young adults put up with, but as.....ahem......oldsters what we won't!

2Buildawall, welcome to the Mountain! :) Kayte and Doug can fix you up in a snap. Perhaps looking at some of their youtube videos or going to their web site will help in deciding exactly the right tip for your lovely mod.

You all are funny, we did not have any fancy rvs when I was growing up, it was primitive camping or in the bed of the truck!

Love camping we are river rats though gotta have the sound of the river passing you by! Or it's not camping, hubby and I camped at Yellowstone when we went a few years back. Waking up to the sun shining through the tent. The fresh air, snuggled in the sleeping bag. Cooking on the open fire!
Oh momma now that's what I'm talking bout

Belly up to the bar, guys!......Wimins! Sparkle is buying a round of hot toddies!!! And a hot water bottle for you, Angel! If I slept on a water bed, I'd have to ask for a dramamine concoction! :)

Sirius, it's just now starting to rain here. Lots of wind and blinking lights. You got yours over with this morning?

I need to slow down and catch up with you all. I just want to shout out some love, hope all are well or on the mend. And tell you how happy I feel, as I appreciate the hard work Doug & Kayte put into their drip tips, and putting smiles on our faces. And making vaping much more enjoyable.:wub::wub:
And recently, I have been so fortunate to have the opportunity to acquire some amazing mods also..look at this beauty, with Molehill Mountain matching tip{that I got before knowing I would have the mod!:cool:}

You pegged that right! It was the piece of land. The 'house' actually brought the land value down. Everyone thought we were plain nuts. At the time we owned a nice, newly built house (only two years old.) You should have seen the horrified look on my mother in laws face when we told her we were buying this place. She visibly shuddered.:laugh:
Everyone thinks we're financial geniuses now. ;) We paid it off in nine years. Unfortunately some of the work we did way back then is reaching the age of needing to be re-done. Twenty year old bathrooms dealing with hard well water...well... it ain't pretty. Hoping we can do something about that next year. This year it's more fun to play in the kitchen. :D It's a pretty funky little house. Suits me fine.

I've only truly camped once and I liked it. Doug is not a camper though. I've tried lots of times to get him to even just camp in our yard and he won't cooperate. (We normally have a running stream in our yard... when it's not drought.... so the water would have been there.) I loved being able to open my bedroom windows and hear the stream running. That's sort of like camping, isn't it? Maybe if I cooked breakfast on the grill?
Anytime, 2buildawall. :) We aim to help, entice and spend your money! Ha!
Oh my gosh, you make me laugh!
And I have been drinking some red wine tonight..so the love is just pouring out..
:D:D:D:D
 Thanks for the love KS!

Sparkle I camped like you did when I was a kid too...and even though I loved it when I was kid, it's also why my version of camping now would involve a comfy bed, air conditioning and all the creature comforts...I'm so over roughing it...I may be a slug, but I'm a spoiled slug! :D

Ms.C, sounds like you need to take it easy just a while longer...pushing yourself will only cause you to end up having a relapse...take care of yourself and get all better!

KS,Stormy is just gorgeous, and that tip is just perfect! And wine is always good...I am enjoying a margarita myself...will be down for the count before too long here! :p
