Here lately I feel like the dobber of all dobbers Angel. Total goob move on that thread search. I forgot they closed older threads.

That's okay...we'll forgive you...but just this once! Don't let it happen again! :p:laugh:

Don't feel bad though...I made the ultimate stupid move this morning and I've been paying for it ever since...thought my neck was feeling much better and so forgot all about it and when I was carrying my computer bag out to the car, I just threw it over that shoulder like always!...Big mistake! Now my neck hurts worse than it did yesterday and I can't even raise that arm up too high or turn my head! Talk about stupid! D'oh!

Ok so this question is probably really amateur, but I really need help!! I have an aspire nautilus with the BDC coils (I don't rebuild or anything...def not that advanced) and I keep gunking up the coils really fast! What am I doing wrong?? I keep it at 4.2 V. Also, how do you clean them properly? I've tried dry burning but am not exactly good at it....any recommendations? Thanks in advance! :)

The BVC's can deliver a lot more at less voltage or wattage than the dual coil units, however they *are* a single coil unit. I notice the ones I've gotten happy with and turned way up, seem to gunk up a lot faster. Some folks have had good luck soaking in everclear, drying, then dry burning them. I don't like having alcohol in the house anymore, so I haven't tried that yet.

On the bright side, the bvc's are dropping in price fast on ebay =)

Sarah-sometimes it's a matter of the juice and what you have your device set at power wise. Sweeter and darker juices tend to do better with lower volts (or watts). Play around with your settings and when you get a hint of a dry hit, crank er down a little until you hit the sweet spot. I have some juices that I can really crank up while others, keep it lower. It's a matter of trial and error. Higher pg or 50/50 juices tend to not gunk your coils quite as bad either. Or at least that is what i have found. :D

I have thought about the soak as well but we don't keep it around either. Wonder if the 91% Walmart alcohol would work the same?

Has anyone else tried it?

Sarah one other thing to watch for....I got a little over excited after installing a new BVC and didn't even give it a minute to juice up and hit it at 10 watts wide open..kind of a burnt flavor. Now I continued to use it for several days and it was ok...but there was the slightest hint of an off taste.
Momma...for me, since I seem to be getting about a week out of a coil and that is with switching flavors multiple times throughout the week I'm just going to toss them. I'm too lazy to fight with the rebuild/cleaning out.

Thanks mommabird. And yea, I typically vape Alice in Vapeland, and specifically, crunkjuice tends to gunk up on me. I just got my new bottle in the mail though, and asked her to add more PG this time, so hopefully that helps me out :) I'll try playing around with the settings too :)

Oh yea, same here, I'm way too lazy lol. I just ordered 3 packs of 5 more sets of coils. But I think you're probably right - I know that at least sometimes I don't let it sit long enough so I'll try and be more careful with that too. Thank you and thanks to everyone else as well for the tips! I really appreciate the help

So I forgot to say this: yes, I have tried it with isopropyl alcohol....despite everyone advising against it. I figured that the only reason people were saying not to do it is because it can be toxic--- which is true, however, if you thoroughly rinse it and let it air dry, toxicity isn't an issue. Being a scientist, I went ahead and did it. BIG regret lol! It tastes absolutely horrid afterwards!!! And there's pretty much no way to get the nasty taste out :( I think I'm gonna suck it up and buy the everclear

Sarah, I am going to coil up my Kayfun with a normal 30g wrap and cotton and take a before picture. I'm going to run ONE nano tank, about 2-3ml of my AiV black and white cookie thru it. Then I am going to take it apart and snap an after picture. I'll post up the results here for you to see. I think you will be very surprised at the results... I'm sure you know what to expect, just not the extent that you are going to see. As much as I love AiV and that they use natural flavorings, they are super gunky. One good reason to get into rebuildables and/or keep a dripper around for those juices that wreck prebuilt coils.

I use Vodka to soak my head's in, one hour soak and then a good hot rinse usually does the job :)
