Smiley, you were struck by lightening hon? Amazing! Did it knock you out of your shoes?

Nope, they said my cowboy boots although full of rainwater saved my life. My heart stopped twice in the ER. They had to give me the "ALL CLEAR" zap with the paddles to get me going again.

Yeah that will do it. Hurts even when you're half dead. I was aware the whole time even after flat lining.

Want me to tell you how my very own car ran over me? :D Left tread marks on my ankles; and when I called into work to tell them I'd be a tad late, the receptionist said she thought she'd heard every story until now.....Nothing happened but shredded stockings, torn slacks, and the tire marks which made a great "show and tell" at the office that day. :p
Haha..I am sorry to laugh but this reminded me of one of the many cars I had that I had to jump in and pop the clutch to get going.
It was an "81 chevette. I went to an interview at a restaurant and kind of parked it on an incline to make starting it easier. Only the door caught me and tossed me onto the parking lot. What a sight I had to be running after my car as it was heading towards a huge plate glass window full of people eating at the restaurant. I caught up to it just as it hit the curb and lurched up on the grass.
For some reason I did not get that job.:lol::lol:
Glad you were ok Chooch.:)

KS, sometimes, we're in the right place just at the wrong time; and being struck by lightening is NOT being a klutz for sure! :p

Sirius, the demon car inciident happened back in the mid 1970's. My Ford Maverick popped out of park into reverse all by itself while I was beside the car checking to make sure I hadn't scraped someone else's car backing out. Tried to get in car, but it knocked me down and feet and ankles got in way of front tire. This was several years before Ford was sued for injuries from accidents such as this one. I'm always too early or to late to get in on any action......except where vaping's concerned! :D

Make that three people running after their runaway cars only mine was a barrowed car and I certainly needed to stop it before it crossed the busy street it was headed for downhill. I bet I broke the 4 min. mile!

Sirius, you were AWARE when they shocked you? When your heart was stopped? Any floating views from the top of the room or light at the end of the tunnel thing? Did you feel pain from the heart and/or shocks?

Well I remember this the most. I walked myself into the ER,(my brother drove me there because I couldn't breathe) felt like a fish out of water. They cut my clothes off me and went to work. I took a turn for the worse and stopped breathing,(that's when I flat lined, and it felt like I was going backwards down into a cold hole). Dark and cold it was. Then came the three shocks and pinch to my groin. Three shocks and a shot of clot buster. But yeah, it felt like someone hit me in my chest with a sledge hammer three times.

Oof, very not pleasant, Sirius! :( Were you not able to saying anything.....like "Stop that!"? Or, you were aware and just couldn't do/say anything? "They" say the last of the six senses that go is hearing......is the first to go "movement"? But that's not a "sense".....

Nope couldn't have talked even if I wanted to. They had one of those big masks on me that pumped O2 and was steady pumping O2 in my lungs. They done a great job of it. I came back into that room full of doctors and nurses and almost as soon as I did, was knocked out with morphine for the trip to be bigger hospital in Greenville. I stayed in ICU for three days and went home. It's was quite the journey and left me a very different man. One that takes nobody or nothing for granted. EVER!

Now ya'll know why this is my favorite poem......

To the Virgins, to Make Much of Time

Gather ye rosebuds while ye may,
Old time is still a-flying:
And this same flower that smiles to-day
To-morrow will be dying.

The glorious lamp of heaven, the sun,
The higher he's a-getting,
The sooner will his race be run,
And nearer he's to setting.

That age is best which is the first,
When youth and blood are warmer;
But being spent, the worse, and worst
Times still succeed the former.

Then be not coy, but use your time,
And while ye may, go marry:
For having lost but once your prime
You may for ever tarry.

~Robert Herrick, 1591 - 1674
