Well, the photo shoot happened out at our barn today...but they chose a far shorter horse than the big guy for their "horse in pictures". Turns out the model they brought was around 5 foot 6. Not Zig's fault he blots out the sun for everyone! We did have a lovely ride while the Chevy folks were taking pictures at the barn; our first time on the trail since Zig turned up lame. He was just the happiest guy!

Little iStick and its happy Fushia Flame rode along in my pocket with my cel phone just fine; that tip is nice and tight on the tank!

Two more iSticks arrived today (got em cheap on a "preprder" from someone on ebay who was restocking), so that part of the holiday shopping is done, without ever setting foot in a store!

Have a wonderful day, I'm off to sit in queue for the World of Warcraft expansion...

Awww...He does look happy MH! Glad to be back on the trail with his buddy :)

Chooch-I would love to see that corn cob pipe! Way too cool!

Had a good day but am wore out! Tended my daughter earlier (she's the high maintenance one of my two girls LOL) then headed down to Charlotte with my other daughter for another baby shower. Lots of nice prezzies and good food :) Off to work tomorrow tho- ugh. Been doubling up on days since I am leaving town later in the week for parts much warmer! St Thomas here we come! LOL Now I just need to find time to start packing. ;)

Tips for cold weather survival:

1. Toss jammies and robe/jeans and tops into dryer for 5 minutes......watch for hot zippers!

2. Use small ceramic heater at location you sit most of the time. Mine's at computer in kitchen.

3. Use bathroom as sauna. Bring all clothes in with you, turn on water and make as hot as you can stand, shut bathroom door to trap all heat and steam, do not use ventilation fan, soak in shower until wrinklely or hot water runs out whichever is first, dry every square inch of bod and all hairs that are left, don warm clothes, THEN open bathroom door. It is extremely IMPORTANT that you remember to bring clothes in with you! 8-o........Forgot one time and hubby heard me all the way down in the basement.

Know some of our Mountaineers live in much colder weather and would have some really interesting tips! Add away!! :D

The snow has hit...it's coming down like mad outside!
In honor of this glorious event, I give you a Flashback pic from last winter...Zig being all scooty in the snow.

Thats a stunning photo of Ziglar. He's a true beauty! Horses are such majestic animals.

Chooch - where is that cold? I just had to turn my a/c on while I was cooking. It looks dreary out but it's very humid and warm.

6 days until we leave for Thanksgiving in the mountains. Mommabird is heading for warm and we're hoping to get to cold!

Making a double batch of dressing to freeze. One for us and one for my kids who aren't going with us. It's a gluten free cornbread dressing that takes half a day to make and is my late MIL's recipe. They insist I make it even if I'm not going to be home! All the while watching the Saints lose their game. Ack....

Hi, Ms. Cruzer! :) Well, it's not now as cold as it's going to get (41 degrees); but it is raining, so cold and damp. Will be in the low 20's for Mon. and Tues. night. On top of it all, we keep a cool......okay, a cold house to keep hubbs sinuses from acting up with the gas heat and much better sleeping. Matter of fact, yrs. ago when old bod decided it was time to surprise me with flashes of heat, the A/C went way down at night so at least I could get some sleep.....mostly. Previous two houses had air to air heat pumps. Much better and less dusty! :p

We've spent quite a bit of time on St. Thomas. It is still one of the prettiest Caribbean islands and we've been to most more than once. My first visit to St. Thomas was a week on land in 1984. I think that was my first time out of the continental U.S. Since then, we've been there a dozen times on cruises. There's always something fun to do and the people are so nice. You're going to have a great time!

I agree on the gas heat Chooch and its so drying. I'm allergic to burning wood so we rarely light the fireplace even if we do have a cold snap. We keep our house cool also for pretty much all the same reasons. :D nothing like sleeping where it's coolest.
