This park will be wall-to-wall people today, as it is on most hot, sunny days and/or Holidays... but is nice and peaceful during the winter months.
(not to mention that everything pretty much stays Green year 'round here in CA - Ha!!)

This is from our trip to the beach a few weeks ago. It was just a day trip but I wish it could have lasted longer. I hate the sand and the water but I love breeze and the sand. Yes, I hate the sand and I love it too.

October Contest
Halloween is the biggest holiday of the year in our house (you can wear a costume outside without people making fun of you and there's candy!), and it's the last holiday of the year where the stress of preparing for the holiday doesn't approach or exceed the joy it brings (meaning it's easier to do something complicated than it will be in November or December). So October is four-contests-in-one month! There will be three distinct contests with specific rules and specific prizes, and then one "free for all" contest that wraps all the entries of each of those into the normal October contest. Here is the way it will work:
In order to qualify for the general October contest, an entry must qualify for one of the three "sub-contests." This means that every entry will be eligible for two different prizes. Basically, you just pick which of the three specific sub-contests you want to enter. You can enter more than one sub-contest (you have five entries after all) and each picture will be eligible for one sub-contest and the catch-all contest. No picture will be eligible for more than one sub-contest, though. October Free-For-All: Every entry that qualifies for one of the other contests qualifies for this one.

Now You See Me--No, You Don't: Clandestine Vaping. This is not stealth vaping, this is improvised disguise vaping--you're hiding who you are, not what you're doing. It's like a costume but made from whatever you find at hand--paper mustache, finger mustache, googly glasses, paper bag turban. You can be as creative as you want, but don't work too hard on it or you'll end up in the next contest instead.
Rules for Now You See Me; No, You Don't (in addition to the General Rules):
Costume Contest: Just what it says. No minimum level of effort, no maximum level of effort--any costume is welcome as long as it's "family friendly."

- Vaping is not required
- Picture must be of you or a family member, no "pictures from the intarwebz"
