Movie theater vaping

I've vaped every time I go to a movie, since I started vaping. I also don't want to obscure others' view, so I just blow it down toward the floor. No one has ever said anything to me.

But I always go to Muvico and sit in their VIP seating. Reserved seating, table arm rests wide enough to put your food from the restaurant and drinks from the bar, and no one under 21 allowed. It's like 1st class on an airplane - it just transforms the movie experience.

FYI: use a cup of ice and exhale INTO the straw. No vapor goes out.

PS, use a large cup. Keep ice level low. You need space for the vape to dissapate.

Discrete vaping is not hard if you vape a mouthful, inhale and blow it downward. It's possible to do that with no vapor floating upward, especially if the juice is 100% PG.

Amy Miles, CEO of AMC Regal Cinemas, is a client of mine. I work at her house regularly. I gave her Cliff's Notes on vaping when I inquired as to her company's stance on vaping. I had my wooden VV mod with me and she was quite interested as I demonstrated the operation and explained the benefits and legalities. She was unaware of e-cig's existence and said she would talk to her PR guy as to the company's position on vaping. Her main concern was whether or not e-cigs emit light, as it would be a distraction.

I've "stealth vaped" at the movies by covering the light on my eGo and blowing the vapor out my nose after holding the puff a little longer to decrease the "cloud".

You might also ask her to speak to HR about creating a policy for employees (in non-public areas while on break, natch). I was with Regal as a manager for over 10 years, and I may be going back next year, so I actually have a personal interest in this. Having a company policy in favor of PVs would also go a long way towards fixing any issues that arise with landlords, which always ends up on the desk of Property Management (where some of my favorite people work) and ends up trickling over to HR who has to decide whether or not employees were doing anything wrong in the first place. I dealt with this at a theatre in a multi-tenant location for over five years just because no one could decide where a designated smoking area should be. It got ridiculous.

And hey, maybe allowing patrons to vape will cut down on the dozens of courtesy cups full of chew spit that get left behind on the floor for the employees to clean up. Gross, so gross. And for those who are guilty of that very offense, please realize that saliva is a bodily fluid, and as such, if it is spilled it's not supposed to be cleaned up by a minor. Yup. On some shifts, everyone except the managers are minors. At least walk the little cup over to the trash can. Have mercy on the overworked theatre managers of the world, please. I may not be one at the moment, but you never really forget what it's like.

I sympathize with the spit cup. there is nothing like hopping into an armored vehicle in the dead of summer after sitting in the heat all day, just to knock over a cup of ripe smelling days old dip spit. then I have the great pleasure of cleaning that mess so i don't smell it the whole convoy.
back on topic, the trick mentioned about the ice cup works great, just don't do it through a full cup. my wife complained about the strange cinnamon flavor our coke developed after I tried that one.

I can. When I was pregnant with my first child, my husband and I were staying his aunt and uncle. Uncle had quit smoking by switching over to chew. I had a sports cup that I bought for using at work. One morning I work up and his chew was in my cup. I was 3 months pregnant and didn't go to work that day because I was busy talking to the porcelain god after seeing it.

I vaped in the theater the other day. There was maybe 6 people in there and I was way in back. I looked up and saw a huge cloud of vapor being illuminated by the projector, it was so satisfying. It was the highlight of My Idiot Brother.

If you noticed a huge cloud in the theater of the Chandler Fashion Center Harkin's, it was probably mine. If I got bored with a movie, I would start filling up the theater with clouds of vape. One benefit of theaters is they're usually cold, which keeps the vapor from dissipating quickly. Sometimes a manager will come check for smokers, but after they find no smell, they go away.

As for stealth vaping, if you have a high power PV, like the TW Screwdriver, or a 1000mah ECO, you are gonna generate vape. Holding it in a little longer than usual can help, then try exhaling into your shirt or sweater. I have done this in a packed theater without a single look. The idea of the cup with a little ice is crafty, but the cup noise will generate more disconcerting stares than vape seepage. Also try to sit in the back where you can exhale straight up - this will create less of a distraction for the other viewers.

Great thread! Theaters are the one place you simply cannot avoid vaping. I remember being a smoker and leaving the theater in the middle of the movie for a smoke break - I do not miss that at all!

Not being able to smoke is part of the reason I waited for the DVD,lol....cant wait to try it out!!!
