You and I are similar in our sense of sarcasm, I've come to realize. It's a fantastic dynamic to have with someone on a forum.

My sense of humor is pretty edgy and warped and I've been posting on message boards (bulletin boards - yeah, I'm an old techie) since 1988 so I guess I've developed a good sense of conveying tone via text.

Believe it or not, I actually tone it down a bit in here....LOL

I need them....expecting vapemail
:D

Sorry, wrong thread. That's Mailman Stalkers Anonymous. ;)

From reading this thread, it's plain everybody has a different opinion. I went thru the same thing when I started metal detecting back in '99. I've got a bunch of detectors now and most of them get very little use. I told myself when I started vaping that if I liked it and it worked, I would stick with what I first bought. So far, so good. Other than juices, the only parts I have bought is a Kanger ProtankII and some extra coils for it, and a few extra Iclear 16's. Fingers crossed!! Anybody wanna buy a good used detector...or four??

No, but I have a mod I'll trade ya for one. :D

Yup. Thats Arkie humor.

No sweetie, that's just humor. Arkie humor typically has something to do with another SEC team. :pervy:

Anyone else absolutely not fall into this category...

Look, I'm glad I finally kicked analogs after 20 years, I can't believe vaping is so satisfying... I fell into the category of "I don't want to quit" I enjoy it too much, yet here I am... a non-smoker. :O

I'm not even a month in yet (25 days) but I've never gone this long without a smoke and I don't even care, I enjoy vaping so far, although I'm a little worried what will happen when I run out of gear to buy.

My smoking addiction has changed into buying vaping gear...

I used to smoke a pack a day, but I've spent almost a years worth of cigarette smoking in 25 days on all kinds of crap.

At one point I was tracking 22 packages.. I'm completely addicted to vaping gear, and at this rate it will cost me a hell of a lot more than smoking ever did.

I guess the justification is my health, but crap... smoking was a lot cheaper than vaping.

And that's the truth.

I'm late to this thread, but it can and does happen. Checking my total expenditures since I started vaping and stopped smoking, My total savings is about $2,400 in the last roughly year and a half. The key is to find things that work for you - that gets expensive at first between trying devices and trying juice. You can definitely turn this into rocket science or model trains if you decide to!

I was spending $250-$310 a month on smokes. I average less than $100 a month on vaping stuff. I buy the juices I love and have settled on two tank systems that require me to replace the heads occasionally. The three vaping devices I use are a Provari and an MVP (1) with Novas and Protank 2's, and when "on the go" Kgo's with LR cartomizers. All work fine for me and recurring costs are nice and low. :)

In the wilderness
I found myself wanting to buy a bunch of hardware but kept going back to the same device. So I focused on the juice I liked. Now after only 4 months analog free I'm ready to diy my own juice.

Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk

I remember your vaper's tongue episode. I made the mistake of starting DIY when I had vaper's tongue. When I started actually tasting my juice again I was pleasantly surprised how well most turned out and shocked just how sweet one was.

I recommend start simple then gradually start making complex mixtures.

I shouldn't have read this thread.

My boyfriend got me into this, and I constantly remind him of that! Anytime I buy a new tank he laughs at me. He's quite happy with his ego type battery and his top coil clearo (though he did get an outrageous deal on a Seego g-hit).

I had to go get a Protank 2, an Aro pyrex, and a mini protank 2. I also got an ego twist. Now, I realize this is small beans for many of you. And I'm quite happy with what I do have, especially since I found a local mixmaster genius e-liquid seller. But dangit, every time I go into the shop to pick up my liquid, I see all those fun little gizmos and gadgets just begging to be further researched!! I've yet to rebuild a coil, which I do fully intend to do soon. Everyone makes it look so simple!!

I didn't jump on the hella deal on the MVP I saw everyone snagging the other day, so I was quite proud of me. :p But yes, this truly has been so much cheaper. Spending $35-$40 a week on cigarettes vs the 15 or so I spend on liquid or such...... cheaper. Yummy.

I see it as a constant reward to myself for quitting smoking.

Like - "oh you've done so well being off cigs for so many years you deserve another device"

and - "great job not going on that smoke break, there's a new clearomizer, pull the trigger"

or - "wow you did good explaining to that person how vaping is a better alternative to smoking, you should celebrate with some new e-liquid"

That's usually what i tell myself, and YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE

-now WHERE'S THE NEXT SALE!!!!!!!

I too am in the "massive deficit" category.... Before vaping, I was doing MYO at about $1/pack (store-boughts are over $10/pack here!!)

I do think that part of it is the "quitting cigarettes" obsession. Some people eat a lot when they quit smoking. A few spend ungodly amounts of time obsessively reading and posting on ECF (No, EvilZoe, I'm actually not talking about you!). Some are so amazed about how e-cigarettes have helped them quit (or at least drastically reduce) cancer sticks that they want to get stuff to convert their friends over.

There certainly is a fanaticism for many of us; I do think a lot of it is "smoking-replacement". I'm on FastTech multiple times a day, and checking USPS and HKPost tracking constantly. And reading a LOT on ECF (posting occasionally). And zinging EvilZoe whenever I see the opportunity. And buying a LOT of stuff, much of which is still unused, and would still be in the shipping packages if I didn't need to handle it as soon as the mailer hit my front porch! Yes, it is an obsession (or perhaps more accurately, a VERY INTENSE FOCUS) on e-cigarettes. I think it has a LOT to do with the fact that I'm quitting cigarettes.

It also has to do with the fact that there is a LOT to try, a LOT to see, and a LOT to learn. Also, a lot of folks who haven't been able to quit smoking before are the hard-cores (like me) who haven't previously been able to quit in large part because we're very compulsive-obsessive. That's not true of every smoker today (which is why there are people even here who are perfectly satisfied with their ego starter kits, they WORK for them). But for me, once I got started, I then needed supplies, kanthal, different mods, different heads, concentrated nic juice, oh, yeah, and had to try e-liquid from at least 10 different vendors! Boiled cotton twine and cotton balls, bought a pair of "Helping hands" and a variety of storage containers, carrying pouches, etc. It is all part of being a recovering cigarette addict, at least in my case.

REALLY REALLY wish I could get in a good zing on EvilZoe, somehow I got nothin. Maybe tomorrow?

Edit: I really did like "For the love of Zoe" above!!!!!!

I have 3 perfectly good T3S's, and 3 15ml bottles of
Vaping monkey, and 3 flavors steeping from MBV. Good stuff, should last me a bit right?

Nope.

Just ordered another 5 pack of T3s's, two protank 2s, and Altered State and CLS from nicoticket. I don't get paid for another week, oops!

Only been smoke free/vaping for 5 weeks and this has already consumed my life LOL. My gf enjoys her PV I got for her (she still smokes.. Is finally cutting back though) but she's getting that weird "who are you" look on her face when I pick up the mail and get all excited. LMAO

Altered State is AWESOME. CLS is one of my dailies so that's right up there, as well.

I just traded my first born for more vape stuff I don't need. Then I sold my car that I still owe money on for credit at the local B&M. That damn Zoe.

That's okay. I have strong shoulders. I can carry all the blame.

I come from hardy Slovak peasant stock and I'm strong like bull.
