Speaking of stripped threads... Does anyone know if they have upgraded them on the 20W?

Most of that problem will be taken care of by the flush mount. Most that I have read about and or seen, was due to the weight of the tank/rda etc, with no lower thread cover. The flush mount on the new 20watt should more than take care of that by adding stability, and taking the off angle weight shifting off the threads.
I have never used either of my MVPs (1 is 2 years old, and the other fairly new) with out a support collar

$39 bucks *is* a sale...

Yes, and these are the holidays. A time to encourage spending. I am sure that price is not going to go up after the first of the year. They may even sweeten the deals on them some how.

Two of my 3 MVP2s are almost a year old and no thread issues. Maybe the people posting about threads have V1 or overtighten or ?

In another thread someone posted that MVPs have plated brass connector and soft but mine don't seem that way. Maybe SS.

bought mine in june, its my only apv, topper is not ss and i was switching out atty's numerous times throughout the day, dropped it too many times to count probably also stretched out the threads.
i finally replaced my mucked up 510 threads on my mvp2 w/a fatdaddy 510

My 510 threads are messed up after one too many drops. Entirely my fault and am anxiously awaiting the MVP 3, even though I'm going to be jealous of my brother's MVP20 while I wait for mine to become available.

Well, my 20W finally arrived this morning. I've only been using it for an hour or so now, but they have made some pretty significant improvements. The outside is nearly identical with the exception of making the buttons for adjusting voltage or wattage a bit stiffer and don't rattle like the MVP2. I wish they would have changed it so you can go up and down through the range instead of it only going up. The guts must have changed quite a bit too. I rarely used the VW mode on my MVP2 because it gave me a slightly burnt taste. The MVP20 even at a higher wattage doesn't. I'm using a mini protank3 with a 1.5ohm coil at 12.5 watts. The connector is so much better too, even the adapter is better than the connector on the MVP2. Innokin did a heck of a job, as usual. I'll try to get some pics of it up this evening.

Where did you order yours from and how much was it?

that's great minny mike, glad you got it (no problems)

the 'up only' bugs me too ; wonder if the new VV4 (which now also has the 32-bit ARM microprocessor)
and goes both ways, will have the feature removed...?

the old connector being plated brass and the new being stainless steel should prove
to be a huge improvement
(Innokin knows they made a grave mistake going cheap on the connector, not again)

well wish you many good vapes with your new vape toy :D

Testing the output voltage. Am I doing it right ??

Oooooooooooooo, thru a device connected...?

it’s is beyond my knowledge
but I think for a true reading you need to measure
from the devices output, not via a connected device
did you do same type of measurement several months ago, with different results ?
and you still never said - “Is it not working right ? “

It's working. But compared to my
IPV2 at the same wattage it seems to be weaker. Like when I switch atties from my IPV2 to my MVP2. No big deal anyway.
It's probably just me. :)

OK, gotcha

but is MVP working DIFFERENT than it used to ??
(did you see some sort of change that made you meter it ?)

or just as compared to IPV and such ?

They didn't go cheap on the connector. Brass conducts much better than SS. problem is that brass is also much softer and prone to damage.

So... no one else is saying it, but you basically just read the voltage across the resistor (coil). If you knew the amperage as well, you could have determined the resistance of the coil fairly accurately. If you want to measure the output of the MVP2, you will want to do that right at the 510. Some of those screw in readers are good for this (as pictured) and some aren't. Either way, as has been pointed out... the MVP was probably already dropping the output voltage based on max power output versus just hitting an amp limit and keeping the voltage high.

I have high precision resistors (3.2 Ohm @ 25W +/-1%) that I use for testing output in situations like this, that way I can compare my observed results with the expected results.

I was just guessing at 1.6 ohms for the coil based on expected amperage output from the MVP2... forgot that it was probably dropping the voltage as well.

Was the issue ever with the brass... or with the non-conductive insulator allowing the brass pin to slip... I thought it was the pin slipping... either way, your 510 looks way better!

Just felt the difference between the two devices and thought to check them. and the IPV felt different as in gave me more intensity (more vapor and flavor) at the same wattage as the MVP2 with the same atty and build.
