There s nothing wrong with a bit of experimentation

start at low wattage and work your way up in small increments till your juice tastes right

I will add that if you get to over 9/9.5 watts maybe the juice is a bit too subtle for your taste

So I hear all of these people talking about running their MVPs on 9 or 10 watts and I can't get mine over 7 watts without it tasting like poo. I've got an I clear 30 (the one with the long wicks) and its showing at R2.1 am I doing something wrong?

My 9 or 10 watt setting is with a Kayfun (rebuildable tank), which has both better wicking and better airflow than a a clearo. I run my Protanks (when I still use them) at about 6 watts, they just don't have the airflow or wicking to keep up with higher wattage.

So it sounds like 6 to 7 watts is about the norm for a clearo. I'm not knowledgeable enough nor handy enough to get into the rebuildables. Not to mention don't have the time between my two jobs. Lol

I have put a few comments about the iStick here and the other two threads as well.

There was a lot of discussion about the Nautilus when it first came out. More so with the mini in the VV V3 thread.

Then Beyond Vapes came out with their Silo tank (which personally I think looks better), which is a Nautilus with even more airflow choices for $35 bucks. And no one is talking about it here at all?

Its all about preference Peter and the Pro tank 2 with the mvp is a great pair. Awesome airflow and then u van really save ur self on buying coils cause u can rebuild em.

I personally have not tried the nautilus hear its a great tank. But as much as I vape i dont need something that has expensive coils. Thats my take and opinion on the situation.

Speaking for myself the Nautilus costs about 10 times the cost of my current topper ... will it deliver 10 x the vaping satisfaction ?

The iStick looks a handy tool but I ve got my mvp and the stick is as yet not time proven

maybe when my mpv craps out the stick will have been around long enough to be a competitor as a replacement

but until then there is too much chance of falling for the emperors new clothes syndrome

Do you own and use a Nautilus and iStick, maybe you could give us a review ?

Most of my toppers (kanger and aspire) I still use 7 watts. It just seems that the i30 needs more power. Low ohms and high ohms need more watts than in the middle ohms. The i30 has two 4.4 ohm coils to give the 2.2 ohm reading.

Another thing about the BVC coils in the Nauty and mini is that people seem to be using them at higher watts than the 11 watt limit of the MVP.

With the iClear 30 it came with (2.1 ohms) I can go to 9w, but my Evod/PT 2 mini (1.8 ohms) will taste like nuclear winter above 6.5w. I've switched to using the Voltage settings when I use those tanks, and watts with the iClear. Maybe its the smaller tank size who knows.

Should I let my mvp do the 999 clean burn? I just don't understand why it would do it if it's not something that needs to be done every now and then. I know I could just reset, but is there a point to it?

I don't pay much attention to the counter but it will roll over from 999 to 000 and keep going. Then you can add the new count to 1000 for a total.

Iown use and love both the Nautilus and the Silo even more, I have ordered an iStick but do not yet have one. While I would be happy to share my thoughts, I am just a guy that vapes rather than smokes, it is not really a 'hobby' for me, nor am I a collector just to have a thing. I do not rebuild because I have lousy hands, and am not capable. So I look at total cost of vaping (fixed income). I used to be a carto/tank guy, but so far the heads last longer so total cost between the two makes using the Silo cheaper for me than carto/tanks did. Plus, I actually discern a minor increase in flavor in this swap as well.

The reason for liking the greater airflow choices the Silo offers is for me, heads start to draw harder with age, and usually I must swap heads when it seems like I am sucking fudge through a straw. With the Silo, I can simply open the airflow more and get roughly another week out of the head.

Any such review coming from me is non-technical, as I have no tools for measuring anything - making such a review simply an opinion.

I have a theory why a bvc coil would allow you to vape liquids at 11 watts that would normally taste burnt at anything above 8 watts

after all physics says that if you heat a liquid to a certain temperature you will get a reaction ( in this instance sweet spot )

if you heat the same liquid to a higher temperature you will get a more extreme reaction ( burnt taste )

the only conclusion I can draw is that the extra wicking material and enclosed form of the bvc

have a damping effect on the coil which would also allow for the juice to remain at its sweet spot temperature

for longer, which may account for the reports of improved flavour

a question for bvc users does a juice that rocks in a pt2 at 7 watts have the same effect in a bvc topper at the same wattage ?

I'm puzzled as to why the BVC coils wouldn't work with the Silo Lite, they are externally physically identical to the BDCs...
