I was informed that some people peel the two outer layers off the pad and use the soft middle layer for wicking. What I mean is there is a top layer and bottom layer, then in the middle of the pad there is a fluffy softer layer. They said to peel the hard layers off and use the middle layer for wicking. Just wondering if that is the preferred method of using KGD or any other organic cotton pad brand?

That is my practice with both Shiseido and KGD.

Here is a vid I made on how I prep, use and store KGD :)

It is the ONLY cotton claimed to be raised without chemicals, pesticides or treated with any during processing.

No other pad states that. That's HUGE and worth the extra $4 (or whatever) over any other brand. Just check out the Koh Gen Do website :)

Recently switched from cotton to Labo (from Amazon ~$12) and I'm amazed at the difference. Anyone still on the fence I can't recommend it enough - no break in/off flavor, every hit is extremely consistent whether short or long.
I agree with you. Got mine a few weeks back. Took 3 weeks to get here, but now I have enough to last a long time.
