My Simple Cart Mod

Wow, thanks to everyone! I am a noob to this forum but have not had a cigarette in over 3 weeks, pain free! I love this forum and ecigs, just got eliquid today to start filling all my used njoy Npro carts that thankfully I saved and they work perfectly with refilling.

My question is do you need to wait till they are compressed up a little by time and refilling or can I start cutting them up right away to get more juice in? Any help appreciated.

One more question, about how many drops are we talking? Just for me to use as a guide, my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be...

Hi Tamera,

You really start using it right away, or rinse it and dry it with a paper towel if its a used fill.
Just note what Highping said: if its the fluffier polyfill cut it to half. If its the denser one, cut it to a 1/4 (I cut both to about a quarter of its length). Now i think your njoy pro is a supermini. If so you have to stick a clip up the little hole in the mouth piece and push the tiny cart out. Fill it to about 3/4 of its size with juice. Pop the tiny polyfill you just cut. Add 2 or 3 drops on top till its soaked but not overfilled.

Later i will try this on my crappy supermini from NUCIG (yes THIS COMPANY SUCKS!) and see if all is ok.

I have a new name for the HighPing mod.

The Maxwell House Mod MHM - good to the last drop :D

This cleaver modification not only allows you to get more into the cart, the wicking ability of this mod (if correctly done) is very similar to dripping. I have not dripped in 2 days. Mind you that is with my liquid, and I have vaped my carts dry.

A note for HP: Maybe it is the result of the liquid I use a 75/25 mix, that renders great wicking properties of this mod, but unlike you, I do not need to take the plug out to refill a cart. I did it only once (when vapour production has decreased) to see if the cart was empty, it sure was.

I believe that the weight of the head of liquid (on a still wet plug) is sufficient to wick the juice into the cart, at least with my mix. Something to ponder :)

Me thinks this thread should be moved to cart mods. Me thinks a LOT of people are missing this MOST valuable piece of GREAT information....But thats just me thinking! :)

Or figure out how to make the same thread show up in both forums... Elendil???

It belongs here and there. Here, because it is so darn simple, and there because it IS a cart mod.... Well a filler mod anyway.

I wonder what other gems are hiding here in the tips & tricks forum. Hmmm. Will have to spend some time here.

Thanks to everyone for all the great feedback on this.
Great stuff to hear!

Very nice to know that it's making vaping life a little easier for so many

BTW: Don't forget to check out my atty cleaning method if you've got some old attys that aren't cutting it anymore. Takes 5-10 minutes start to finish with no special cleaners, soaking, drying overnight, etc. I'm using an atty that has had about 400ml of juice vaped through it and it's still hitting like new.

HighPing, this is awesome and truly appreciated! Thanks so much for sharing! I do have a question though for anyone that can help, I have a couple of new atomizers (510) that have a round disc inside instead of being rectangular. Does it matter how I insert the cart? I'm hoping this isn't a really dumb question...Thanks!

Doesn't matter at all.

I used this method and have had issues with either my atty or battery immediately stop working, then I blow through the atty, replace the battery and it seems to work again. Very scary since I'm new without a backup atty which I will get addressed today!

I use an Npro. I did find that if I fill the carts and let them sit awhile and wick down, they seem to work ok. Anyone else have experience with this?

I think your Njoy has an exposed atty, but you could be flooding your battery. Try and get the plug of poly a little bit longer (or thicker) and do not fill the cart with too much juice. Whenever that happens again, unscrew you atomizer and check for juice in the battery connection. If its wwet with juice, you are flooding it. Anyway, when an atty is flooded you can tell right away: you will be making a gurgling noise whenever you draw.

I have come to find that out as well with "this" mod, but the alignment of a rectagular bridge in a rectangular cart does with the PTB. One must think of the construction of the PTB mod an dhow it affects atty seating.

With a round atty, it shouldn't matter with either mod me thinks

Just a little update.
While using this method with TW PG juice in the 510, It works very well :)

I tried some PEG juice that I got the other day and I could see before trying it, that the liquid was thinner and to no surprise, leaked everywhere.

So, it's always going to be a balancing act on the type of fluid used in relation to how much or how thick the filler material being used in the cart :)

I haven't tried this mod yet however, after reading all the posts it seems to have a high success rate so I will have to try it. However, highping when I read your post about the manufacturer changing the cart filler I think it is because of the dry top of filler prob. The new filler seems to allow you to dry out the material completely. As I read this post I vaped the rest of my cart. I got a burnt hit so i decided to check. The filler matches your description of the new filler your talking about and it was completely dry. Now, I will say this I know for sure that I cant vape every cart dry even these new ones because I have gotten plenty of burnt drags on carts with a good amount of liquid in them. Sometimes resting the PV for a few mins does the trick sometimes not. It seems to depend on how long you have been using the filler. Great Mod and even if I can't get it to work right I give you all the credit in the world because I know I would of never thought of this and I know I probally will never think of any kind of mod. Maybe but I doubt it.

i've done this mod with both a 901 cart and 4081 cart. sweet merciful jesus. Highping, you win.

I had my first couple attempts leaked a bit (luckily i had about 15 carts to practice on :) ) i found if i cut the polyfill a little longer than a third and rolled em around a bit they stuck better (i attribute this to the polyfill expanding after compression from my fingers)

got my 4081 to about 7-8 drops and my 901s to about 20

all in all, thoroughly impressed
