could someone please tell me my amp limit for this battery. And if its protected. I would like to know if its ok to use in a mech mod with around 1 or 1.5 ohms

green smoktech ICR 18500 1600mah (came with my bolt)

I find it ridiculous that i cant find any info out about his batteries amp limit on the websites of the vendors that sell this. come on people

It looks to be protected. See on the positive end where it looks like there is something attached to the battery under the wrapping?

EDIT: Cancel that, I think I'm wrong. My unprotected batteries look the same after a closer inspection.

yeah i see your concept. It looks like it could be a protection circuit to me too. but since you said your other batteries have that too im stumped. Im not gonna use this battery in my rebuildables till i figure out the amp limit. I just still cant believe all these vendors selling batteries without amp limits in the description. it just seems like such valuable information missing. I appreciate you trying to help. maybe someone that knows this battery can chime in.

What mixed feedback are you possibly getting? These things are The Battery right now. You are fine, who is saying otherwise?

someone in the discussion at fasttech was talking trash about this battery showing pics of melted mods and what not. I still bought the battery though. THanks for making me feel more confident in my purchase. I couple of us on the discussion were sticking up the for battery. check it out.

That is an ICR battery. The "C" stands for Cobalt. If something were to go wrong, this battery would explode. I don't use ICR batteries. Although there are newer technologies which I haven't thoroughly explored for safety, I personally choose to use only IMR batteries from reputable distributors/manufacturers, the specs for which, I can find and understand.

PDIB!

This thread as so many replies... I really appreciate all the info you've given us! Can you just tell me what your top 3 batteries are for sub-ohm building? I really would like to see what you've used and recommended. I'm currently using Panasonic CGR18650CH - the grey ones... they're super cheap, have been vaping on themhard for 4 months - Their longevity seems to be going down the drain. I constantly vape at .4 - .6ohms - never any higher - it's my preferred zone! That resistance is perfect for my airflow (2.5mm holes)

So the original question... pdib and all other experienced sub 1.0ohm vapers... what are your top 3 batteries? I prefer 18650 for the mods I own.

A direct question.

AW IMR 18650 1600mAh (and only the 1600mAh)

I've also enjoyed the MNKEs

I'm not a battery guru. I'm happy with the rated capacities and reputations of the above. I'm very happy with their performance. Some of the newer stuff (Pannies, Sonys, PDs), I won't comment on, as I simply don't know enough to say.

I will also say that, the more I look into it, the more I find that a close second to rated capacity and high-drain design is the consideration of the odd tragic battery. Faulty, weak, etc. I'm not interested in saving a few bucks here. I will use the chemistry that has the least likelihood of exploding in my face. Given that, the 24 Amp continuous discharge rating of the AW 1600 gives me all the sub-ohm draw I could even imagine using.

I watched a bit of a bishop vid. Enough to see him say that, when he gets down to a certain resistance (don't remember if it was .4Ω), he pulls the PDs and uses the AWs (or the MNKEs)

Lemme just add this. When I shop for batteries, I want something rated ABOVE what I'm pulling. I want that battery to have an easy life!

Orbtronic pd2900's.

From the un-official sub ohm ruler...Bishop.

Seriously though, they stay cooler than the other side of the pillow.

There are others, but these are in current rotation. No pun.

Loving these batteries.

I'm using the non-rebranded, Panasonic NCR18650PD myself, but regardless, they're a sweet sweet battery for high drain vaping....

Still outperformed by the Samsung.
Eh, I don't go too low. And swap out a charged set of 4.

Performance on par with a clean mech with no voltage loss, carlton jesus!

Even when pulse oxidizing, which usually starts the coil at .2, they stay cool.

Thanks buddy.

Ive read most of your posts on your thread - even though you're not an expert - you've definitely ran the gaunlet more than I have in terms of trying diff. batteries.

Unfortunately I didn't see your post until today. I walked into a Vape Shop in Temecula, CA (Jay's Vapor Supplies) and asked what they use for sub-1.0ohm-vaping, and they said admittedly they don't stock the best of the best but they sold me on some IMR 18650 3.7v 2000mAh red batteries.

Hard to tell if they will be better than my grey panny 18650CH's - I was trying to get away from my grey panny's even though they are SUPER cheap, but I got no longevity out of them. They preformed well for maybe 3 months - after 6 months they lost their kick for sure.

My next purchase will be the MNKE's or the AW IMR 1600mAh for sure.

Thanks again for helpin a brotha out':2cool:

It looks like most of the discussion here is in regards to 18650s. But what is the skinny on 18490/18500s for sub ohm (.7~1.0)? What would be the recommendation here? I've been using AW IMR 18490 1100mAh. Are these ok? And what about these:Batteries : AW Protected 18500? Would these be safe to use in a reo mini?
