Well, I was using my pv at work for a while. Eventually there was an issue with one of the bosses. It went up to the health and safety departments... My shift said they didn't care if I used it, but first shift said no. (If it looks like smoke it is basically). So I was told that if I am caught using it again in the building, the punishment will be the same as if I was caught smoking a tobacco cigarette in the building (I believe first offense is a week suspension without pay). Management said that's how it is until further notice.

My committeeman told me to bring in documentation and the reason I am not allowed to use it is that they don't have enough information about it. If I could provide documentation, they may reconsider. Although it's a long shot and i'm not having high expectations, I plan on providing some info. I plan on a 2 part report. One part will be a source of information to show them that pv's are not included in the smoking ban in my state and that they will not be fined for allowing me to use it in the building (which is part of their concern), and the other part will deal with the ingredients, and the safety of those around me when I am using it.

If you have any good sources that make things sound good for us, but is also a respectable news source (can't be an article from like www.buyourelectroniccigarette.com). Let me know. Thanks. And if somehow I do end up winning this, it will be a huge victory for the vaping community as this is a very large corporation.

Definitions. As used in this chapter:
(A) “Smoking” means inhaling, exhaling, burning, or carrying any lighted cigar, cigarette, pipe, or other lighted smoking device for burning tobacco or any other plant. “Smoking” does not include the burning of incense in a religious ceremony.

I believe if you provide the information/demonstration that your PV does not do any of these, it could help.

This is a good one:

Conclusion

Ruyan® V8 nicotine e-cigarette users do not inhale smoke or smoke toxicants. The modest reductions recommended in 2008 by WHO’s Tobacco Regulation committee for 9 major toxicants in cigarette smoke, in line with Articles 9 and 10 of the FCTC (WHO Framework Convention Tobacco Control treaty), are already far exceeded by the Ruyan® e-cigarette, as it is free of all accompanying smoke toxicants. Absolute safety does not exist for any drug, but relative to lethal tobacco smoke emissions, Ruyan e-cigarette emissions appear to be several magnitudes safer. E-cigarettes are akin to a medicinal nicotine inhalator in safety, dose, and addiction potential.

E-cigarettes are cigarette substitutes.

Hi! I have found the following article regarding the ban...of course, I can't post the link to the article because I haven't made enough posts...but, it in the Columbus Dispatch from 6/13/09.

.dispatch.com/live/content/local_news/stories/2009/06/13/ecigarettes.ART_ART_06-13-09_A1_8BE5S9S.html

The ban does not include e-cigarettes because they do not burn tobacco or any other plant, said Kristopher Weiss, spokesman for the Ohio Department of Health. Still, he said, "We don't see them here as a safe alternative to smoking."
