I'm fairly certain down the road i will cave and buy the Kgo as well, the price is quite reasonable, and my girlfriend is trying to kick the habit as well, so two devices might be nice in the end. I would appreciate any further suggestions for places to get (808 threaded?) cartomizers at good prices, e-juice vendors people favor that have good selections and rates, and defintely some things i would need to get with the Kgo kit as well so i can make a list of what i will buy in the near future when i try that kit as well.

Also wanted to be sure i get the right size cartos in the future (808) where can i order those or get an adapter to use 510 with my volt?

Thanks again to so many folks being so helpful so quickly, it is rare on the net, and much appreciated!

-Erik

If you get a volt, you wont need a kgo down the road. The volt x2 is the same exact thing as the kgo except it's got 808 threading. If you are getting a volt, use the promo code "sivolt50" for 15% off. Also, once you get it, you can go to their subforum and get a free battery, bottle of juice or pack of cartos if you post a pic of yourself with the volt.

Volt cartomizers work really well, the are horizontal bottom coil and don't burn as easy as other types with filler. From the 3 companies that sell the same product, they are the cheapest, even without a coupon.

Sailorman has recently turned me onto the fluxomizers from gotvapes and they work really well with the volt, I've been very impressed.

As far as juice. There are a lot of companies out there. The bet thing is th get a lot of 5-10ml samples until you find one you like. Several will give free bottles with an order.

Vapedudes.com has great flavors and I have not had a flavor that I didn't like. The have a coupon for a free bottle and a 40% off coupon. They will also let you return a juice that you don't like.

Welcome to ECF!! The cartos at Smoklessimage, where you could get a Volt are simple to use and refill. As a "social smoker" only 2-5 cigs a day, a carto could last you 2-3 days on a fill. Refilling is as easy as popping the top off with a paper clip and dripping some juice in 'till it's damp (avoiding the center hole, it's for air flow).

Sorry. I guess I was misled by the the ad banner, the equipment list and the coincidental sponsorship of vids on a website famous as a venue for infomercials.
As for "most veterans", I'll stand by that. It may be rarely true, but it's true for some things and when it comes to kr808's, it's demonstrably true. Just as most vets would advise against the Blu or Greensmoke, the Volt is, by far, the most recommended kr808 e-cig on this forum. I know V2 and V4L fans don't like it. I am biased, but I have no agenda. I don't even like mini-cigs and never recommend them unless there's no option. My bias is against all mini-cigs. I don't even know if SI has Youtube vids. There are plenty of non-product linked instructional vids on YT, so I never needed to find out. It's not bias or an agenda that makes me say that most veterans here recommend the volt as the best kr808, it's months and months of observation. After awhile, it becomes fairly obvious.

Yeah, but she does reviews independently. Her channel is not the "volt channel".

To the OP, the Volt uses Kanger horizontal coil cartos. You can find blanks other places, but they aren't as widespread as some of the standards like Boge or Smoketech. I've only seen them on a couple other sites, (but I haven't actively hunted for them) and they were about $1 higher than what SI charges. You can get a 808/510 adapter if you want to try other types of cartos. Those are sold almost everywhere that has vaping stuff. For an easy, good tasting carto without the filler, you might try 2.4-2.6ohm XL Fluxomizers from Gotvapes.com. They cost a buck or two more than regular Kangers, but they last 3 or 4 times longer and you don't have to worry about topping them off. You can vape them till they're dry and just refill them. They do come with an 808 thread.

I agree with Mroutlaw. The X2 battery has the capacity of a kGo and will fit all your Volt attachments. Plus, it has a passthrough, which is a nice feature the kgo doesn't have. They also have a large capacity clearomizer for it that is the same as the CE4 that a lot of kgo users like.

And, if you find some 510 attachment you'd like to try, you can just use your 808/510 adapter.

Very cool. The fluxomizers look pretty compelling, and a good value. I don't entirely understand the voltage stuff however. Should i only attempt to use those with the upgraded battery? (i just have the 2 standard 78m (380mah?) batts en route. )

And thats good to know about the different models. I finally went with the volt after much deliberation, just because i wanted the option of an automatic if i find it's more my speed (i ordered one auto one manual to try out) So it's great to know i can just get the battery add on in the future if i want more power and more vapeing options.

Can't wait to get the kit. Will defintely post a pic once i've tasted a few flavors and and figure what i'd want as a refill bottle (i only ordered 2 5x samplers to start, sweet, and smooth)

Can't thanks everyone enough for helping me get introduced to vapeing. =-D

I've got $5 I'll wager against a hole-in-a-donut that you will much prefer the manual after you've vaped both styles for a while.

Congrats on ordering your kit. Sounds like you're on your way.

I agree with all the recommendations for the Volt as a very good choice for what you said your needs are.

That said, you might find that you might want to add another PV to your arsenal at some point. Many, many vapers use different sizes for different occasions, and you just might find yourself being one of them. When you're just starting out, it can be hard to know exactly what your "needs" might just end up being; or maybe "wants" is more appropriate.

In general, the farther away you get from the look and size of a cigarette, the better the vaping experience; longer battery life, variable voltage for better vapor production and flavor, and less fiddling around with stand-alone cartomizers. And that said, you're very likely going to continue to use your Volt, and have a very warm spot for it in your heart, even if you do get another "better" setup in addition to it.

If or when you get to that point, there's what I consider a no-brainer upgrade that you could consider. The Joyetech Twist recently came on the scene; $25-30 for a 650-1000mah battery that's adjustable between 3.2 and 4.8 volts. Matched up with some Smoktech 3.5ml DCT tanks, some 2.0 - 3.0 ohm single coil stainless steel XL-sized cartomizers, a drip tip, and a charger, it's a great setup, all for in the neighorhood of fifty bucks. The tank will let you vape a lot longer than just a stand-alone carto will, and although you really didn't smoke all that much, you just might find yourself vaping quite a bit, in which case this setup would make a very nice addition to your kit IMO.

My favorite tobacco juices are Virginia, Honey Flue Nut, and Applewood, all from Backwoods Brews. Boba's Bounty from Alien Visions is also insanely popular, although I still haven't tried it myself.

Congratulations on your move away from cigarettes, and enjoy your vape, whatever it's on.

This is a very good thread about the Joyetech Twist:

http://www.e-cigarette-forum.com/fo...sion/302432-why-ego-c-twist-game-changer.html

I help a lot of people get off cigarettes, and I think so much of this setup that this weekend I bought 29 Twists, 40 tanks, and 70 cartos for about 15 people. I really do think it's a hell of a good way to start out, or a good setup to add to your arsenal. And I think the word "arsenal" is particularly appropriate because what we're really doing is fighting a war against our desire for cigarettes. Any weapon that keeps you off of them is a good one, including the Volt. To me, it's just good insurance to make your vape as enjoyable and hassle-free as possible, and I think a good argument can be made that this relatively cheap variable voltage setup will give you a better vape than the Volt will; but again, the Volt will always have its place, and will always be very, very good at what is was designed to do.

Again, good luck, and happy vaping.

You can use the Fluxomizers with the 78mm batteries. I'd go with the 2.4-2.6ohm XL variety. That matches your volt cartos most closely. You could probably get away with the 2.1-2.4ohm, but it might be a bit of a strain on your battery. The X2 would handle the lower resistance fine though. There's another volt user who tried them recently and he's very happy with them. He just wishes he'd have gotten the XL size instead of the standard length.

For understanding volts, watts, and ohms, I think these two threads are particularly helpful. The fact that I participated extensively in both of them is purely coincidental.. :)

I know, thats what I Iike. She is an independent reviewer. She doesn't even get paid to do the volt instructional videos, she does it for store credit. She has actually said she finds herself using the volt a lot.

Personally, I can't stand when you look n YouTube and its nothing more than paid advertisers.

Personally, l use both depending on my situation. When I am at home, I use manuals. You have more control and can get more vapor because you can press the button for a split second before vaping. But I prefer the automatics when I drive. I like being able to put it in my mouth and leave it there to vape

That would be me Sailorman. I've used the, for 24 hours now, and I love them. Although you can clean them and change juices, I'm going to use them like a regular carto. I'm filling and labeling as I get a new juice or dispose of a carto, I just tossed my first carto from smokeless image after a month of use. I think I will eventually switch from cartos to these all together. I just have 15 cartos already

Totally hear ya, its all good. I have no personal experience with volt, I guess I'm in the minority there but that's nothing new lol.... Didn't mean to come off as attacking you specifically either, there is certain phrasing that raises my hackles and I reacted without thinking about my phrasing. I'm certain you are correct on the volt and your point re the blu is well taken.

I tend to recommend BOTH the Volt and the Vapor King from V4L - the former because it gets rave reviews here and the latter because I personally used them for nearly two years and they were fabulous. They may not be the current fave but in my opinion, an XL manual V4L ecig is a top-notch ecig.

It's not always wise to trust that the e-cig models being touted here as "the best" are necessary the best for you. I remember very clearly when everyone here was bashing the 808 from V4L and instead promoting the 510 mini - with cartridges, mind you - as far superior. Now you'll see many people admitting that the 510/cart setup was less than ideal. All that time, I was happily vaping away on my 3.7v V4L ecig, happy as a clam.

To the OP: both the Volt and the Vapor King are very good 808 ecigs.

it seems the in canada its harder to find any e cigarettes here with nicitine and people have said that go here go there.
do you know of any places to find this kind of product in canada. thnks for your time.

I got lucky and found Daniel at GRBC (GRBC - Canada's home of premium eliquid and electronic cigarettes) and he has been very helpful and pretty quick to get my orders out to me. I've found a few other suppliers but can't tell you if there any goodor not, GRBC carries their very own blends(made in canada) and a bunch of different flavours from Tasty Vaper, all in your choice of nicotine content. I hope this helps, good luck and happy vaping!

Finally ordered a eGo Standard today from Capitalvape. Awesome customer service from James. Thanks to you good folk I got hooked up with a good Canadian hardware vendor.

Now I need to order nic/juice and unfortunately Capitalvape does not supply nic/juice.

Can anyone provide me with a nic/juice Canadian vendors list.

It would be most appreciated.

Alright. Got my volt kit and 10 carts and have been experimenting. For my starting package i got 2 samplers (smooth/sweet) 2 78mm batts (one auto one manual) the charging pack and a usb wall charger, no fluids yet as i don't know what i will like.

So far i'm still on the fence about a few things. The manual for example, i feel like i tend to overdraw on it more then the auto, which results in a throat hit that is sort of unpleasent, kind of searing and i don't enjoy it. I do the same occasionally on the auto but perhaps i'm doing something wrong?

I definitely want to find a tobacco-ish flavor as a primary before i try others, and i still have joe and ry4 to try so hopefully one will stand out.

As of yet, all the flavors i've tried seem too subtle for me. The watermelon is mostly in the aroma for me, not so much in the taste.. I would like the tastes in general to be STRONGER. I'm a black coffee drinker, and feel like the flavor is just not intense enough so far. I generally smoked natural ciggs for that very reason, a bigger taste that i enjoyed. (nat shermans.)

My girlfriend thought it was the coolest thing ever, and immediately wanted her own (ordered her an auto from volt as well) and i remember someone here saying that there was a volt forum i could post a pic too for a free juice or batt or something? Perhaps she will post one as well!

So far, i like it, but i don't LOVE it. Hoping that changes. Still have to try a clearomizer (for 808 threads i guess or do i need to just get an adapter and use 510?) and see if that helps for taste. Also, whats a good place to buy a BUNCH of 3-5 ml samplers and get a decent deal while i experiment? (figuring i'll just use a clearomizer and wash it, as i'd read you could clean those out and refill without much problem.) I've heard of "dripping" for taste tests but i suppose i would need more parts i do not have currently.

Again thanks for the advice people have given in here.

In my first order, I bought 2 of the Tornado tank setups from TW along with one of their Titan 510 and some clearomizers.
AFIK these are all joyetech and can pre purchased many places.

I do use my 510 fairly often, especially when I'm looking to be a bit more discreet. I just keep in in my shirt pocket. And one of the clearomizers works well for just the occasional vape break through a work shift... But that's just my two cents...
