And, while I may bad mouth the tech now, in light of better stuff, I gotta say this exact same mod I bought way back then has enabled 3 people to quit smoking.

I quit with it, I bought something bigger and gave this one to my GF, she quit with it.

She moved on to something bigger and gave it to a buddy at work, that person quit with it too. I dont know what happened to it after that...

Best $80 I ever spent in my life!

Yeah, it was the Ego/CE4 set-up which enabled me to not smoke cigarettes at all. But i won't bad mouth cigalikes. They helped me cut down tremendously, and if i didn't try them first, i'm not sure how soon i would have tried the Ego/CE4 set-up.

I hear you. This was the first one I tried, back around 2010, never did get it to work for more than avoiding tobacco for a few hours. Gave up on it after a week or two.

Then I found this around New Years 2013, havent smoked tobacco since the first time I puffed it. I took one puff and realized that "this" could actually work!

After that has been a long succession of trying most anything that was getting good reviews. I learned how to make my own juice, I learned how to make my own mods, and really I am satisfied with the mid 2016 tech and havent been searching anymore since. I can build that tech to be stronger than I think i would ever desire, but I can also tone it down to that "just right" for me place.

Bright and shiny is cool and all, but if I never advanced past where I am at now, I would be perfectly happy.

Same rig here, sometime...a long time ago. 2009? 2010? Heck if I can remember.

Now where are my dayum keyes (again!)?

A friend had me try his cigalike.

Chain smoked half a pack after sucking that thing dry.

But the concept! It intrigued me.

Another buddy gave me his ego kit. But without a charger and only half an atty full of some gawd oful watermelon tobacco.

It was MVS branded, whatever it was.

Sucked the atty dry about the time the battery went dead.

Then came here, got a direction and made the mother of all starter kit order.

At least for the time.

Protank
Vivi nova
Igo-l
Silica
Nichrome
Heads for both
Panasonic batteries
The rattlesnake (vamo)
Some accessories

And 30ml bottles of mt baker juices in every nic strength 18mg and up in every pg/vg ratio.

I hoped I could "smoke indoors" without affecting the kids' health.

I stuck it out way beyond that.

I bought every thing you listed as well except for the Igo-I. The first eliquid i bought was from the first ( and only at the time ) vapeshop in NYC. Raspberry, RY4 and Watermelon i believe, in 16mg/ml. Found out later that it was DeKang liquid rebottled and re-branded and sold for twice the price !

Ahhh, the "Vamo", my mod of choice for a long time, even ran a co-op on them here. Provari's were all the rage, but I could buy 4 -5 Vamos for the price of one Provari.

Did I read that right?

Sitting down, facing forward.
I will say this for that ProSmoke (NOT) kit I had...it got me looking around and I found ECF. Without that, finding ECF, I never would have been able to stay off tobacco. That lead me to Volt, Innokin, Vamo and now the DNA, not to mention all the tanks, batteries, DIY tips and gear and yadda, yadda, yadda.

I'm still here on ECF... sort of. ;)

I ended up with about eight batteries just to get through a day.

Actually, while they were not "my" thing, I truly felt very sad when they decided to hang it up. Folks can say what they want, for or against, but that company was hugely influential in setting the standard for vaping in this country!

Yeah, it was 2009ish, there were no vape shops or even tobacco shops selling vape stuff so I ordered it online. it still was a rip off, but it was pretty much the only thing available, carto's came out after.

hard to believe joyetech continues to use that horrible cartridge system to this day.

My experience was almost the opposite.
I know cigalikes helped a lot of people quit, so I won't badmouth then either, but cigalikes nearly put me off vaping for life.

I tried one in 2013 and I found it to be horrible.
I bought it because I just got a new job where I couldn't smoke for four hours at a time (or so I thought when I was new, turns out my boss is really cool).
I thought I would puff away merrily on my Blu in the bathroom until I could have a real cigarette.

I don't recall what the nicotine strength was, but it made me feel awful and gave me scary palpitations.

It wasn't until just over a year ago in May 2016 that I did my research and tried again with a proper device.
I quit smoking literally overnight.

I worry that smokers will be turned off vaping due to similar experiences and never graduate to a proper vaporizer.

I'm sure this is a ploy by Big Tobacco.
I read something about how Camel snus is much lower in nicotine than proper snus.
It was postulated that the reason for this was getting people to dismiss snus and continue to smoke.
