Hehehe, some people even use tampons for wicks! Seriously!
FDA approved.

Reminds me of that famous USC study that found more heavy metal particles in ambient air than in actual e-cig aerosol. But that's LA air.
Well, my main reason for not switching to TC was the initial difficulty I encountered with user interface on different mods (different chips)--seemed overwhelming to me. Press this button, hold those two buttons for three seconds, press here to scroll, there to select, lock in resistance (coil has to be cool), answer the question, 3 more clicks to adjust temperature, 3 more to adjust adjust wattage, upgrade firmware, remember which mode you're in--and then you're kicked out of TC mode for some reason... Heck, I have a mod that always locks itself and demands to know if I'm using a new coil--even in power mode.Arctic Fox??? Too much for me.
Different connector, eh? Lemme think--KR808-D1, KR808-D2, 901, 801, 4081, Leo, P3. I still have a baggie full of different adapters. The 510 seems to have won and I don't see it going away anytime soon. Even ProVape failed.
Exactly right. That's why I feel comfortable using it (thanks, @MacTechVpr ).
Yeah. And now I see more and more battery manufacturers (Sony) and vendors posting big disclaimers that their batteries are not to be used in e-cigs. I can't blame them. Those cells were never intended to be used in personal vaporizers. The same is true for VG, PG, PEG, flavorings, sweeteners, wires, cotton, rayon, silica, etc. We've been improvising from day one.

I am trying to envision watching the first person who came up with the idea and tried it.....FDA approved.![]()

Thx for the nod Kat. Yes alumina is a truly magical material. My curiosity about it began long before I quit over 4 years ago. I became so intrigued with the idea of Kanthal and the properties of alumina that I've spent those 4 years since disseminating as many simple ways as possible for new vapers to explore their potential. If every one of us had such an ability to establish an efficient consistent baseline vape what a wonderful world this would be regardless of what we run. Now that would be poking the eye of the powers that be who loathe our self-reliant indepence.

Good luck all.![]()
Speaking of wire types, any thoughts on this?
Some of you may remember Mamu, she had a sever nickel allergy, I mean really bad. She was able to vape nickel coils with no negative side effects whatsoever. I know this to be true as we were both on the DNA40 beta test team.
To the best of my knowledge, and I am no metallurgist, all of the wires commonly used for TC are safe within normal vaping temps. Many of them give off REALLY bad stuff if heated to 800+ degrees, so you wouldnt want to dry burn them. But I have seen no hard evidence of them being harmful when used as directed.I certainly remember (know) Mamu well. I posted it (the vid) for interest. Always good to see several POVs, eh?![]()
Yep!But, iirc, she had to wear gloves to wind those nickel coils. Go figure.
