Part of why I said "sad" was that you didn't try it as it's intended to work and gave up on it.
I am going to try again, just not right now. After that horrid taste I got it turned me off from fiddling with it.

Just taking a step back and recoup and see what I did wrong as to not repeat it.

oth @mikepetro what is that freeware you mentioned that sort of mimics escribe and can be downloaded to certain lower end mods? was the pico one of them and how complicated is it?
That arctic fox firmware is really good, it really shines on the joyetech /wismec devices with the big screens but it works k a Pico too. My freind who has pretty much all wismec crap uses it, it makes them almost as good in TC as a dna board and you can load csv files for TFR range on new materials just like a dna.

I almost took a picture because I was sure it was black or something, but didn't see it as looking unusual at all so just threw it out. :( I really have no idea what I did wrong.
let me. Ask this, do you knw the difference between spaced/macro coils and micro/contact coils? If so tc needs to be the former.

nevermind negative nellys who are offended by your failed attempt and frustration, I applaud your effort. change is hard for people especially when going in blind

I always do contact coils, and thank you for your kind response.

Just found this thread and I'm only through page 6 so far.

But as someone who has been dripping on a 510 atomizer at 9.5 watts for MANY years...
This thread is bumming me out.
:(

I've had my share of dry hits and semi-dry hits.
Luckily I only vape about 1ml per day at this point.

But yeah, this sucks.
Dont feel bad DC2 I have been following this since its start and still 10 pages behind.

@NU_FTW Should I be doing spaced coils with SS? I don't usually do them for my kanthal builds and was told to build exactly how I would with kanthal to test on my TC mod.
that's my bad, I said that. I have enjoyed spaced coils since my kayfun days years ago, it was an oversight by me. Sorry for any undue frustration i may have caused

I didn't know you said it, thought I heard it from a couple people. Maybe it was just assumed I knew so no biggie. I almost tried it again and now glad I didn't because I would have used contact coils again and would have been pfft. and probably throw my Pico out the window. :)

I wonder if there is anyway of using a mass spectometer or similiar inline with drip tip and then proceeding to vape normally at different temps and see what is there?
No, that wont work. At least not as easy as you imagine.
How do you draw on the vape? Also, the huge amounts of PG/VG will kill your GC column.
What can be done is to use a smoke machine, collect the vapor on a glas fiber filter (for solid particles) and/or liquid trap (for highly volatile components and gases) and analyse that.

Actually, as long as you have enough wire and a gauge that's adequate, SS can work either way... I've tested pressed a few times and it worked just fine in TC, but prefer spaced in general, it ensures no hot spots better and I find better with the wicking. Some of my coils are barely spaced, barely 0.5mm between wraps. No problem.

Do you remember the gauge, size of coil, wraps, ohm reading?
