What do you mean "not around"?? I always have an eye on you!:hubba: And you leave my little peen alone over there...its just a baby and not used to violent actions.

I see some poor Chrysler driver was cruising by your house last night huh...freshly dug dirt in the vacant lot today is there??

LoL! Missed you!

Yeah, I was going to comment on what a little peen you have over there in your thread but I figured I better not. No one has to know Nico. Just like these mods prove.... size doesn't matter.

Now.... if you happen to know where I can find a Chrysler engineer........ :grr:...... I'm gonna :censored: and peen his/her little :censored: and then :censored:.

But then.... I can't help but ponder..... maybe this all happened in a Florida-downburst-thunderstorm-preventing-me-from-going-to-work for another reason...... ?........ a modding reason, of course. Like other mistakes have led me to where I'm at.

Anyhow..... Shadow talking about touch switches..... while I'm looking at my Chryslers contact switches in the wiper relays......

Anyhow...... simple little switches they are...... I took pics of course.

WAIT!! OH NO!!...Sci...what do/did you drive?? Please tell me it is/was not a Chrysler!!!

 @ NicoTime!

I may have scared Sci away with my dramatic reenactment of him not caring about 14500 battery mods and insinuating that he was cheating on me with my brother? :(

And we're on a new page....... but I don't have any pics.......

Oh wait a second......

Speaking of size and 14500s......... has anyone seen the difference in size of the newer TrustFire 14500?

BatterySize.jpg

They are shorter..... like I've seen people discussing in regards to the UltraFires.

On the left is one of the newer ones I bought..... on the right, one I got in December.

Just putting that out there. My brother and I are reconsidering our mods that we shorten the battery contacts on.

I`ll just give an update on this awesome mod My sister made for me at 5 Volts.
This thing will spoil you in many ways.

The flavor seems enhanced by having plenty to feed the atomizer. I`m still using a filler of Blue Foam but only at the tip of the cart. It rest on the fitting she has coming in the side and makes this thing work great.

I`ve been messing with what would be the best way to use the bottle feeding. I`ve found I seem to like squeezing the bottle while holding the unit on its side then go upside down with it when releasing the bottle. This seems to suck off anything that would be to much in the juice chamber I`m thinking. Sure hasn`t flooded by doing it this way. And like I said the flavor is awesome. Like a fresh toped off cart is always there.

I`m going to have to say if this was my first e-cig I would have never had to try another.
To my sister I say :toast: this thing is incredible.

Now I need to do as storminyte and make juice feeder mods. Should have listened to storminyte on that warning these things will spoil you.

Connman, that`s perfect, as that`s exactly the way I like vaping best, with just a little piece of blue foam kept plenty saturated! That was what I was trying to achieve in a very crude form mock up.

DnC thank you for taking the time to post. I think I completely understand now, and can achieve my vaping utopia with the answers you guys have provided! Now the search for the 18 awg tubing errrrrrrr.

HEY HEY!! It was cold in there!! Anyway...it only does that when I not looking at your threads. I have to keep my big peen in the garage its so big.:p

Now.... if you happen to know where I can find a Chrysler engineer........ :grr:...... I'm gonna :censored: and peen his/her little :censored: and then :censored:.

I have completely disassembled more Chryslers than I want to admit...including my '74 Cuda thats sitting in the garage now...WAIT:ohmy:...I drive a Chrysler...am I alive...pinch..pinch..Owie...wow, I thought I was a gonner for a minute there!!:( But anywho..yes Mopars wiper systems didnt exactly make for a better driving experience to say the least.

But then.... I can't help but ponder..... maybe this all happened in a Florida-downburst-thunderstorm-preventing-me-from-going-to-work for another reason...... ?........ a modding reason, of course. Like other mistakes have led me to where I'm at.

I am getting a list together also to start building some touch switches too...and some urethane resin to do a poured mod case, so maybe I will do a video on that if successful...and if your nice to me I will send you one.;)

I was actually giving some thought to a very simple solution for the problem of custom cases.
MUCH simpler than resin with 99% repeatable results in less than 5 minutes with the proper setup.

PM if interested so I stop mucking up Dreams' wonderful thread :)

(snip)

I did however have two questions on the feeding system. In your Dreams and Chains Presents pictorial when observing the it appears that all you did was replace the the bottle top with the brass lighter fitting and tube, and the aquarium tubing fits right over the double o-ring? Also, the 14 AWG tubing would still be necessary to go to the bottom of the bottle?

Lastly, I tried a crude juice feed without fittings, albeit with larger diameter tube .140 O.D. and .080 I.D. by drilling a 9/64 hole on the bottle and the cart to see if I could supply the cart with juice. The conclusion I came up with was that the juice was just moving back and forth in the tube. Was this due to the diameter of the tube, or the fact the it was unable to draw air from anywhere (I had filler in the cart BTW)? Does the smaller diameter hose correct that issue. Or is it the fact that the juice must actually drip out of the tube to be able to draw air? I like the idea of being able to fill a cart and not necessarily drip, as I fear flooding. Although I believe I will build this mod with the drip tip you linked, as it gives it an clean look.

(snip)

I better get back to this question or I never will!

Just to add to the Dropper Bottle picture I put up earlier... I do not put any holes in the bottle.... everything is fed as-is. As for different sizes of tubing.... if Stormi is still around..... she has tried various sizes and could answer better than I can. I've only used the sizes from the lighter and, at the bottom, the aquarium tubing.

Sci put up a great link in the V2 thread for great affordable tubing and that is why I use it in reference to these mods.

And it is PTFE Teflon Tubing, which can be read about it's chemical resistance and how it's used in food and even vein grafts Here:

And see..... PTFE was discovered by accident too!

I`ll bother you one last time. Do you think I could use a piece of wire jacket for the 18 awg? I imagine I could find close to the right dia. wire lying around?

Stormi had used tubing from spray bottles she had in the house. I guess our topic today is how size doesn't matter really!

I like the thin tubing because I, too, was afraid of flooding the atomizer. I used the thin tubing from the lighter and have just never stepped away from it. And it's clear..... so you see the liquid.

When I first started with the liquid fed system.... I stuck with the blue foam in the cart until an ECF Member, Beckah, and Stormi got me brave enough to experiment without it. That is also when I realized that this whole combination of brass adapters and the tubing that came with it also didn't even leak when I tossed it into my pocket at work! Once again.... thanks go to Stormi and Beckah... for making me experiment and trust in my own mod.

Anyhow.... size may not matter..... Stormi would know. (oh... and Nicotime.... lol)

As for the drip tips turned into juice fed tips....... WOW....... I simply cannot recommend those enough to anyone working with "juice-fed" systems! I can't even flood the atomizer on the way to a stressful job under the stressful conditions of a Florida thunderstorm at night without Chrysler Windshield wipers! And if it were going to flood..... it would be flooded then!

So..... while you may have to wait to buy the $1 lighter for the tubing and brass.... or wait to order it online....... just look around your house at safe tubing in spray bottles and the like.

BTW.... The "tubing" I have in my original nico-drip dropper bottle.... was actually a piece I cut off a pipette that fits it perfectly inside the bottle. (And, I believe that is what I accidently posted in the picture. Pipette bottom with tube stuck in. my bad. Don't tell anyone!) But I know the 14 AWG is what is in this 5 Volt and my Nico-Drip V1 that I'm vaping right now.

EDIT TO ADD:
I'm offline for the day to finish my chores, get some sleep and hopefully have windshield wipers on the way to work tonight.

Thanks for all your help. I`m off as well to take the kiddo to the pool. I feel confident enough now to try some different things. I have the tubing from the lighter, just didn`t know if it was too small for the part in the bottle, I`ll check later, and if not, I just have to start being creative like yo guys. Who knows maybe I`ll come up with my own mod that you guys would like to build some day.

Just to add to Dreamys post...zbass....I find that the smaller and shorter the tubing the better. I use the 24AWG teflon tubing on a different mod and it controls the flow really well...even if you are stressed and continue squeezing the bottle while trying to get your wipers to work...or while waiting on Dreamy's next post. Depends on your bottles flexibility and fittings too...I dont use any fittings though so I cant say for sure their effect...but I did notice when I used the same size tubing but had coiled up some extra tubing to take the bottle out, it took more pressure to get the flow going. The teflon tubing also works great as it can seal itself without bonding agents. If you run a needle the same size as the tubing through the bottles drip tip or the cart, then follow the needle out of the hole with the tubing the plastic will relax back around the tubing making a nice tight seal. Plus the tubing will slide in and out without the seal being broken.

So yes...size doesn't matter...you can get a nice tight fit with a small tube and still have a pleasurable..uh...vape...its just knowing how to use your small tube!;)

Thanks Nico, I`m now more confused than I was:blink:. I`m new to this whole thing, and learning. I believe I have enough tubing from the lighter (14 awg??) to do the whole project. My main concern was that I wanted to still a small piece of blue foam as opposed to a drip tip. I think that connman explained that well enough that I feel it will work satisfactory.

Don`t you worry though Nico, I`ve been eying up your skills and your turn is coming:D

Also Nico, I do see your point, and agree that shortest amount of tubing necessary would seem optimal, and that is my plan. I`m just confused on the 24 awg teflon tubing?????? Don`t have the slightest idea what that is.

I really appreciate the generosity of your time dedicated to us who just want to learn basic modding. I hope that maybe I may accidentally stumble upon something in the process that may be helpful to you guys or to pass on to others.

Thanks Again,
Bob

Teflon...plastic tubing...same thing basically except the teflon is more flexible and has a high heat tolerance. You can see the difference in sizes of the tubing at this link that Dreamy put up....Higher the gauge number is the smaller the tubing. Its so cheap I would order several sizes to play with. I use mostly PG in my juice so the small tubing works good with the thinner juice...if you use a high VG juice you would need to go with 18 or 14 ga. like Dreamy uses. Here is the link again...

You can get about any size here too...look in the PTFE section.

Sorry...didnt mean to confuse you or anything...that's what happens when I open my mouth and go "On Topic"! Dreamy is the one doing all the work though...I just like to watch her! I better go now before she peens me!

Dreamy...make sure your springs aren't putting too much pressure on the armature in that wiper motor...they need constant light pressure as the carbon brushes wear down...thats why they use long thin springs...more for travel than for pressure.:2c:

Ah Dreams...

Being an old mech myself... I have an abiding, all-consuming hatred for all automotive engineers and designers, irregardless of which company they represent!!! I fantasize about performing unspeakable mods upon their persons... I even wish a 10 year mechanic's apprenticeship upon them!

A mere ballpeen hammer is not severe enough to punish them for their misdeeds! (I'm thinking Drimmel and LOTS of attachments!!!)

 BWAHAHAHAH!!!!

Ah... I feel better now...

PS: I am going to build at least one, if not all of your mods! I truly admire your skill and talent Dreams! :thumb:

Thanks!
