Don't know where this thread goes so I'll start here at home.

I'm curious as to the opinions out there on whether the line between the Nicorette inhalers and our PVs is bound for convergence at some point in the future. My sense is that they've got to come to us. The amazing thing about this community is that it is grass roots to the nth degree, its global and it has this beast - the ECF. I'll bet some carto's that they're whiting this market evolve and trying to figure out how to get in. Shutting it down I think would be a pointless exercise - so if you can't beat them.........

Nicorette inhalers terrible. Terrible. I spent $40 on a box of those damn things nearly a year before I started vaping, and they sucked. Like inhaling chalk dust. Harsh, flavourless, and utterly ineffective. There's just no comparison.

In the broader sense I think there's probably always going to be a place for NRT products like Nicorette though. There are some people who are reticent to try E-cigs for any of a variety of reasons: They're ignorant of the ingredients in E-liquid (some willfully so), they think they look geeky, they think they don't work, or whatever. I could see Nicorette eventually caviing in though and coming out with a doubtless overpriced E-cig though.

I see Nicorette getting closer and closer but I figure they may go the way of a disgusting tasting juice in their pre-filled crap-o-mizers to detour children from trying it. I doubt any device they would release would technically count as a PV because it would only be geared toward dead-set quitters and not your run of the mill vaper.

I hope I'm not coming off as too harsh, I just have tried every last little doogad, patch and etc from these companies to no avail in the slightest and it literally left a bad taste in my mouth for good. Waste of my time and money, unlike vaping that I am completely content with :)

Not harsh at all. I think this is where the dynamism is, the innovation and the community which is motivated by something other than the $. Just think of the innovation and creativity that has gone into the Zenesis, Nicorette could never do this. Conceived, designed and built by one person - Little science versus big science.

This has to be the most embarrassing marketing bloop I have ever seen...

Nicotine inhaler 005 | Flickr - Photo Sharing!

It looks like an item known as a Tam..n!

Only a government regulated product such as this is can remain on the market with such resemblance.

I thought at first the maker of the other item could complain but it seems that the same company makes both so it must be a way to make the platform more cost effective.. IE: Make higher mountains of cash..

We were smokers. We found ways to avoid the taxes on cigarettes and get our nicotine fix for less than half the regular cost. The Government passed laws, diverted law enforcement, border security agents and created an industry out of paid informants. They certainly didn't do that out of concern for our health!

Now we can vape for 1/10 the cost of cigarettes (just for a number), avoid any taxes, and we think the Government will allow us to carry on this way. That's a lovely Dream! I don't expect it will happen like that.

They can't ignore us, No. They don't ignore smokers either, but they can certainly punish the ones who do not pony up the money to them!

Just think people actually put that in their mouth.....what were they thinking?

The question is HOW ARE THEY GOING TO DO THAT? It will be like herding cats.

Sometimes it's better to be ignored!

(Like when you are doing what you want and nobody notices!)

Totally agree but I'm afraid the potential loss of income regardless how much would be saved by improved health and the bigger one is loss of control.... They hate that

Did you see the ads for the spray/mist? I wonder what flavours they have? Oh I just checked... "freshmint".
Good ol' approved NRT's.

Just as a coincidence;

The price of the spray divided by the number of sprays (1 spray=1mg=1 cig) closely approximates the price of 1 cigarette!

What a coincidence!

I think one of the weak points of vaping is the wide range of flavours.
At some point, someone will see this as a industry that is trying to lure young people who are not smokers.
Think candy cigs and some of those banned flavoured tobaccos.

Great point foutytwo .... but alcohol coolers in ever tantalizing fruity flavors? Still only meant for adults.

The youngsters aren't interested in fruity coolers, etc. They want the hard stuff with higher alcohol content. The problem is they now have say vodka & rum that come in all different flavors. They are also not interested in fruit or gum flavored cigarettes. I know this stuff first hand as my family owned a Liquor Vendor/Tobacco shop for years. I believe even if it came to e-juice they would not be interested in the flavor so much as being interested in the higher nicotine content. (Unless those flavors are called Red bull, whiskey or alcohol related).

The drinking laws are becoming way more strict here in Manitoba than the tobacco laws. So much so that it is very hard on businesses (say bar owners) to make a decent go at it, the threats of lawsuits & fines are scaring people off.
